A propos de ce maisonrental
Perfect Placement, A beautiful beachfront home

My overall experience exceeding my expectations. As it was my first time visiting North Captiva, I was nervous about the process of getting to the island and stocking the fridge with ample groceries for twin teen daughters and an 8 year old boy. Shally’s (the property management) made it seamless. I took all of their suggestions- Pine Island Taxi picked us up at the airport- they tracked our delayed fight which was so helpful. We were dropped right at Island Girl charters who loaded our luggage for the short ferry ride (about 20 mins) to the island. From there, Shally’s met us, took our luggage and delivered it to our house and showed us to our golf cart which we drove to the house (following them). We opted to order our groceries at Publix using Shally’s Form. For a 25% fee Shally’s delivered the groceries to our kitchen to put away. So worth it and MUCH cheaper than Instacart. So convenient. The house was spacious enough for my family (5) and my sisters’ (5). It was just a very short walk to the pristine Caribbean-like waters of the gulf!
The island store has ice cream- that’s about it. The only restaurants open are Mangos, the poolside cafe, and Over the Waterfront, which books up quickly. In my opinion, both were overpriced for the quality of food so bringing your own groceries seems smarter. In the summer it is VERY hot on the island- too hot to utilize bike or kayak rentals for us. Kids were sometimes bored. But it was a very relaxing, safe family getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was so nice and supplied with everything that we needed! It has the most incredible views and Tropical Foliage! You will feel like you are on a Tropical Island in the Caribbean!
Love Love Loved our stay! The only negative thing about this trip was that we had to leave when our week was up!

This week felt like it was out of a dream. Everything was perfect- the transportation to the island was smooth, the location of the house cannot be beat, and the house was spacious and comfortable . We had 3 generations in our group and Perfect Placement was the perfect size and layout for us. Communication with the property managers was excellent, as was their grocery stocking service. The beach was so close to the house even our little kids carried all their own toys there. There is also a little sandy area outside of the house where the kids would sit sorting seashells for ages, and the adults could sit up on the deck and keep an eye on them. The outdoor shower was our favorite amenity- the kids thought it was so cool to shower outside. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with our family! It was a week we will never forget- and hope to make an annual vacation.

This vacation was everything we hoped it would be! The location can’t be beat. We enjoyed every sunset (and moon set) from the patio off the kitchen. This was probably our favorite place in the house! One of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had and can’t wait to get back! Thanks so much for sharing your home!

Perfect placement

This was our third time to North Captiva and the second time to Perfect Placement. It certainly will not be our last to Perfect Placement. Alicia was more than accommodating by shifting our dates a few days when one of our family members on the trip had a death in their family. The house is top notch inside and out and well appointed. The foliage surrounding this house is the best on the island. We had an issue with one of the carts not holding a charge so I called the property manager and in less than a half an hour they had a replacement there for us. Shawn and Ally were great making sure all our supplies were delivered before we arrived so we had nothing to do other than enjoy our trip. The only negative thing about this house is you have to leave!

Beautiful property. We’ve stayed on north Captiva several times and this may have been our favorite property! Property managers were great and the house had everything we needed. Sweet location with your own private path to the beach. New 6 seater golf cart was awesome. Highly recommend!!

The name of the home is apropos. The home is steps away from the beach with great views from the main living area and some bedrooms. You can watch the sunset from the upstairs deck. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook meals. Plenty of beach chairs and beach toys. We had a great week hanging out on North Captiva.

It was truly the perfect location. The house was clean and well stocked. Beaches were not busy and tons of shells right out the door. My kids had an amazing time. Lots of pool/beach toys and even a pop up kid tent and extra umbrella/chairs. We just packed our clothes and minimal essentials. Very easy and a great way to relax for a week. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed at Perfect Placement and had an amazing time! The location was amazing and we will be back! There was 10 of us so we ended up renting an extra golf cart but really did not need it. We hit Costco and a grocery store on our way to the docks and that worked out well. Really amazing beaches right out the door! Thanks

There was a group of seven us. Enough room for everyone to have there own space. The location was incredibly beautiful. We were able to sit on the porch or walk out to the beach every night to watch the sunset and the boys could fish. We had an amazing stay and would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic time at the house! Very spacious and well equipped. Loved being so close to water and not too far to walk from the Island Club pools. There was obviously a fair amount of damage from the hurricane around the island but this house you would never know there was any damage. Everything looked perfect. We went to the pool every day and watched sunsets just about every night. Even caught a fish from the surf and made fish tacos. Great place for families. Tons and tons of shells. Shally’s property management was great. Plenty of information prep was sent before our trip. I highly recommend using the grocery service. Made checking in so much easier without having to also haul any groceries. Loved this place!

This house was perfect for my family. It is on a great part of the beach where the shelling is fantastic. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The management company made it so easy for our family to travel. The island is still very much recovering, but staying in this house made it totally worth it. The sunsets and beaches were amazing. We already booked for next year!

First time on the island
Property owners were great to deal with, house was amazing. Our first all family trip and we all enjoyed it so much and we will definitely be back. I liked the laid back feel in the island away from the hustle and bustle. A lot of good family time in the beach and meals together.

Perfect for our family
The house, location, and beach access were all perfect for 4 adults and 4 kids. Easy walk to the beach and sand bar for the little ones. Saw a lot of manatees, dolphins and birds as well as great shelling. Short golf cart ride to restaurants. The water taxi was easy to schedule (and reschedule) and on time. The property management Tortuga was fantastic, very responsive and helpful for anything we needed. Will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for an idyllic island getaway.

Loved Perfect Placement
We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this house and the island. It was very clean, gorgeous views of the beach, and just a very short walk to the water. The club pool was never crowded. We loved all of the wildlife, especially the daily visits with the dolphins at dolphin beach. We cannot wait to return!

Paradise
If you are wanting to take a trip where you feel like you are on a Caribbean island but still in the states, this is the place. We absolutely enjoyed the island and exploring it. Perfect placement is just as it states. Waking up to the breathtaking views were amazing! The house is very well stocked and In need of nothing. The only complaint that I would have is that the air conditioner upstairs would always quit throughout the night. Leaving it hard for us to sleep. They would have to come every day to fix it. It was stated that we were not to turn the air conditioner below 70 at night Or it would freeze. We abided by the rules but still would not work. All golf carts provided needed repaired. They were very old and we went through three of them. I do believe this is an island thing and not perfect placement. Overall, our family had a blast and we would be back to this house.

The Perfect Placment
This is truly the PERFECT placement! There was not one negative thing about this house, the communication with the owner, or with Tortuga management! Our week could not have been any more perfect!

Relaxing Vacation
There is a lot of planning involved in getting here but it was well worth it. Definitely a relaxing beach vacation… there is nothing to do but beach and pool but that was exactly what we were looking for. The teenagers we brought were alittle bored but overall great vacation.

One of our favorite vacations
We had never been to North Captiva before and were a little overwhelmed with the planning of food, transportation etc. After our week at perfect placement, it made it all worth it! The owner responded very quickly to questions and problems. The property management team (Tortuga Properties) was very helpful also. We were greeted upon arrival with a tour and our golf cart. They are who you text if you have any problems while you’re there. We got a response right away and they came out to the house that day of you needed them to. I found the Facebook page “north Captiva visitors” to be very helpful. We found a grocery person to do the shopping for us. I read once to pack 1/2 as much as you’d think for clothes, 2x as much food as you’d think, and 3x as much alcohol. I found this to be pretty accurate:)
The house itself had more than I expected. They had a high chair/ pack and play for the baby. We had more than enough plates/pots/pans for our party of 9. We were able to do everything from bake cakes to slow cook food in their slow cooker to grill outside. They were well stocked with towels for the bathroom and beach. We were even excited about the puzzles and games they had for the older kids.
Overall-we can’t wait to come back! Hopefully soon!

Absolutely perfect
We loved everything from the location on the island to the house itself. It had everything we needed for the week: beach towels, kitchen appliances, games, etc. Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. We had our own beach access and were on the beach in a matter of steps. Golf cart was great for getting to restaurant and pool. Loved everything about our stay!

We loved this vacation!
We very much enjoyed the house, the beach, the island, the ocean, and the whole experience! The logistics were a little daunting at first, but everything went pretty smoothly! Alicia was great to communicate with and then a couple months out, you get a welcome email and you start planning with Tortuga Properties. They were helpful with suggesting ferry times to coordinate with our airplane and shuttle times. Once on the island, it was such a unique experience. My youngest loved riding in the golf carts and my oldest spent so much time shelling on the beach. My middle kid loved swimming in the ocean and the pools at the island club. My favorite room in the house was the screened in porch… we ate all of our meals out there and played cards at night. The house is spacious, well laid out and lots of things were available to use (beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, etc). We even found water shoes and a sun hat that came in handy! I also loved the rain shower in the master bath and the outside shower below the house (very handy!). You do have to plan for groceries and one day, we had to wait for some laundry detergent because a shipment did not arrive on time but it was worth it for such a unique experience. The location of the house was excellent… my kids could go down to the beach or back to the house on their own. The sandy path to the beach was really nice… and that beach was one of the best “living” beaches I have been on… we found all sorts of shells and living conchs and ghost crabs (of course anything living cannot be harmed). I will miss the sound of tinkling shells, the sunsets and the ocean views. Great experience!

Wonderful home
This 4 bedroom home was very roomy for our group of 8 adults. Love the location which is so close to the beach (walking distance) and the house has views of the ocean and beach.

Beautiful spot for a peaceful vacation
Perfect Placement is truly that--steps from the beach, with an ocean view from the deck and dining room. The house was very well-equipped, however, pack all your own condiments. Loved the flooring--easy to keep clean and fresh, and the beds were very comfortable. Guests would benefit from an instruction sheet on the TV and sound bar. Also, the golf cart could use some TLC. All that said, we had a wonderful time.

A great house, very spacious and well laid out. One of the first houses we’ve said could make us quit “house hopping” and go back to.

Appropriately named
This home is appropriately named. It had a fantastic view, and is an easy walk to the beach. The staff was great and there was great communication throughout our stay. We did not need anything, but were confident that they would have been there for us if we did. There was a small selection of beach equipment including chairs and umbrellas to use. We would definitely and probably will visit again.

Beautiful beach home
We spent a week at this beautiful beach home and loved the spacious home and location just steps from the beach. However, the property management was very unresponsive to our request for service on our golf cart that was supplied with the home. We contacted them 3 times but did not get any repair (no brakes or power steering) and no feedback for our request. The resort dumpsters were located right next to the pool, so we could smell the garbage every time the dumpsters were opened. The pool was very nice otherwise. We enjoyed the free kayaks very much and saw some dolphins with them in the marina inlet area.

Paradise
We loved Perfect Placement. The house is warm and welcoming with an amazing location to the beach. The house has plenty of space to accommodate two families with out feeling crowded. Alicia was very easy to work with and very
prompt in responding to emails. We were traveling with someone with special needs, which can come with challenges. Tortuga went out of their way to make our trip as smooth as possible. Genny from Tortuga spent extra time going over all the details with us to ensure we had everything we needed for our vacation. She even texted us the night we arrived to make sure we arrived safely. Genny really went above and beyond showing kindness and compassion to our family, which was greatly appreciated. We can't wait to come back.

Great home, terrible management company
We spent a week on the beautiful NCI and it would have easily been the best vacation we have ever had if it weren't for Tortuga Property Management. The house is wonderful and accommodated our 4 adults and 4 children well. There were so many issues that Tortuga should have taken care of, but failed. Their communication is terrible, they are dishonest, and unreliable. Our issues ranged from grocery delivery, to a flat tire on the golf cart to broken door handles, to sugar ants in the home, to a missing toilet seat, to not taking care of us at the "welcome" or departure. We had to find our own ride to the home upon arrival and to the ferry upon departure, which is one of their guaranteed services. We would love the visit the island again, and even to stay in this home, but not if it continues to be under Tortuga management.

Beautiful house and location
The house is beautiful and the location was great. The only thing to improve on is the communication methods when you need to ask questions. Texting and emailing is the only way to communicate and not always responded to quickly. We used Boats and Fun to get to and from the island and they could not have done a better job! Excellent communication and follow thru.

Perfect It Was
As with any vacation like this with multiple travel connections (car, boat, golf cart), getting in and getting three families, food, luggage etc settled made for a challenging first day. Otherwise, perfect it was. The weather, location, property owner, amenities, delivered food, couldn't have been better!

Great experience
The location was perfect, the house was clean and was perfect for our family of 5 with plenty of extra room to spare for another family. The owner and property management team was wonderful and very responsive. We would recommend this place and would stay here again.

Perfect Placement is just that, the perfect placement. The home was well stocked with everything two families of 4 needed to enjoy a beach vacation! Can't say enough about the house and location!! I would give the house and location 5/5!Tortuga Property Management was absolutely terrible. There should be a 0/5. I encourage the owners of this place to get a new management company. We reserved an extra 4-person golf cart which died halfway to our place. The guy said he would get it fixed. We texted Tortuga (their way of communicating with customers - there is no physical person on the island we figured out) and heard nothing except that "you will not be charged if you don't get your golf cart" by that night. We never got the golf cart. The place was fairly clean, but underneath the beds in all the rooms was disgusting. There were dead bugs, including cockroaches, laying there. And, when the cleaning lady left at 4pm, she told us that we needed to fold the sheets that were in the dryer. We had no wireless internet when we showed up, and the password that was given was incorrect. We figured out that there was a missing cord and used our own to get it working. We had to search and find the correct password, which was in a frame in a kitchen cupboard. We texted about this and response was "unfortunately, that's been happening lately where someone takes the cord." There was effort whatsoever to remedy the situation and get a new cord there all week.A handle from one of the patio doors came off in my hand. With no communication, some guys showed up at our house the next day while us adults were on a walk, which really scared our kids, and asked to come in to "fix something." They didn't identify who they were, didn't find or fix the handle, and left. The worst part was check out. I texted at 9:40 and 9:55 that no one had showed up to bring the 8 of us and luggage to our 10:00 water taxi. We got no response from anyone. I called Boats & Fun, who went above and beyond their duty to help us, and they gave me Duncan's personal cell number. I called that and no one answered; not only that, but the mailbox was completely full. We finally took the one golf cart we had and made 4 trips to get all of our luggage and the 8 of us to the water taxi dock. It was a very frustrating way to end the trip. Perfect placement is great! Property management not so much
we loved Perfect Placement. The location was absolutely fabulous. The house was fantastic. We only had problems with the management company. We had no supplies for two days after we arrived. Our rental golf cart was a disaster! It broke down twice, it was in horrible condition with torn seats and very dirty with trash.
