Sofa needs to be replaced as it sits you on the floor, bathrooms in the 2 King bedrooms are a little weird with the door directly in front of the toilet, odd placement for such a large bathroom. The theater room was really a wasted space as it has the one row of theater seating directly in front of the huge screen making you feel like you got stuck with front row seats so you're looking up the whole time (who likes that?). The road to the cabin was very steep and overgrown making it difficult to see around some blind curves. Kitchen was poorly stocked for such a large cabin. Loved dealing with Elk Springs, but don't know that I would choose this particular cabin again. Also, house keeping standards... The view would have been awesome if the windows were clean enough to see out of. I get that these rentals stay booked most of the time, but scheduling a "deep clean" every 3 months or so would really make a huge difference. Overall, great cabin for a large group.

Spacious bedrooms, each with spacious bathrooms. The views from the 2 bedrooms facing south are breathtaking! The views from the deck are somewhat obscured by the vegetation that’s about 5-10 feet away. The resort should really trim some of that off for the best of views. Upon arrival, the thermostat for the second floor was not functioning. Within that afternoon, technicians arrived and repaired the issue. I say it’s ALMOST perfect because of the horrifying driveway. Very narrow and very steep. You’ll manage it better and better with every time you drive it, but with our minivan, it felt like a gamble almost every time. I would not put my family through that scary driveway again. As much as I loved the cabin, I’ll be booking a different cabin with Elk Springs Resort for that reason alone! However, I foresee any 4-wheel drive making it up and down in a much less scary fashion.

The linen was crazy comfortable. Made it very hard to get out of bed! The view did not disappoint!! As others have mentioned, the drive up to the cabin is not for the faint of heart!! We had 6 kids and 4 adults (2 couples) and there was plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. And while it was amazing to have all those bathrooms, I was bummed to find the cabin didn’t have a tankless water heater. At the end of a long day of skiing, we had to all shower fast and in shifts to make sure no one got a cold shower. The cabin was generally clean, but in need of a deep clean. Lots of corners with cobwebs coated in dust and dusty/warped blinds. The home theater system was nice—but complicated. I ended up have to call maintenance out to assist because I was terrified of disconnecting anything after all the emails. It wasn’t set up to easily use streaming services, and the generic directions provided didn’t help. The gentleman that came was super helpful. Overall, those items were pretty minor, and we would definitely book again.

There was plenty of seating space for our group both in the living and kitchen areas. While there were no shortage of cabinets in the kitchen, it was lacking some decent assortments of pots/pans as most items were small, whcih would not be usefull for a cabin that sleaps so many. There were however plenty of plates, bowls, utensils, and glasses.

The sheets were dirty in every room like they were never changed. The dryer was not functional and cockroaches were in a lot of different places. Overall it could be a nice place. The cabin was spacey plus the view was amazing. However, there was dead bugs around the cabin in different places. Mold spots on the ceiling in the theatre room, along with multiple wet spots on the ceiling on the first spot. The kitchen ceiling looked as of it was going to fall through. The drive up to the hill was questionable & scary. The road up is super narrow and steep. They recommended that a 4wd car be used ONLY in the winter time, however, they need to recommend all the time. The driveway has two huge potholes on both sides where it made our cars get scraped up. If you are not going fast enough turning in, your call will get scraped up.

It was centrally located and we did not feel we were travelling too far to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The road to reach the cabin was a bit scary the first time, but we got used to it over our stay. To see the amazing views this cabin offers, a steep driveway is needed. There were some issues with the refrigerator and air conditioning that we had to deal with. Each time we called, professional and courteous maintenance workers were dispatched. The concerns did distract a bit from our vacation. I would not recommend this cabin unless those issues were fixed - especially the air conditioning as you can tell there is mold in the laundry room and game room. Other than that, upon arrival the cabin was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had 12 in our group and we were able to sleep comfortably and had enough seating at the table for meals. Elk Springs was very communicative before/during our stay. I would consider renting with them again, just not this particular cabin.

There are 4 bedrooms and each has its own full bathroom. There is a full bath also on the main floor. The kitchen is stocked with bare basics when it comes to kitchenware cooking utensils and dishes. We were quite frustrated that there were NO cleaning supplies. No trash bags, no toilet paper rolls, no soap for the dishwasher (yet there is a sign on it asking that you only use the specific ones provided, but none were). When we arrived the dishwasher was full of dishes, there were dirty dishes stacked on the floor at the top of the stairs leading to the bathroom and the floors were dirty. There was also trash in the trashcan that wasn't in a bag, but underneath which took us some time to locate the smell. The driveway is a bit intimidating for anyone who isn't from the mountains, so don't be surprised by that. It isn't unsafe, just intimidating. It was disappointing that with the price we paid for a full week stay that there were no extra rolls of toilet paper, no cleaning supplies, soaps, detergents, nothing. Not even a sponge. So after arriving, and not being allowed in until later than our original check in time due to cleaning crew not being done, we had to go back out to the store (20 minutes away is the nearest) to purchase paper towels, cleaning supplies and other essentials. Within one hour of being there and walking around the cabin, our white socks were nearly black. We realized just how dirty the floors were. The couch pillows are falling apart and all torn up. And one of the master bedrooms with a king has terrible bedding that is falling apart, torn and in awful condition. Other than the cleaning crew being very slack, I would say the property itself has a lot of potential to be an amazing rental.

The bunk beds were not made up, the was a light burnt out in one of the bathrooms, another bathroom had standing water in the tub, the floors were filthy, and I mean turn your feet black filthy! The air conditioner leaked water onto the floor constantly and the smell of mildew/mold in the game room was awful! Maintenance did come and replace the light and housekeeping was called to clean the floors, but there was no difference after. I ended up having to clean them all myself. The location of the cabin was great and the view is amazing.

Cabin tour video on website shows clean Luxurious Master Bath with jetted soaking tub & wooden wall panels in bedroom; but bathroom is actually plain (no jetted tub), very dingy & walls of bedroom are a hideous shade of yellow that's not calming/luxurious (website manager needs to update this immediately).2. Cabin tour video shows a different elevation of the house & includes images of a lofted floor with Foosball/air-hockey tables that aren't in house.3. Cabin tour video shows different living room first then shows actual living room with nicer furniture than what's provided (loveseat badly broken & so uncomfortable it should be removed).4. Dish washer in Kitchen isn't actually attached to the underside of countertop & falls out of opening when you pull out bottom dish drawer (dangerous).5. Door Trim is splitting as you enter Theatre Room & there's two different types of flooring due to what seems like water damage in the ceiling & 1 of the walls (you can actually see the discoloration).6. Grille Grates on Patio space were left FILTHY by the previous renters & should have been cleaned by maintenance prior to my arrival to the cabin.7. Hot tub doesn't heat above 100 Degrees, so we didn't even use it at all, sad since we wanted to.8. Interior Air Quality poor (HVAC Return filter).9. Pool table in theater room seriously needs repair & re-felting from the 1st day we arrived... one bumpers dead, one broken stick & no bridge stick.10. Serious pothole at top of driveway make it hard not to spin tires then scrape the bottom of SUV & statue outside of bear in cabin tou

The number of rooms and room size were perfect for our group of 11. We put those two large dining room tables to use they were absolutely perfect. The hot tub during our stay was always occupied!

The only thing drawback was the drive up the mountain, it freak some of our drivers out and we purposely tried to not go out at night due to having to drive up the mountain with no lights along the way up.

The internet is slow and while I would normally say oh well it's the mountains, the xfinity box could be upgraded for free and remedy this issue (I did this at my house). The long driveway past the other cabins is only bad if you aren't use to that type of incline/decline. The last part at the top is manageable, but there is space to improve it. With just a little gravel or asphalt the top curve could be widened making it more accessible and easier for visitors. Several of my family members were extremely nervous with just the last portion and refused to drive up or down in the dark, which hindered our vacation seriously. I also this light or reflectors along the side of the road/driveway would significantly improve the safety and confidence of guest drivers. While very satisfied with the cabin, I would not stay here again unless the driveway conditions improved. The view is absolutely beautiful! Overall 4 out of 5 stars.

Well that was misleading because we had trouble getting up to the cabin and there was no snow or anything. With the way the road is made getting to it I think you need 4 wheel drive year round. Other than that our stay was fantastic. The pictures on the website don’t do this cabin any justice. It was beautiful. Very clean and well kept. All of the beds were extremely comfortable. Not only did each room have its own bathroom they each had spacious closet space as well. Everything worked like it was supposed to. Not to mention the view was amazing. My family didn’t want to leave. Would definitely recommend to others.

Our only complaint is that all of the bedrooms are on the upper floor making it difficult for our elderly parents. (Family vacation, party of 9). We did have a problem with the sewer line (outside thank goodness) and the staff were all very nice but unfortunatly we had to be moved and cut our stay short due to other reservations coming in. Would definitely recommend this cabin for evryone able to climb stairs. Driveway is definitely an adventure, on the top of the mountain, but we found it alot of fun overall!

Reviewer Comments: When booking this cabin online, the pictures looked amazing. We were having a large family trip with multiple families to celebrate our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Upon arriving at the cabin, the entire floor was covered in dead millipedes! I immediately called Elk Springs Resort office and they told me that it was just millipede migrating season and this was normal. I literally swept up two full dustpans of these millipedes. The office did send a maintenance tech out that night to spray a couple cans of Raid though. Over the next 5 nights, we continuously sprayed bug killer and contacted the office to spray again. These millipedes were literally coming out of the walls. They were on the floors, walls, and dropping from the ceilings. After a couple days past, we called again for help. This time the office sent out a pest control company to spray. What ever he used worked much better than the cans of Raid that the maintenance guy was using up till this point. It worked so well that now we began seeing cockroaches coming out. They were found upstairs in the bathrooms, living room, and kitchen. The pest control guy said he thought these might be "wood roaches" and maybe just flew in when the door was open. Either way, we spent the last couple night cleaning millipedes and cockroaches multiple times a day. The laundry room was the worst.

Other issues that we encountered was that the kitchen faucet was very loose and had a very hard time shutting off. We told the maintenance guy about this on the first night, but they were unable to repair before we left.

There was a large black mold/mildew stain on the ceiling by the laundry room caused from the AC condensation dripping. The maintenance tech also said he was aware of this because they were having issues with the AC unit the day before we arrived.

Aside from the bugs, faucet, and mold, the cabin was beautiful. The view was amazing and we were very happy with the large

It however, had tons of dead and live centipedes everywhere, upstairs and down, even in bathtubs. Pest control should have come out BEFORE renting out this cabin. We had to sweep them every day. It was very disappointing for what we paid that the cabin was lacking in maintenance and TLC. Kitchen faucet constantly leaked, dishwasher not anchored in wall, clothes dryer does NOT dry (probably clogged roof vent), hot tub jets not working. We are puzzled as to why so many things have gone unrepaired. Management group should check for maintenance and repairs regularly but apparently they do not. If the maintenance items were handled we would recommend, however in the condition it is currently in, we would not.

Reviewer Comments: My family of four have stayed in numerous cabins with Elk Springs in the past and we have always loved the quality, cleanliness, and spa-like bathrooms of each one. This summer we decided to invite my parents and my brother and sister-in-law to vacation with us. I raved about the quality and luxuriousness of the Elk Springs cabins and the instant we set foot in Knockin on Heaven’s Door, it was a huge let-down for them and for me. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! On day one, when we first entered, the floors were covered with millipedes (dead and alive). We had the resort crew come out several times during our stay to attempt to take care of the issue but the millipedes kept returning every day, all over the floor in every room. They would accumulate in the sinks and tubs as well. We tried to spend as much time as possible outside of the cabin to avoid them. I understand it was likely due to the time of year and we’ve delt with the occasional spider and other creepy crawler in other cabins, but these millipedes were very invasive and just too much. In addition to the pest issues, there were a number of maintenance and housekeeping issues with this cabin as well. The kitchen faucet was in very poor condition and kept leaking. The hot tub jets barely worked (the resort attempted to fix this and the kitchen faucet). One of the showers on the second floor sprung a leak on our last night and dripped water from the kitchen ceiling onto to the floor. The theater system was not wired correctly. One of the fridge drawers was broken. The bathrooms were poorly lit and were not the luxury style we expected from other Elk Springs cabins we stayed in (photos of the bathrooms for this cabin were not posted on their website at the time of booking). A laundry basket was not provided and the resort did not provide enough bath towels for the eight of us. This overall cabin experience was a huge disappointment.
