Le matin, nous aimons marcher jusqu'à l'Apple Red Stand au fond de l'allée et ramasser des beignets et des chaussons aux pommes frais, frais du four chaque jour mais il est à seulement 5 minutes en voiture du centre-ville Murphys pour le déjeuner ou le dîner.
En été, nous longeons la piscine ou profitons des lacs locaux, des trous pour nager, des courts de tennis et du golf. À l’automne, nous adorons goûter à tous les nouveaux vins des producteurs locaux. En hiver, nous nous dirigeons vers 30 miles à Bear Valley pour le ski alpin, bien que nous entendons cross-country est aussi merveilleux ici - nous préférons juste pour obtenir les collines sur un ascenseur :).

The property is huge and offers plenty of space. Beautiful scenery right from the deck. Will certainly make another visit in summer. We all loved our stay and the host was very responsive to all our questions.

A classic ranch home with outstanding upgraded outdoor area. The pool was a welcome amenity as the weekend we stayed was over 100 degrees each day. Close to downtown Murphys for a fun day in town eating, wine tasting and exploring. Helena was a great host and very communicative. The house can get warm, so plan accordingly and keep those fans going and enjoy the pool.

Quiet and Peaceful Getaway
My family and I had a fantastic time in this home! The views are spectacular, and the house is comfortable and cozy. Everything was super clean, the kitchen and bathrooms were spotless, and the bed linens and towels were also clean, soft, and comfy. We spent most of our time in the kitchen/dining area cooking or playing games or on the deck around the fire pit, enjoying the fresh air. Although we would 100% recommend this house to anyone and would rent it again, there are a few things I feel I should mention. First, there is no AC, and it gets pretty warm in the house, we tried opening all of the windows, and the ceiling fans helped, but the smaller room where the kids slept was uncomfortably warm. Also, the water pressure in the bathroom in the hall was awful, and the water was a tiny trickle, making it almost impossible to rinse out long hair. One of the things we noticed right away was that many of the door knobs around the house were loose and or broken. For example, none of the bathroom doors lock, so beware of that and make sure you knock. Finally, the pool is not heated, which was a damper for everyone, especially the kids. We rented this house primarily for the pool, and although we were able to enjoy it a few times, the rest of the time, it was simply too cold. However, as I mentioned before, our overall stay was great, and we would 100% recommend this house to anyone looking for a beautiful and quiet place to get away. The views from the backyard and deck alone are worth it. It was the quiet and peaceful getaway we all needed.

Beautiful View
It’s a nice place to stay. Beautiful view and relaxing. Wished the hot tub was available. Didn’t realize the third bathroom was at the other end of the home. The mattresses could be more comfy. It will also be nice when the road leading up to the house will be paved. Don’t get me wrong…a great place to stay! Very clean!

Peaceful lovely stay w/beautiful views!
When we were unable to book a hotel in downtown Murphy's, we looked into securing a VRBO and much to our delight found this beautiful property in Forest Meadows - just a short drive to town. The house was immaculate and equipped with everything you could ever use or want! The pool was sparkling and there were numerous umbrellas for shade. We prepared breakfast two mornings and sat outside sipping our coffee on the deck and taking in the gorgeous sunrise. We also sat around the fire pit at night and enjoyed the spectacular star filled nights. It was a girls trip and couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you, Helena. Loved your home and will be back!!!

All about the outdoor living
Gorgeous outdoor space - we spent nearly all our time on the deck and in the pool. The indoors is expansive and there’s plenty of room, but it’s pretty dated and the beds aren’t comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking in. Definitely the star of the show is the outdoor space (and the apple cider donuts down the road). Easy access to Arnold and Murphys, and totally, gloriously private.

Beautiful and Private
This is a great vacation home. Spacious, clean, well equipped kitchen, gorgeous deck and swimming pool. The view is stunning. It was very hot while we were there, in the 90’s, and it was fun to sit outside after dark and watch the moon rise over the hills below. The pool is wonderful and we spent a lot of time swimming. The surrounding deck has lovely chaise lounges and umbrellas. Checkin and out was easy, and Helena is very responsive and helpful. Great TV system, although it took a savvy 13 year old to figure it out. We had a wonderful time.

Gorgeous View and Privacy
We had a super relaxing stay! The beautiful view, expansive deck, being surrounded by nature with a complete lack of neighbors (this seems to be the only house on this large hill) make this an automatic 5-star for us. It was a lovely and easy workout strolling down the private roadway to fetch morning pastries at the apple stand (good to burn a few of those calories on the short hike up!) The house was very clean, and had a completely vintage 70’s-meets-50’s-ranch house vibe. Couches were comfortable; master bed is firm. Helena is a thoughtful and responsive host. Would love to return in warm weather to use that pool with a view!

Lovely stay, just know...
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The home is perfectly 70s vibe (but modern accommodations) and the property is so beautiful. It's secluded but not far from the Main Street. Like others, we loved the apple donuts at the bakery down the road. The only thing I didn't realize was that even though pictured, the hot tub is not for guest use. Like the owner says, it's not listed under accommodations in the listing but the photos are a bit misleading. Even though the days were 80 degrees, the pool was very cold (the kids and I wore our wet suits!) but it's a lovely pool and the deck is so nice to sit out on and drink your morning coffee. The only other thing to note is that there is a video doorbell (brand: Ring). I didn't see notice on the listing that there was a camera doorbell (per VRBO's requirements). So, maybe reach out on your own to the owners if that makes you uncomfortable like it did us. Overall, such a lovely place!

Breathtaking views! You won’t want to leave.
This property is absolutely beautiful. The house is kept up so well, modern updates where you want them, and preserved finishes that will make you smile. Have your morning coffee and a watch the sunrise over the mountains, and probably get a visit from a family of wild turkeys.

Beautiful getaway
My family and I had a wonderful time at this property self isolating. You feel miles away from everyone but in reality the property is located between the towns of Murphys and Arnold. My kids loved the pool and my husband and I loved the spectacular views. The house has a 70’s decor which we enjoyed. We will definitely be back.

Spacious home with beautiful deck/pool/view
We really enjoyed our stay at the ranch. The house is very secluded with a beautiful view from the deck. Our kids spent hours in the pool every day, and they loved walking down the long driveway to get warm donuts and pastries from the nearby bakery. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed. The house is in a good location for accessing both Murphy's and Arnold. My kids are already asking to go back for another stay!

Annual Girls Trip
The stay couldn’t have been more perfect! The property had everything we needed and was immaculately clean upon arrival. The location, view, and privacy are understated and the pool was an added bonus! Highly recommend the Marion berry jam from the apple store at the bottom of the driveway! We look forward to coming back.

Relax and Recharge
8 of us stayed for Labor Day weekend to celebrate a birthday. Two adults, 6 teen girls. The place was just what we all needed! Views for miles, a spectacular pool, great deck for sun bathing but with a large umbrella for those who wanted some shade. A fire pit to sit in front of and just relax. Pool was a big hit, and it was very clean!
Inside held all 8 of us very comfortably. There was no AC so we made things work with the creation of a cross breeze.
Only drawback was the floors in the kitchen needing to be mopped (it may have been a while?) but small issue in an otherwise 10+ weekend.

great house for our 8 person annual girls trip
Very nice find pretty close to town. Up on a hill w/ no neighbors nearby. Quiet, spacious and the most beautiful view. Communication was great with the owner. The kitchen had everything we needed for a great stay. The pool was lovely and we spent almost 24/7 in it because it was soooooo hot while we were there. I would definitely rent this place again in the future. Thank you Helena!

Fantastic Family Getaway
Lovely property in the foothills above Murphy, easy drive from the Bay Area but feels very away from it all.
The house itself has nice open partially-updated kitchen that opens on to beautiful outdoor space. Deck space and pool all seem recently updated (as of summer 2019) and are definitely the biggest draw for the house. Whether swimming in the pool or hanging by the fire pit you really can't go wrong. A note that as of July 2019 the hot tub was not available to use, which is a bummer, but the pool itself is still great.
The interior of the house (bedrooms and bathrooms) are definitely a throwback to the original era of the house (70s) but all spotlessly clean and totally suitable for vacation stays.
If you want a great spot to enjoy warm weather outside with the pool, also with lots of fun day trip options (Murphys, Gold Country towns, redwoods, etc.) then this place is hard to beat.

Great stay even with bad weather!
Our group (2 families with kids- two 6 year olds one 2 year old) had a great time at this property even with the weather being less than desirable.
Helena was very responsive when we reached out with questions before our stay.
The view off the back deck is absolutely spectacular! We would have loved to use the pool/hot tub but cold and rain ruined our plans. We did, however, get to take advantage of the BBQ and the fire pit for smores. The kitchen was fully equipt with all the tools we needed to cook all our meals. It was also nice there was a washer/dryer especially with three young children in our group.
It would have been nice if there were more game options but we brought our own Rumicube and card games to keep us entertained during the rainy times.

Spacious home with a beautiful view of the mountains.
This was a great house for my husband and I to rent for a post-Christmas get away with our 4 kids. The town of Murphy's is sweet and we had a really good dinner out one night. There is a natural foods store just down the road for items that we forgot to bring. The kitchen is well stocked and we had everything we needed! Hope the pool and hot tub are ready for our next visit!

Little Piece of Heaven
My husband and I, along with two other couples spent the weekend here. What a lovely little gem in the hills. The view was wonderful and the home is very, very spacious. The only down side is the driveway. Although we made it up quite easily, had we come on our motorcycles, as originally planned, it would not have been quite as easy. We will return! The owner is very quick to respond with any inquiries.

Nice Place for a Group Retreat
We really enjoyed our stay at this private ranch style home in Murphy's.
The house - an amazing, one story layout with room for lots of people. It accommodated 4 couples for our trip and we all felt we had plenty of room.
The owners - really easy to communicate with and very responsive throughout the reservation process, check-in and during our stay.
The location - you can't go wrong with most quaint towns that dot the Sierra Foothills, but Murphy's has all the charm of the others, plus an amphitheater and lots of wine tasting. Also, the little apple stand at the bottom of the drive was really nice. We walked down with our coffee in the morning and had fresh. homemade apple fritters. Delish.
Overall - would highly recommend this house for 2 families with kids or 3-4 adult couples.

The views alone are worth staying for
The house is close to Calaveras big trees state park, town of Murphys, and several caverns. Quyle Kilns pottery is also nearby. A very helpful hostess (reachable and responsive via email) also made the stay enjoyable. Lots of room in the house for a big group!

Wonderful get-away, big enough for a group
This ranch was perfect for our long weekend get-away! Plenty of room for 8 adults and room for the kids to roam. The house is just far enough removed to be private, but close enough to all Murphy's has to offer. The view out the back is stunning. The 1970's decor took us all down memory lane. The donuts at the end of the driveway are the best donuts we've ever had. We'll be talking about those for some time! We'll be back soon!
