Sophie’s Village House is gem. The property has everything for a longer stay. Contrary to many holiday apartments in Mirtos, it is spacious. Maria and her husband Manolis are wonderful hosts. They welcomed us with a fridge full of groceries. They dropped off clean laundry every week and were immediately at hand the one time there was a small problem. The view of the sea and the mountains from the large terrace is stunning. The location is excellent, outside the center, yet within a few minutes walk from shops, restaurants and the beach. The place is very quiet. After a stressful year at work, we needed peace and quiet, and we found it. Highly recommended.

It would be nice to have a pair of scissors in the kitchen.

given the village layout parking near the apartment was not realistic but it was not an issue. We drove up to the apartment for loading and unloading then used the village car park 5 minutes walk away.. no problem 😊

The view was good but not the best because there is power line pole blocking the view to the sea. The appartment spacious. I recommend to visit Sarakinas Gorge near by. It is a beautiful canyon with a river and waterfalls. Also Myrthos is a nice and quiet place to spend a holiday.

The bed of the master bedroom was terrible. There is a hard spring mattress and no any soft top layer. You can feel the springs. Our back, pelvis and shoulders hurt very much and caused us sleepless nights. Even if we are young and healthy persons. We asked the owner if she could help us but she didn't want to help as she would had to drive to buy a proper mattress topper which she didn't want to do. She offered us to us to use the single beds which were actually even worse. Also the pillows were terrible, big and hard. Made my neck hurt. Paying this much to sleep of the sofa is not ok. I told this to the owner but she didn't care. After that we didn't feel very welcome. Some other things we didn't like: 1. The air condition in the master bedroom dripped about 1 litre of water on the floor one night and our stuff got wet. 2. The toilet lid does not stay up at all and the first time went to pee the lid dropped and there was piss everywhere. New lid would cost like 20€. Why won't the owner buy a new one? 3. Last two days of our stay the toilet smelled horrible for some other reason. 4. TV didn't work properly. 5. Oven light was not functioning. New lamp would cost like 2€. 6. High voltage power socket in the kitchen is off the wall and a serious safety risk. 7. Pepper mill was broken and almost ruined our dinner. 8. Kitchen cabins are full of stuff so you don't have any space to store your own food. 9. There are old left overs of previous guests that are too old to use. 10. The other air condition controller is broken. 11. The kitchen cutting board is old and disgusting. Why won't the owner just buy a new one or two? Those cost like 3€. 12. Almost everything was outdated or broken. Like all the lanterns. I hate to give a bad review but we slept very badly for 7 nights, we had physical pain and the owner was not very kind. The other things were not as significant as the bad beddings.

Fantastic view to the sea and the mountains from the LARGE terrace. (2 sunbeds, huge umbrella, garden furniture and plants) A big bonus is the washing machine and the drying rack. The appartment is equiped with all kind of things you might need on your first day (including food, bottle of wine, ice cubes etc) The appartment actually looks from the equipment that someone is actually living there (including glue, sewing kit, scissors etc) Complete baby equipment (bed, chair) available The appartment is located on the first floor of a three floor building and therefore gives you the impression to live with the locals (incuding the grandmother's cat) If you stay in Myrtos, check out Tertsa Beach and go hiking through the Sarakina Gorge

Please beware that Myrtos is sloped towards the sea and the appartment looks over the village. You therefore have to consider some stairs and steeper roads to reach this fantastic place. The bathroom is quite tiny compared with the spacious appartment living area and the toilet lid does not stay in position during use.

Maria was super friendly. She welcomed us with a Cake and cookies, and has a basked of basic necessities ready for us. The apartment is clean and conforms to pictures. The terrace is wonderful. Location is very good as you are close to commodities, a short walk to the beach, out of the buzz of the village so that you can enjoy the wonderful terrace with panoramic view. Below lives Maria's mother who helped us out with a spare set of keys when we had accidently locked ourselves outside. We had a lovely and relaxing week in the apartment. I can only highly recommend this place.
