Good location: within Yosemite but away from the crowds and, therefore, peaceful and quiet. The house appearance, outside and in, was outstanding. Immediately comfortable.

This property was perfect for our stay. Our activities were off site all day so we were there for breakfast, dinner, card games, and sleep. It was clean. Well stocked. Property owner was responsive. Everything worked well except the hot tub which took a long time to fill and heat, making it not useful when we needed it most after the first day of hiking. I’d happily stay here again!

Spent 4 days here as a base camp for hiking, climbing and fishing in Yosemite Valley and Tuolomne Meadows. You can’t ask for a better location! 15 min to the Valley and 1 hr to the Meadows. Quiet location. Well equipped house with just about everything you need. Owner was polite and communicated well throughout the process. We plan on staying there again.

We had a most wonderful stay. The home had everything we needed. We will come again next year. The happy cabin was our get away but also home base for our adventures. Half Dome, Tanaya Lake, Tuolumne Meadows and Redwood Grove. The cabin's location was peaceful and serene and conveniently close to the Yosemite Valley.

Well stocked and maintained house in beautiful location

It was so great to stay at this wonderful house and only have to drive about 25 minutes to Yosemite Valley! We bought all our groceries at Pioneer Market in Mariposa and cooked all meals except one with a well stocked kitchen. We also especially loved opening the glass “wall” every evening to enjoy the outdoors . We could not have asked for a better place for the 4 of us to stay!

Staying in Yosemite and close to the valley (25 min) makes the trip so much more enjoyable. We could get anywhere within the park in about an hour and avoided the long entrance lines. There was also a lot of wildlife off the deck which we loved seeing. Unit is very clean and owners are very responsive. We would definitely recommend!

Only 1/2 hr from village! Two private bedrooms each with a full bathroom! Large living areas that open up to a large deck! Level parking and level entry! Fully stocked kitchen! Good WiFi! Beautiful ceiling to floor wall mural of the waterfalls! There was a washer and dryer! We loved the air conditioning! This is 5 star property!

Cabin is in the park. Don’t have to deal with the long lines at the entry everyday. Quiet and secluded. Star show every night. Kitchen is well furnished.

Perfect property located inside park and just a short drive to Valley! Beautiful views from the huge deck. We loved the doors to the deck that we could open and enjoy the air. Property owner is so nice and responsive. Highly recommend and I hope to return again !

Great location and easy drive to the Valley.

Three adults and one cat stayed here in April, threading the needle between too much snow in Yosemite and then a flooding closure. Not only did we luck out with park entry, we lucked out finding this location INSIDE the park, saving us from the drive in and waiting at the entrance kiosk every day. We thoroughly enjoyed the backyard deck, cooked in the fully stocked kitchen every night, and enjoyed being able to spread out in a home instead of a cramped hotel room. And we have to admit, it was an unexpected pleasure to have great internet access inside the N.P. Our only issue during the stay was with the heat - we couldn't figure out how to turn it off, but after communicating with the owner, we simply used the circuit breaker when we'd go out during the day. Not a bad problem to have - that it warmed up unexpectedly, lol. We would definitely come back in the future.

Located inside Yosemite National Park, this gem was the perfect home-base for our family getaway. Less than thirty minutes to Yosemite Valley and close to highways 41, 120, and 140 to visit nearby towns. Loved being able to come back after a day of hiking and sledding to hot showers and home cooked meals. Clean home, well-stocked kitchen with breakfast nook, lots of towels and blankets. Large great-room to hang-out as a family. Large closets to hang and stash clothing and gear. All of the comforts of home, including Roku and Wi-Fi. Sun-filled porch and large outdoor area for the kids and dog to explore. Owner an excellent communicator - provided detailed directions to reach the home (a bit off the beaten path) and checked in once to ensure everything was well. Would absolutely stay at the Ahweanie again!

This private home is located just above the Yosemite Valley floor. The home is lovely inside and out. We enjoyed the stars at night and coffee on the deck in the morning. We hiked, skied at Badger Pass, and enjoyed the view. A fun and relaxing get away.

This was a great home base for exploring Yosemite during our stay. The house had everything that we needed and Foresta had several nice walks or hikes including to the Forest waterfall. Our 2 year old daughter loved exploring the house and the toys and books that they had included and it was great to be able to stay in a house that was within 30 minutes of the valley - though do keep the distance in mind in your planning if you might have to go back and forth a lot (for example, to get back for naps). Would be happy to stay here again.

My family and I enjoyed this charming cozy house. We were on Thanksgiving vacation with my nieve ages 4 & 7, and five adults.

If you are looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of staying in the Valley on a trip to Yosemite, I highly recommend this property. The location is convenient to both the Valley and Tioga Rd (an area with much to enjoy). This home provides a peaceful getaway, is well-furnished and stocked, and is an ideal location for star-gazing at night. The owner was extremely responsive as well. Our family appreciated the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home. As an aside, the master bath did not have a mirror at the time we stayed. It looked like a temporary condition that coincided with our stay, and certainly did not detract from our stay.

Our family of 5 (3 adult kids ages 21-24) really enjoyed this home. After hiking 10 miles together every day, it was nice to have our own space to spread out in . The deck is very spacious; we each got our own corner. Lots of natural light. Very peaceful at night.

Communication with Alex was prompt and VERY helpful! The cabin is a wonderful location only 20 mins from the Villages and just over and hour from the meadows. It is perfectly equipped and the washer and dryer were so helpful. They have it set up so you feel like you are staying at a friends place! We really enjoyed stargazing off the deck!

We had a great, four night stay in Foresta and would recommend it to others considering booking. The house is in a wonderful location - within Yosemite National Park - so no need to queue up to get into the park each day. The drive to the Yosemite Valley is brief and beautiful and once there it's easy to park in any of the multitude of parking areas to explore the part of the Valley you want to see. Foresta is also well located to access the Tioga road and it was only a short 20 minute drive to go and see the Sequoia grove there. It's also lovely and peaceful just staying at the house - and frankly I could have spent all week just sitting out on the deck and looking at the scenery, not to mention the incredible night skies. The house is well equipped too, kitchen resources and board games etc for the kids. We had a wonderful stay, and you will to. Thank you Alex for letting us share your beautiful house with us!

My family and I had a great time staying here. With such close access to the valley floor, we did not spend much time at the house, other than to cook dinner and sleep. The view of El Capitan and Half dome up the street was an added bonus. Alex is a wonderful host! We can’t wait to come back!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Ahweanee in Foresta. The location was a short drive to the valley. My kids enjoyed the property. It was easy to communicate with Alex. Look forward to coming back next year! =)

We stayed here for four nights with our two little boys and loved every minute. It was the perfect size and layout for us. Everything was clean and it was a short drive into the valley. Alex was kind and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.

This was a beautiful house, lots of windows so great natural light and felt like we were surrounded by nature. A short drive to yosemite, and felt so nice to come back to after escaping the crowds of the valley. Super quiet area, beautiful stars at night. Exploring the area of Foresta was a unique experience to our trip too. Would definitely recommend or stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Great location within park limits. Excellent views from the neighborhood as well. It seemed larger in real life than the pictures suggested. We will likely stay again if we come back to Yosemite!

If only the owner had had the place properly cleaned before our arrival, the trip would have been wonderful. After submitting photos of the uncleanliness to the owner, he tried to have the cleaning person come the next day (which she never did). Instead the cleaning person showed up later in the evening, an hour after we contacted the owner, asking to speak with who had complained about the job she did. Even though our baby was taking a nap and I was in the middle of cooking dinner, I walked her into the master bedroom and showed her the layers of dust still covering the bathroom vent and showed her pictures of the dust bunnies we had already swept up along the base boards. Plus I showed her the large pile of blankets, bedding, and curtains (that we had to take down) that were in queue for the washer and dryer. She quickly realized that maybe she hadn’t exactly gotten to every spot and said she’d return the next say (again she never did). After her departure I called the owner upset that we had to deal with his cleaner coming unannounced and upset with us to boot. He said he had to let the precious cleaner go for similar reasons and that this person was new, apparently this was her fist time cleaning the unit (which she also confirmed). Either-way, we have not heard from the owner since. I tried to propose a compromise regarding being compensated for the uncleanliness. I suggested he credit us back the last three nights as we would need to find new accommodations OR if he could discount us one nights’ fee we would continue to work through cleaning the rest of the bedding and blankets. Again, zero response after I made these suggestions. I did inform him the cleaner never came the next day, and again no response. I initiated communication with VRBO but they said they only try to reason with the owner to do what’s right. No response apparently from the owner and from VRBO for that matter. After not getting any reasonable solution, we left two nights early and went home. Even after cleaning everything, our child still was reactivity negatively to the dust and uncleanliness do the home. Forgot to mention that after washing the last blanket, we found a live 2.5inch millipede in the lint trap (which was insanely full after only washing one blanket), crazy to think that’s what we were using to cozy up with at night. Just an overall disappointment and saddened by the lack of integrity from the owner himself and from VRBO in general.

We had a wonderful fall weekend in Yosemite staying in Alex’s cabin. It’s in a good location, is very comfortable, and has a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the deck and the surrounding area as well it’s proximity to Yosemite National Park Valley. We’ll be back!

We had a great stay. The house is beautiful, as is the setting. A short walk down the road reveals views of Half Dome. We watched an owl sitting on a log sunning himself, and saw deer picking their way through the trees. The location is very convenient to Yosemite Valley- you don’t need to pass through a part entrance line, and the drive into the central part of Yosemite Valley is only around 30 min. The location is also convenient for visiting Tioga Rd. The house itself is comfortable, well appointed and the property owner is very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this property!

This is such a find! This well maintained property is fully stocked, tastefully furnished and so cozy! The beautiful decks are relaxing and great for star gazing. The area is quiet and beautiful and just up the road, there's a great view of Half Dome, especially at sunset. This is located inside Yosemite Park so it's very convenient to everything. The cabin itself is wonderful and accurate to the description. The location is amazing - close enough to all the attractions but away from the craziness. We loved it and if we ever returned we would stay here again.
