We’ve had a difficult few years and the beach is our happy place. We loved the convenience to the beach and it was beautiful every day. First time staying this far up, usually Hatteras. This house was convenient to everything. We found peace and joy.

Great location with short walk to beach via toe path. Well appointed cottage with many cooking essentials and powerful outdoor shower.

simple 3 bedroom beach house, basic amenities, all you need. Nice covered porch, close to the beach. Needs a good cleaning between guests and a deep clean at least once a month. Other than that the place was perfect for a small family. Would suggest a small gas grill instead of charcoal grill, time for new bedding and towels. We always bring our own so we were ok. Kitchen had all you need, and a Keurig. Washer and dryer was perfect. Thank you, Carol

The cottage was great for our little family! The less than 2 minute walk to the beach was very convenient! The kitchen had everything we needed and the deck was a nice place to enjoy some meals with a little view of the beach!

Our week at the Ideal Place was great! Everything at the house was as expected and more. The beds were super comfy and the beach was easy to access (although we didn’t see the beach as much as wanted because of rain). There were a lot of other activities nearby including awesome ice cream at Bucks! Wright bros museum was very interesting and the aquarium was a pleasant surprise.

This house was exactly what we needed for the week. Christina was very pleasant and quick to respond. Just a 4 minute walk to the beach.

This place was the perfect getaway. A short walk to the beach a, great back deck to enjoy coffee and a comfortable indoor space. Check-in process was very easy with the lockbox. We loved our stay and wish we could have booked it for another week!

Great cozy house close to the beach! Property was clean when we arrived and owners put together a great guide of things to do and see and places to eat around Kitty Hawk!

The pictures/listing were quite accurate. The property was a little dated, but very well kept and clean. The location of the property was great, just a short walk from the beach. We came with our kayaks and really appreciate the ample storage under the house where we could easily lock up the boats when we weren't using them. Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain during our visit, but that did make us really appreciate the covered section of the back deck.

The landlord was responsive . The railings and decking are worn. Splinters from the hand rails and nail heads have lifted on deck. Nicely outfitted with plenty of appliances and beds were very comfortable

We stayed with our two adult kids and I’ve if their friends as a graduation from college gift to the youngest. House was great—just as expected. Very nice to have livens provided. Kitchen well equipped. Clean and quick walk to beach. Loved eating on the deck where we could see the ocean. Thank you!!👍🏻😃

We enjoyed the cottage very much, loved that it was only a very short walk to beach. We have already told other family and friends about renting the cottage.

Charming beach cottage easy walk to the beach. Very convenient to all Kitty Hawk restaurants, shops and attractions. Pantry space in short supply but everything else you would expect is fine. Great place for the price.

This house was a great stay for our family. 4 adults and 1 2 yr old child. We absolutely loved it. The best thing about this home was the super easy walk to the beach. Right through the back yard, there’s a path that gets you to the beach In literally 3 minutes. It was like staying in semi oceanfront without the price. There was plenty of room for us to sleep and congregate in the living room. The home was clean ad well cared for. There’s a nice little covered porch in the back as well as open decking to enjoy the warm days, Disney’s and ocean view!. The house had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable although the bunk beds weren’t as comfy as the other ones. The water pressure was great, which isnt always the case in these homes. There was lots and lots of room under the house to keep our beach stuff. This is where the outside shower was that was warm and wonderful . We were super happy staying here and would highly recommend!There were only few things that we would have liked to have had updated, the furniture in the living room could use an update, The high top table to eat at was a bit awkward to get around and the kitchen utensils, pots and pans etc, were limited. These very few things did not detract from our stay . So many choices for take out food that was super close and super good and we really didn’t want to cook bc of that. it was a clean comfy wonderful beach home and we’d definitely stay there again. The owners were easy to communicate with and very nice. Book early, I imagine this house is hard to get bc of all it’s great features. Thanks to the owners for providing us with a fabulous vacation!

The cottage was like when I was a kid when my family and I would spend a week in the summer in OBX, it brought back lots of good memories for me.The neighborhood was nice and quiet and a short walking distance to the beach.My son and I also we're fortunate enough to catch some fish from the surf!Thanks for the memories we made during our stay at OBX!

The cottage was fine, the location was just what we wanted. We enjoyed coffee on the deck (facing the sunrise) with almost a view of the ocean. The queen beds were comfy and the kitchen is well stocked (maybe too well stocked). There was hardly any room for our groceries. My only complaint is that it did not seem clean. The cleaning job was very cursory (lots of dust and sand apparent). This made it less comfortable and homey for me. I'm not obsessed with cleanliness but for Being charged a cleaning fee (or even no cleaning fee) I would expect there to be little to no sand and dust as opposed to what I found. I mentioned this to the owner and did not hear back. Maybe in the future the house will be cleaner. Mostly we had a great week and enjoyed ourselves.

The rental was perfect for our family of four. It was such a short walk to the beach which was great for our 2 year old with all of her stuff and for going back for her nap time. It was great to be able to leave all of our stuff on the beach if we needed to go back to the house for a couple of hours. The amenities were great, everything was there. The beds were super comfortable too! The house was close to shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

My only negative comments are the terrible spiked hitchhiker. My 6year old grandson loves to run barefoot and it was an awfully painful experience. I know you have no control of your neighbors but the brick house needs a lot of tidying .Its quite an eyesore. We did have wonderful family reunion including my 97 year old mother ,my siblings and grandchildren.

"The Ideal Place" was a comfortable and clean beach home with good water pressure and room for everyone. It is only about 150 feet from the beach if you take the path that runs from the backyard through the neighbor's yard and is overgrown with pricker bushes and small cactus plants. The prickers stick to everything and hurt like hell! You end up carrying them into the house with you and when you try to take one out of your foot it gets stuck in your finger! OUCH! We had to leave our shoes outside in order to avoid stepping on any in the house barefoot. That was our biggest complaint. Other than that we had a good time. I would recommend to the owner that they try to do something about the prickers and cactus in the yard (which by the way you can not do anything in the yard because of these) and the pathway to the beach. Cleaning up/trimming back the pathway or putting down some pavers would be a good idea.

This property is great if you want to be close to the beach. Nothing fancy here and no extras. But comfortable, clean and convenient for beach access. Owner is easy to reach and accommodating. Great sunrises can be seen off the back deck in this quiet neighborhood. Would recommend for a family of 3-4.

Awesome location. AC worked great! Really enjoyed our stay. Sofa and carpet could be updated or cleaned. I spoke with owners to let them know. Kitchen was wonderful. Nice and roomy. I would stay there again. Loved the outside shower house. Be careful when going to the beach it's like a land mind getting through cactus plants. spurs everywhere stuck in your shoes. Might want to leave shoes outside so they don't get stuck in the carpet. You will end up stepping on them! ouch!

Excellent place to stay. Well equipped kitchen, washer+dryer, dishwasher, TV/DVD/lot of movies and books, etc. My and my wife with our teen and preteen kids were more than comfortable there (it is for more people, actually). The owners responded almost immediately to a few messages I sent them with minor questions (thanks!). AC, fans in all bedrooms (3) + living-room, etc. Walking distance to the beach, which is pretty convenient. However, this Spring Break, we had decided to bike. A lot of interconnected bike routes (not highway shoulders, but really bike routes safe for kids) all the way from Kitty Hawk up to Duck, and the beautiful woods of Southern Shores. Almost no hotel nearby, so it is quite. Supermarkets, pharmacy, gas station, convenient stores, urgent care, cafe, etc., less than 1 mile around. Part of the sea can be seen from the porch, wide and comfortable. We enjoyed a lot this place.

Walking disstance to 3 local seafood restaurants serving fresh seafood, a great Mexican resturant, beach shop, and local tackle store with knowledgeable owner for fishing pier or surfside! Watch out for cactuses though! Can't go barefoot till you get to the beach. Cable in every room and the house is fully stocked with everything but food! Enjoyable vaca with the fam!

My family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) enjoyed a week stay. The accommodations were just as described. Comfortable but not luxury. The beach is a short walk past the neighbor’s house, cross a 2 way street, and walk past 1 more house. The beach wasn’t crowded. The neighborhood was quiet with easy access to restaurants, grocery and other activities. We cooked dinner most night and found the kitchen was stocked with the basics. The beds were comfy. WiFi was much appreciated.

Very pleasant vacation! Great location and we loved the outside shower. House has every thing you would need, great dvd selection, books and games. Kitchen well stocked, dishes , blender, lots of cookware. We would definitely stay again!
