Perfect for our family vacation - ages 2 months to late 60's. We've rented several houses in Poipu area (our favorite go-to) and this was my personal favorite located ON the beach with a pool, walking distance to our favorite shaved ice stand, restaurants, and shopping center. Ocean views and sunsets were beautiful - we would definitely go back.

This house was perfect in every possible way. The home was spacious, clean and well kept inside & out. There was so much to do on the South side of the island, but there were times we just wanted to stay and relax at the home. Sitting on that balcony and watching the water was absolutely hypnotizing. I don't know how to describe the feeling of waking up in the morning, grabbing a coffee and just staring out at the water listening to the waves. It is paradise personified. It was a short walk into the Kuikui'ula Village shops and a cute little market (with unreal Acai Bowls) - a walk we made a few mornings and evenings. This house was everything we dreamed it would be. The staff at Garden Island Rentals was communicative and quick to respond on everything. Thank you all!

We really loved the location. The small, mostly private beach with excellent snorkeling was a highlight our our trip. Watching for sea turtles, listening to the waves and enjoying the balcony didn't get old for any of us. The kids used the pool daily, which was supplied with a huge array of toys and floats. We also found many shopping and restaurant options within walking distance. Sidewalks are present around the area as well, which isn't something you'll see on many parts of the island. The house was stocked with plenty of plates and glasses for our party of 9. Having access to the garage was a huge benefit since the drive is quite small. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend fixing the gait which is supposed to go across the driveway and/or fence/gait the side yard on the right. I wasn't thrilled with leaving all the windows/sliders open on the first floor at night when there wasn't any outer security. It got pretty hot without the windows and sliding doors open at night. We wouldn't hesitate to stay in this area or in this house if we even come back to Kauai. It's pricey, but so is everything else on the Islands. No one goes to HI to save money, but this home helped us to maximize value by having so many positives.

The location of this property was perfect. We could be in Koloa or Poipu in under ten minutes. Spouting Horn and Allerton Garden are right down the road. We walked to the monthly craft fair held on The Beach House property for local handmade gifts to bring home.Except for when spearfishermen (a class (?) came five times during our two weeks) were out back, we went right from the gate at the back of the property to swim and snorkel. We brought our own masks and appreciated the three pairs of fins that were provided. We saw honu in the water and one visited the small beach on two different days. It is a rocky beach with a small sand area, but Baby Beach's wide expanse can be accessed by a public walkway between the homes just a few houses up the road.The mornings were perfect for sitting on the upper deck. Once the hot sun rose, we were glad to have the lower deck and some shade when we returned from afternoon adventures. We had ample plates, cutlery and bedding and clean bath and beach towels. After a particularly rain day when everyone came back splashed with mud it was wonderful to have the washer and dryer.Note: the only bathroom on the lower level is next to the king BR, so they have to share with anyone in the twin-bedded room also on that floor.Our favorite takeout restaurant was Savage Shrimp with ample parking and only 5 minutes away. Bubba's was good too. The best "fancy" restaurants we would recommend are The 1849 Eating House and Japanese Grandma's Cafe. The property manager recommended Aloha Sweet Delights for fresh malasadas and we made that part of two different trips headed west. Don't miss seeing the NaPali coast with Capt'n Andy! For a relaxing day that gives back, consider taking a dog from the Humane Society on a Field Trip Day. For another day, you're right down the road from Allerton Botanic Garden - just sayin'!

It was hard to leave this spot to look at other things around the island. Our family loved it. We were on a vacation that our adult children and spouses could come and hang out together with us.

We all came to Kauai to have a family holiday vacation. The house was amazing and made our trip wonderful. There were so many animals we saw just from the porch on the house-turtles, tropical fish, sharks and whales. most evenings the turtles came to bask on our little beach. The Garden island rental company was very helpful and we had a quick response time for any questions. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen had everything. I would definitely stay at this house again, Mahalo.

The Hale Ma'ana Hou Home is the best vacation rental we have experienced. Our family of nine ranging in age from 13 to 70 enjoyed a week in paradise. The home was beautiful, well stocked with anything you could possibly want or need, was large enough to give everyone their own space and separation when needed and to top it off we had the best seats for sunsets and turtle visits every evening.

This was an amazing house with lots of room. Beds were comfortable, house was clean, and they had so much kitchen stuff to use. The best part though was the outside. You were right on the water, had sea turtles come up every night, could swim in the pool or ocean. It was perfect! Will stay here again!

I am a repeat visitor to the Hawaiian Islands and have come to learn that the proximity to the beautiful ocean can also cause problems. The salt air wreaks havoc on appliances, and the smaller islands can have supply issues with parts and skilled repair people. Our Rental agency did their best to solve our problems and were generous (a Liliko"i Pie!) in their apology. Yes, I would stay here again.

My husband and I rented home for our extended family ( two sons , their wives and four young granddaughters ). The rental agency was great, helped with delivery of baby items, and kept us updated on rental information. They were in constant communication.Home is beautiful, clean and well stocked with towels, kitchen supplies and even laundry soap. Plenty of seating at pool and well stocked with snorkel equipment, beach chairs, floats and sand toys.The location can’t be topped. We were right on the beach, great snorkeling in front of home and we were visited nightly by large sea turtles. The view is unbelievable from both levels.We walked to nearby shopping center for shopping, bars, restaurants and a farmers market. And of course shave ice.Grand daughters loved the pool and walking to baby beach a few steps away.The location can’t be topped. Perfect for families!!

We had a fantastic stay at Hale Ma’ana Hou!!! We absolutely loved it. The beachfront location of this home is amazing! It’s literally a matter of steps to basically be on your own private beach and you have your own private pool. We had a couple issues with the washer and the air conditioner upstairs, but Brenda and Chela (from Garden Island Properties) were super responsive and had both fixed and/or replaced during our stay. The home is a bit on the older side so some things may need to be upgraded in the future. For example, some of the windows/hardware will probably need to be replaced as they were challenging to open and close. But overall, the house is really well maintained, has a spacious layout to accommodate large groups and its ocean view and location can’t be beat. We had so much fun at this home and would highly recommend staying at Hale Ma’ana Hou.

This was the best family vacation we hav3 had. We visited with my 3 sons and 2 daughters in law. The house was perfect for us. It’s a terrific designed home for groups who also want to escape occasionally to other areas for privacy.The management company was first class and very attentive. The house is clean and well maintained.The home was very well stocked and provided everything we needed for our 10 days there. The ocean views and nightly sunsets are absolutely stunning. Having a private beach where we could swim and snorkel was a luxury.Thank you for everything. We are filled with gratitude for such an awesome experience.( One suggestion I would make, is to switch up 2 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms upstairs shares a Jack and Jill. I would move that King sized bed to the basement bedroom that currently has 2 twins. Of done that way it would provide 4 couples with private bathrooms and a bedroom for children connected to parents etc.:

Hale Ma’ana Hou was a fantastic home located on one of the best snorkeling beaches. The pool was clean with an outdoor shower where we rinsed off after being down on the small beach. The wait was much worth it! This family holiday was supposed to happen back in 2019 but then unfortunately COVID happened. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Our stay here at Hanaa mou....( check spelling) has brought so many lasting memories to our family.
The location was perfect and views were amazing!! The sunsets were absolutely just breathtaking and stunning beyond words. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed seeing the turtles on the beach every night and boogie boarding on baby beach. These will be memories she will have forever and I am beyond grateful for that. LOTS of dolphin and whale sightings right from the balcony.... (except for the times it ended up being snorklers. Hahahahah) However, the 10 foot tiger shark that was feeding in 2 feet of water right in front of the house, was a bit nervy but also quite exciting as you don't see that everyday!
The kitchen was phenomenal for cooking meals. Tons of utensils and kitchen gadgets that made things so much easier. My dad and brother in law much appreciated the brand new high quality bbq and made our fresh steaks and Ahi turn out just perfectly!!
Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to all our friends. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay as a family to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary.
The one and only suggestion to be made is to have better quality soaps in the bathrooms. When staying in such a phenomenal high end home in such a beautiful place, it's nice to feel like you're staying at a 5 star hotel.
We are from Canada and if we could offer a suggestion Rocky Mountain Soap Company has amazing beautiful soaps that are all natural and have made our experience at places memorable.

We brought our kids and grandkids for my 60th birthday and were lucky enough to have stayed in this beautiful home. It was everything and more that we were looking for. The location is amazing for watching the sunset off the patio and overlooking the ocean. The views are breath taking. The pool was wonderful to have for the kids and we spent many hours swimming and having dinners on the patio. The beach below the house was such a special treat and the snorkleling was the best in the area. The house has everything you would need and all the rooms were spacious and accommodated all of us. The staff at Garden Island were so helpful. They were friendly and always available for any questions we had. We have been to Kauai several times and this home is definitely our favorite. Cant wait to go back. Mahalo for the memories we were able to make there.

Great location best snorkeling we’ve experienced at Kauai. The home is in need of maintenance, two downstairs showers take 1/2 day to drain, upstairs master slider door jam needs to be replaced. Overall a great time was had by all just hate to see the home in need of so many minor repairs.
