The cottage is in a delightful beach community. Property could use an update,and more comfortable mattressesLuckily the weather was cool so we didn’t need air conditioning.

One of the best beach community in Old Lyne

We wanted a house in Old Lyme Shores to be near family for a couple of nights and it was exactly what we wanted/expected. Clean, quiet, walking distance to beach.

Within minutes of arriving, there was a major leak from the toilet (caused by faulty water intake connection) which caused us to use all the towels in the place to soak up the water. Luckily we knew how to turn off the water intake valve, and the owner came the next day to repair, but it was a major inconvenience. The owner has not responded to a message asking for a partial refund due to that issue. The house was also cold, as there is no heat source other than a fireplace, and no firewood provided. I believe that should be highlighted on the listing. House is adorable inside but closets have a lot of junk in them and there is a pervasive musty odor. Cable TV works well and beach is only a short walk with one slightly busy road to cross. Lots of games for kids.

This place is in walking distance to a private community beach, which was less crowded than the public one.

House was adequate- owner was helpful and pleasant and responded timely. However outdoor deck and picnic table unusable due to mold and layers of dirt. Should of been cleaned for renters for cost we payed to stay there.

Great location for fun time on private beach. Fit five of us nicely. Hostess very helpful. Enjoyable stay.

This cottage is in a wonderful location very close to the beach. When we stayed there in July, there was also a pretty carousel nearby that kids would love and a great place to get ice cream right next door.
