Romantic Cabin: Pet Friendly, Close to Town, Wood stove, 1 Bdrm + Loft
La cabine Goldilocks est une retraite confortable pour une escapade romantique, et idéale pour les petites familles également. La cabane est sur 4 hectares boisés, mais à seulement 1 mile du village de Stowe, à huit miles du mont. Mansfield et le ski, et à seulement quelques kilomètres du Pinnacle, l'une des randonnées les plus spectaculaires du Vermont.
La cabine Goldilocks est bien aménagée avec des antiquités de la Forêt-Noire et de la France, des tapis tissés à la main et des lustres en bois - la combinaison parfaite de rustique et de luxe. Le poêle à bois chaud et la pendule à coucou font de cette cabane une retraite confortable après une journée de randonnée ou de ski. La grande chambre principale a un lit à baldaquin antique, avec un somptueux matelas et une alcôve avec un canapé-lit. Le grenier de couchage (un favori des enfants plus âgés) est accessible par une échelle et dispose d'un lit double. Il y a aussi un canapé-lit dans le salon. La cabine a deux ponts et un barbecue à gaz, et un foyer. Goldilocks accepte les animaux. Les animaux de compagnie bien élevés et approuvés sont toujours les bienvenus.

The entire place needs a thorough cleaning. If your design theme is cabin chic and full of knickknacks, you have to make sure everything is dusted and washed periodically. The drapery and upholstery definitely needs a heavy cleaning. We discovered dried bloodstains on one of the bedsheets.
There was a heavy musty smell, the only way to move air around was using the window units. But when we turned them on they greeted us with dust. Turns out their filters were extremely dirty.
The bedroom is very dark and the wallpaper and dim lamps don't help.
The property also needs some structural work as the floor is unstable and sinks in several places.
I think the property is typical of this area nowadays, being managed remotely via a housekeeping service that doesn't do a job they might if the owner checked regularly, and it shows.

Perfect for us & Sheba (our puppy). The cabin had everything we needed, coffee maker & grinder, stove, microwave, etc. The TV was great to get the local & national stations. Our host thought of everything from the utensils, pots & pans, dishware, spices, & other necessities to the towels, bathroom supplies, washer & dryer, storage space & outdoor amenities (grill, deck chairs, firepit...) The cabin was a perfect size for all of us, comfy chairs & sofa, A/C (we didn't need the heat) bed was OK. The road was a bit noisy but inside we couldn't hear anything. We come up almost every year & we will make this place our go-to rental. It was that good.

We enjoyed our stay over the April break. The property was quaint and well looked after. Being able to bring your pet was a huge plus and communication with our host was excellent.

Cabin was very comfortable, well decorated. We felt very secluded yet we were a 5 min drive from downtown. Jill was great with communication before and during our stay. Great place to stay if you’re skiing or otherwise.

This was a perfect home for a quick weekend getaway for some skiing at Stowe and Jay Peak. Great location, you can walk into downtown Stowe if you want. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. About 20 minutes to Stowe, maybe less. The home had everything you need if you want to cook and stay in. We will certainly be coming back again.

What a fantastic stay. The Cabin was so cute and cozy, and in such a convenient location. It was a mile from Main St. Stowe. Instead of Stowe Mt, we skied Bolton Valley, which was a 20 minute drive. The wood burning stove was just right on cold nights. Kitchen well appointed. Bed super comfy. Owner was very responsive. We will stay again!

This little cabin was nicely located on large lot outside of town but an easy drive. We enjoyed the hammock and outdoor area. Communication was smooth.

Jill's Goldilocks Cabin is very well situated, a short drive to many awesome hikes, including Mt Mansfield as well as Burlington. The cabin itself was nice and cozy, with plenty of space to relax and unwind.

Staying at the Goldilocks Cabin was an absolute dream! It's such a beautiful and relaxing space in the middle of the forest. It's also super conveniently close to Stowe and the Waterbury Center State Park. We had such a wonderful cozy week at the cabin and enjoyed dining out on the patio as well as laying in the hammock outside. Jill is such a kind, helpful and responsive host. If you check out the Goldilocks website- it’s exactly as stated. It is off a fast street windy street, no sidewalks but you need a car to get around Stowe anyhow. Us NYC folks enjoyed the quiet & remote surroundings of the cabin. Lots to see inside so we were off our cell phones & really enjoyed the visual decors. Thank you for the board games!

When my wife and I arrived at Goldilocks Cabin, we stepped through the doorway and found ourselves in a delightful, storybook setting with all of the modern conveniences! We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in the cottage. The cottage was immaculate and well-appointed. Jill was easy to work with and reached out to see if we had any questions and/or needed anything. My partner and I stayed for a long weekend at the end of the winter season and were dazzled by the charm and decor this place offered. It had everything we needed to enjoy and relax including a wood stove. There was always something new to discover in every nook & cranny. Like Goldilocks, you have to be a bit curious and snoop around to find all of the amenities tucked away in cabinets and drawers. Jill was a wonderful host and checked in on us via message the day after we arrived to check that we were all set, and answered any questions we had. I highly recommend this Vrbo for a couple or family with 1 or 2 children who can climb into the tall loft.

This was a true "Vermont Experience". Cozy, quiet and a bit off the beaten path, but close enough to enjoy everything. Your subtle nods to the Goldilock's theme did not go unnoticed and the wonderful March snowstorm was the icing on the cake. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

This was our first time to Stowe and we just loved it. The cottage was so clean and so many thoughtful details and I happen to love English cottage decor. So charming and homey. The location was convenient to Stowe Historic District and skiing.
