The room was big enough for 1 or 2 people. A nice, private balcony that had a great breeze when the sun went down. It was clean. The room included a small refrigerator and a security box for personal items.

A couple of bathroom ceiling tiles were not on track (looked like holes in the ceiling), I stood on the tub to fix them.

Port Royal is consistently a wonderful yearly destination, end of summer for us. The hotel is always clean and beautifully decorated. We usually swim in the ocean and pool as a goodbye to summer. The bike rental is very close and convenient as well as the Royal grill restaurant below.

Not as impressed with the new management at the Royal grill. Food was not as good as it always had been.

Location is great! Restaurant (I only ate breakfast there) is excellent. Pool nicely heated, very clean, lots of room to swim. Landscaped public parks on both sides of the hotel make it special. Staff is very friendly. A big thing for me is that the Port Royal has elevators, which sets it apart from motels.

Realizing it was high season, the price was still a bit steep for a ground floor room that was noisy. And I could hear the people in the next room.

Staff was extremely friendly. The room was clean. The balcony had an ocean view and was very comfortable to sit out and enjoy the view. We were only there 3 night and didn't need the room cleaned, so we hung the do not disturb sign. They left fresh towels outside the room daily.

I think they could change the door tags to say "Maid service not needed" on one side. Do not disturb sounds a little rude. The balcony light stays on all night. We wanted to sleep with the ocean breeze but had to close the drapes due to the light.

We noticed how clean the hotel was and the staff was always working to maintain it being clean. We love the privacy of our balcony that no one can pass by or look in.

It was our first time there and even though we had an excellent view, the room was small with no microwave. Plus the elevators are very small and slow. They need to improve on that, especially with Covid being ramped again.
