Beautiful Waterfront Lake Home near Real Island and 6 min from The Landing!

Avec deux cours seulement une heure et les quatre autres entre 2 et 2 1/2 heures de route. We had a wondeful stay at Hancel's Heaven. The home is beautiful and clearly has had some incredible family time there! Being right on the lake was incredible. There was tons of sleep space for our group of 9 adults and 2 kids. And the rooms were huge! I do wish the home had some more outdoor items for us to use. We ended up buying floaties for ourselves and had to bring our own life jackets.

Lake Martin is the crown jewel of lakes and this property sparkles with comfort and personality.
There are cozy gathering spots and getaway napping corners. The sunsets on the porch complete a busy or lazy lake day. We lacked nothing in our stay.

This home was amazing. The rooms were large and comfortable, but the wrap around porch is where we spent so much time. The home owner made us feel welcome! She sent great directions for dealing with keys, lights, and the dock. Her directions to the home were so perfect, we only passed the drive once :) This was a multi-generational gathering and we all had a blast. Would definitely rent from them again. Hope to revisit this home in the fall to see the beautiful leaves surrounding the lake.

I would give this property a 10/10!!! We had the most wonderful family vacation . The view was beautiful, the house was beautiful, the lake was beautiful. We will make Lake Martin a family tradition for sure!!!!

Relaxing Getaway
We had a relaxing getaway at this beautiful lakefront home. The property is perfectly located on Lake Martin. We enjoyed swimming and fishing off of the dock and exploring the lake on our pontoon boat. Didi was very responsive when I had questions about the home and area. This was our first trip to Lake Martin, but we’ll definitely be back!

Awesome Lake House!
Just like the other reviews say…the pictures don’t do this place justice. This house was fabulous! It had plenty of room for our large family and had everything we needed. We loved the porch and dock area. We were able to swim, ski and tube right in front of the house which was great! We also loved the location. This was our first trip to Lake Martin and we can’t wait to return!

Relaxing stay on Beautiful Lake Martin
Our recent stay on Lake Martin was perfect. The home was beautiful, spacious and centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Communication with DiDi was easy and check in process could not have been better. We spent our days relaxing, visiting all the restaurants, tubing and exploring. The porch overlooking the lake was amazing. We hope to return soon!

Mother's Day and Graduation
Our family stay here to celebrate Mother's Day and our daughter's graduation for Auburn Vet School. We had a wonderful time and this house was amazing. The location is great and the size was perfect for all of us(9). The porch and dock area is where we spent most of our time and it is beautiful!!!! We are already thinking of a time we can all stay there again!!

Relaxing vacation
We enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Hancel’s Heaven. We rented a boat from a marina and had a great time on the lake. This home/property is in a great location with a beautiful view. We would do it all over again!

Had an amazing week at Lake Martin. The house and property is beautifully maintained, spacious and welcoming. So many personal touches throughout the home with a kitchen that is beyond well equipped. We absolutely loved Hancel’s Haven and look forward to a repeat visit next summer.

The house was beautiful with lots of room for a large family. The house has many interesting antiques, books and photos to look at. Nice boat dock and floating dock to lay out on. We really enjoyed visiting with our family there.

2021 Lake Martin Family Vacation
The property was in a very quite location and easy to access. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of dishes. The bedrooms were very roomy. The mattresses in most of the rooms were not very comfy but for our stay it was fine. The pillows could use an upgrade. The Auburn/historical room was very interesting. We really enjoyed the house and our week stay. We made lots of memories!!

Best VRBO we've every experienced!
The photos for this lovely lake home to not do it justice! The property is absolutely stunning. The decor is a unique, eclectic mix of country antique and chic. The upstairs barn wood panelled game room is like a fun museum filled civil war, football and wild west memorobilia! But, by far, the BEST part of the house is the lovely back porch and swimming dock where we spent most of our time. There is not detail left out of this wonderful vacation home! We had grandparents, adults, young adults and a teens and a pre-teen!

Beautiful home in a perfect location!
This home was perfect! It has all of the amenities you could possibly need. The location is in a great cove off the main water. Easy boat access. The property owner was very easy to work with and communicated quickly. We’ll be back for sure!

Birthday Event!
We had a large family gathering for my mother's 80 birthday party. The house and grounds were perfect for us from the oldest in the family to the 2 babies.
We boated and floated for 4 days and loved every minute. The marina is a quick boat or car ride!.
Didi was very accommodating and was always qucik to respond. The kitchen was well stocked with all drawers labeled - wow! There was plenty of seating inside and the porch was well used for additional seating and dancing.
There are other nearby properties on VRBO that allowed our group to reach a total of 35. We will definitely try this again!

Our family stayed at the Cody’s Lake Martin cabin to celebrate a graduation. The house was perfect - had everything we needed, was clean & very comfortable. There are lots of interesting antiques & memorabilia in the house. We’ll be back!

Week at the lake
Loved this wonderful house on Lake Martin ! It had tons of space for our family and we so enjoyed visiting on the huge porch ! Close to Kowliga and The Landing so that was a plus for us ! The owner was so easy to work with! Will rent again for sure !!

Wonderful Home
Did was excellent to work with and the house was spacious. We loved the front porch and upstairs pool table. The Landing restaurant is 4 minute drive from the house as well making it a fantastic location. Thank you for a great trip

Lovely on the Lake
Other reviews have said the pictures don't do this property justice and that is true! The house and property are just amazing. Very well maintained and a delight to stay there. The house is so solid and well built, you can just feel the quality that went into building it and the decor is so well done, we felt like we were staying with friends. The front yard has a slope down to the boathouse on one side and a boardwalk down to the floating dock on the other side, neither one a hard trek. We were going to rent a poontoon boat from Real Island Marina but you have to have an Alabama Vessel License so we ended up spending the day floating on the lake. So relaxing and just what we all needed. The water was perfect although we did get a little too much sun! We were going to go to The Landing at Parker Creek one evening for dinner but no one wanted to leave the house! We grilled out two nights and all sat around the big dining table, it was great!! The size of the house gave more than enough room for the six of us (one couple had to back out). The barn room is a history buffs dream and being Auburn fans really helps, War Eagle! And last but not least, Didi was very accomadating and was there when we needed her on any questions that we had. We would definitely stay at Hancel's Heaven again!

Beautiful Southern style home on Lake Martin with fabulous views of the Lake!
We loved our stay at Hancel's Heaven. Lots of room! Great view of the Lake! We loved the big southern style porch! It was a great place for late afternoon coffee and fellowship time with family! Such a lovely home with beautiful decor! We enjoyed swimming, fishing, skiing, wake boarding and just enjoying time with family. Great place for a family to stay and make wonderful memories!

Great fun, tropical storm and all!
The home is lovely, and everything we needed was provided for. We had a multi generational vacation here, and the house was perfect. The driveway down to the door is steep, but we had no real problems with it. It's quite a hike up to the trash bins, so we sent the young ones to take out the trash. There are stairs, if anyone has trouble with them. We adored the porch looking out over Lake Martin, and we spent a lot of time there and on the dock. There are 2 docks. One has deeper water and there's shallow water by the other dock. The kitchen is wonderful for several cooks to get together and do their thing. I definitely would recommend Hancel's Heaven. Be aware that there are antiques in the home. We did have small children with us, though, and the antiques were safe since the children were so well-behaved. Didi was responsive. Note: the neighbors don't like fireworks. They scare the dogs.

Shangri-la on Lake Martin
This home is truly everything it says and more. We rent a house on the lake yearly when family comes and this one is by far the best. The open floor plan is ideal, house is decorated beautifully and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The quiet cove was nice for swimming and fishing. The grandchildren had a great time jug fishing, (with noodles), and tubing. We enjoyed morning coffee on the large porch overlooking the water and played board games with the grandchildren. The ceiling fans on the porch made it comfortable even in the heat of the day.

A Preview to Heaven
What a special paradise....full of rich history, beauty, and so comfortable you never really want to leave. Our small group came to ride their motorcycles on the back roads of Alabama and we weren't disappointed on that front at all. However, our accommodations at Hancel's Heaven exceeded our expectations and we will go back. But next time may also take advantage of the wonderful boating and water playground it represents.
We feel so fortunate to have selected this property during our search and have enjoyed working with DiDi . Thank you for sharing your home, your wonderful memories and giving us a chance to make some of our own.

Absolutely Paradise
We have stayed at Hancel's Haven for two years now. We plan on going back next summer. It is perfect for a family get together. Our children and grandchildren all live in various places so this is special time for us all to be together. It has it all boating, swimming and just sitting on the porch talking. We don't leave once we get there. Love it and would recommend it to anyone. Did I mention it is absolutely beautiful!

Always a treat!
This home is straight from the pages of Southern Living. The architectural details in every room are incredible. We have been going every summer for five years and every year I discover something new in its design. It is exquisitely decorated and designed to accommodate large families and provides seating for meals and conversation spots. The large gourmet kitchen has everything any chef could need. The lake itself is so large that we can ride everyday for a week in a different direction and see something new every day. We love to ski, tube, lay on the dock, ride to chimney rock to jump, and drink coffee at sunrise on the porch. This year we discovered Goat Island where a herd of goats lives and can be fed. I highly recommend this home and plan to return annually.
