Cozy Quiet Cottage Close to Trails, Wine Country and SF!
Ce joli chalet indépendant, calme, privé a beaucoup de lumière et ressemble à une maison dans les arbres dans les séquoias. Entièrement meublée, cette chambre a un lit king size TRÈS confortable, parquet, salle de bain, cuisine (cuisinière à gaz), salon, laveuse / sécheuse pleine grandeur et un petit bureau avec un bureau et une baie vitrée. Idéal pour une retraite en couple ou comme résidence temporaire / de transition. Super endroit pour un écrivain en quête d'inspiration et de solitude. Mill Valley est un charmant village avec des magasins, d'excellents restaurants et de la musique live. Il est proche de la pittoresque ville de style européen de Sausalito et à seulement 15 minutes de San Francisco. En quelques minutes, vous pouvez être sur de belles randonnées pédestres et VTT sur le mont. Tamalpais, à Muir Woods et dans la zone de loisirs nationale du Golden Gate. Il est à 40 minutes de la région viticole, un pâté de maisons de la piste cyclable / marche de Mill Valley à Sausalito, un pâté de maisons de l'arrêt de bus à San Francisco et des connexions aux aéroports SFO et Oakland; 10 minutes du Golden Gate Bridge; 10 minutes de Sausalito (et une belle traversée en ferry sur la baie de San Francisco) Un parking dédié est dans un abri d'auto en dessous et il y a 15 escaliers menant au chalet qui est situé sur un seul étage.

I spent 4 great weeks at this cottage. The apartment is very nice and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You don’t have any noise around. The area is really very quiet and the cottage is in a perfect position very close to the Golden Gate, Mill Valley downtown, Lakspur and 101. A special mention to the owners Rusty and Bob. They are very friendly and helpful for any question I had. If I could I have give to this cottage 6

Perfect for my husband and I. Cozy, comfortable cottage perfectly nestled in nature.
Well equipped to easily settle in and Rusty was on point with keeping in touch with us to communicate details for our stay. Convenient location to everything! This was our first time staying here, but it sure won’t be our last as our son and DIL live just a short 10 minute drive from the cottage.

This was our second stay at Rusty’s Mill Valley cottage…we especially love that it is up a flight of stairs, so feel safe leaving windows open! It’s a very comfy place, bright living area and very comfortable bed. Full kitchen and laundry add to the beauty! We enjoyed morning coffee and a bagel before setting out each day.

I loved my stay at this comfortable, quiet, private cottage. It was a perfect location close to stores, restaurants and the sights I wanted to see. There were even two deer who hung out under the trees outside the carport.
I appreciated the kitchen which was equipped with everything I needed. Once I needed to contact the host about something and she responded immediately. I would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was perfect … quiet, peaceful, ample amenities, and convenient to town and area attractions. The accommodations were very comfortable, and our host Rusty offered helpful tips and was very responsive to questions. Overall, an excellent value. We would definitely like to stay again during our next visit to Mill Valley.

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing getaway with ease of access to San Francisco. Could not have asked for a more perfect location - easy travel by car AND ferry - and away from the downtown chaos. The treehouse was peaceful and perfect to R&R before and after running around the city. Hosts were awesome and super responsive, making the trip that much more enjoyable.

Great location and great cabin, we found everything you could possibly need and more. Truly enjoyed staying there and after our day trips to San Francisco we where happy to get back 'Home' to a nice and normal neighborhood. the rates are also very reasonable and the homey feeling we got beets any hotel.

We had a lovely stay in Rusty’s Cottage. It had everything we needed and more! It is in a perfect location to see the sights of San Francisco, Napa Valley, Muir Woods, Golden Gate and everywhere in-between! There is good shopping close by as well as a great range of cafes and restaurants. The cottage is in a peaceful location and we were delighted to see the deer in the garden behind the cottage most mornings. Should we return to San Francisco we would have no hesitation in booking with Rusty again.

The cabin was a lovely small apartment in a charming quintessentially Californian neighborhood. Some highlights were a nice big shower with great water action, and a very comfortable bed. Rusty was attentive. Highly recommend for couples.

Waking to the soft chewing of the deer munching on grass - but otherwise sooo quiet and the BEST bed. Very central to everything - Wild walks, restaurants, fantastic cottage.

I stayed 3 nights in this gem in Mill Valley CA. Great location near hiking trails restaurants and SF city.
Property was super clean everything was high quality and you could not ask more friendlier and attentive host. I got separate notification to check in early, because my flight was in the morning.

This cottage was lovely, perfectly situated among the redwoods and a nice walk to downtown Mill Valley. Rusty was very responsive and let me check in early. It’s way cuter in person than in the pictures. Highly recommend!

Rusty’s cozy cottage was the perfect accommodation for our short stay in Mill Valley. The cottage is well-equipped and tastefully decorated. Our host was just a quick text away and kept in touch throughout our stay. Her tips and recommendations for activities and food were much appreciated. Marin County has countless options for both! We are hikers and we loved exploring the area. We lucked out weather-wise too…it was beautiful in the last week of April ‘23. We’d love to return to this area and rental and would whole-heartedly recommend it to other travellers.

Just the right size for the two of us and well located and maintained, Rusty's cottage was an excellent base for our exploration of Muir Woods and forays into the city. Rusty communicated well with us before and during the stay and ensured that all of our questions were answered and all needs were met. We look forward to a return visit!.

Private unit above the homeowners carport. It took us a while to even figure out which house was theirs. Very comfortable bed and furniture. Nicely stocked kitchen, cute little balcony to sit outside. Good water pressure and the small office a bonus.

Very clean, attractive & comfortable for its small size which didn't feel small. Had all the amenities & supplies we needed incl. washer & dryer. Were surprised at how much was in the kit cabinets for our use incl. condiments & spices. We stayed in a lot/prepared more meals than usual due to unexpected debilitating arthritis so all such things were important to us.

Amazing cottage!
The space was just as described. Very well appointed. We loved the bright kitchen and super comfortable bed. The washer/dryer were an excellent bonus. And so private! We would definitely return.

Peaceful Oasis
I was coming into town to ride the Marin Dirt Fondo and was looking for a quiet place to relax before and after the event. This cottage had everything I could have wanted to make the stay perfect. From comfortable places to rest (bed was amazing especially after a hard ride in the Headlands), to books and movies to enjoy, a perfect sized and well stocked kitchen to incredibly fast Wifi that handled streaming with no issue, lots of fluffy towels and everything was super clean. Clearly a significant amount of thought went into this little haven. To top it off the area itself if beautiful w/ nature abound. I woke up to deer right outside the windows and enjoyed the afternoon sun rays streaming into the living room. Rusty is a wonderful host and if you have the chance to stay here, don't hesitate!

Relaxing and Restorative Nest
Rusty's lovely place was so good to sink into after hiking the hills and beaches. Also restorative, as I needed a comfortable and clean place to unwind from a stressful trip and memorial event for my sweet mom. My week here was exactly what I needed, with all necessary accoutrements to make the stay enjoyable. Thank you, Rusty---for your personal touches and help!

Comfortable stay for graduation
Rusty’s cottage is a great size for 2, very comfy bed , in its own small bedroom, kitchen adequate (you need to bring own storage supplies for food). We didn’t cook here, but made sandwiches, coffee, tea in morning. Suggestion: bring your own bath soap as there was none. Street, parking very steep - as all Mill Valley streets! Rusty was very friendly and good communications. Thankfully, the cottage has lots of windows with screens because it was very hot during our stay, but comfortable to sleep. I felt safe leaving everything open which says a lot since I’m a small tower visiting a big city! I would definitely stay again!

Inaccurate description of property
The description of the property was not accurate. The stairs up to the property were very steep and built for a mountain goat. Terrible parking. Definitely not meant for a stay of more than one or two nights. Owner was rude when we realized this property wasn’t going to work for us. VRBO and the owner would not consider at least a partial refund given the property description was inaccurate. This is last time we use VRBO!

Inspiring
Very good location, beautiful setting on the hill side surrounded by trees. Quiet neighborhood. Very good bed for my achy back. Beautiful light in the morning. I enjoyed the art around the apartment, very good taste .Hosts are good communicators and friendly. I stayed only several days but could have stayed several weeks if I could.

Good Mill Valley Base
Ideal for one person. Might be good for a couple, but a bit tight for a long stay. Nice and warm. Views of trees and deer. Excellent location. Photos are accurate.

Perfect location for access to trails and town
We loved our getaway at this property. The cottage is above a carport - it’s small but has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. We went to hike and loved the parking and the access to so many trails and to the town of Mill Valley. Rusty was very responsive and everything worked seamlessly.

Beautiful property, excellent location
This is a lovely, cheerful place to stay. It is even better than the photos on the listing. My husband and I felt completely at home here. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing a simple meal. The living area is spacious and has very comfortable seating. The bedroom is nice and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is small but efficient. There are lots of windows with nice views of the redwood trees on the property. It is very private, quiet, and feels secluded although it is very close to town and to highway 101 access. Some guests have mentioned that the driveway is steep. By Bay Area standards it is not that steep and not very long. There is an area about half way down to back in to and turn around. We have a sedan car and had no problem. If you have a question about this or anything else, Rusty is very responsive. We loved our time here and hope to return next year!

Great for Rest and Relaxation
A very cute cottage that provides all that is needed for a restful stay. The cottage provides sufficient amenities and cooking supplies to make your stay enjoyable. We enjoyed taking long walks directly from the cottage, even walking to Sausalito. Very convenient to grocery stores and other tourist sites. The neighborhood is quiet. Rusty--the host--made sure access to the unit was efficient and was communicative through the entire booking process and stay.

Just Perfect
The cottage was perfect for my needs. The location was exactly where I wanted to me. The place was clean and well equipped. I loved having a separate little office space to set up my computer. Rusty’s communication was excellent as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. A+++

Upscale and Peaceful
Sparkling clean and upscale cottage in the woods, yet so close to the bountiful treasures of Marin. Warm and welcoming to return to after a day of exploring my old haunts of my many years in Marin. And comfy bed !

Lovely property
This property was located in a beautiful neighbor hood close to restaurants and stores. Communication was wonderful with owner. The driveway was a little difficult to navigate due to the steep driveway and a bush that overhangs in the driveway. Overall I enjoyed our stay!
