The location was great for our needs with good hiking and pleasant views. There were lots of beds but one bed was too firm for my husband and I. One suggestion, the living. room was hard to move around in because there was too much furniture. The wood stove was wonderful.

Treetop Cottage has become a special place for me and my family to spend a long weekend in the Fall. Carolyn Snyder is wonderful to make arrangements with - so easy and so kind. The home is located amid tall trees with lots of privacy and quiet. Being there in the Fall {October} is beautiful with the leaves changing color. The home is spotless and everything you need for a vacation is already there, except your personals and food items. This is the second October we have spent a long weekend there and we love it. We had a very pleasant stay in the woods! Plenty of beds with a wood burning stove and an extra large living room made for a super cozy night-in around a large coffee table with friends. Superb accommodations for a large group–we highly recommend!

We selected this property because we wanted to be in the woods. The home was perfect, there were 4 of us and we each had our own room. There is no need to bring anything with you, the home has every appliance you could need and plenty of paper products. Thank you for our stay!

Very cozy with many beds!

The property was tucked away in a beautiful setting! Our group loved being secluded amongst the trees and still easy to get to and from Berkeley Springs. We took full advantage of the pool, nearby hikes, and visited the local brewery. Fun and relaxing! Unfortunately the property overall didn't feel as clean and updated as the description touts. The deck was covered in dead, rotten leaves– what would have been an otherwise great amenity.

Lights out in the bathrooms. Birds in the entrance way frightened us. A missing tile in the upper bathroom. Still everything made our stay a delightful event.

Cozy contemporary cabin with ample seating and dining capacity. Comfortably slept four Adults across the four bedrooms. We took full advantage of the hiking trails and wood burning stove. One of the better-stocked kitchens we've encountered in VRBO houses, which was a pleasant surprise. Charming wooded community was easy to access coming from Metro DC, and downtown Berkeley Springs was darling, should you get bored relaxing at the house.

Working with Carolyn Snydor was "a dream". Patiently helped me through reservations and all my questions. Home is situated in the mountains and it's a beautiful setting. Sun rising over the mountain top in the morning was lovely. Close to the town of Berkeley Springs and Cacopon State Park. Lots to do in town or just to sit on the huge deck enjoying the peace and quiet. Fully stocked kitchen, clean, comfortable beds and large living space. All you need to bring is food and your personals. My grandchildren loved the place as did I. Hoping we will be able to return in the spring. Thank you Carolyn. It was a wonderfully, peaceful weekend!

We were very pleased with the accommodations. The house is tucked in the woods so the turning leaves in October were a beautiful site from both the living room and the outdoor deck. The house was close to good restaurants but when we did cook in the house the kitchen had everything we needed. The house was so comfortable that when it was time to check out we didn't want to leave. Carolyn was super attentive. We are very pleased.

Berkeley Springs is the perfect meeting place for our families that live in DC and Pittsburgh! We enjoyed spending time at the pool and hot tub, shopping in town, hanging out on the beautiful deck, and most of all spending time catching up with family. Thank you Carolyn for sharing your beautiful place with us and helping our family make memories that will last a lifetime!

We very much enjoyed our stay in the cabin! It was a little smaller then we thought but still had everything we needed! The pool/hot tub was amazing and so fun to swim in the mountains! Kitchen is well stocked, had plenty of seating and we enjoyed the back deck and screened in porch!

Treetops Cottage is in a lovely wooded area near Coolfont Resort. It's an easy 4-5 minute drive to Berkeley Springs and its attractions. Because it's an older property, the bathrooms are small but adequate. Decor is tasteful, internet is fast, and entertainment includes Netflix and other premium channels. The area is beautiful and full of birds. We even spotted a pileated woodpecker! The owner is wonderful and almost instantly responds to inquiries.

I had read the reviews on-line.There was a recent review from someone who noted numerous issues listed related to how dirty and unkempt the house was.They noted the property needed painting & upkeep. I reached out to the host Carol to let her know I was interested in the property but concerned about the comments. She promptly responded that she was in the process of having the property updated, painting the home, updating furniture & “top to bottom deep cleaning & overhaul”. I was impressed by the response & the planned improvements, so I booked the home. Additional follow-up from Carol noted the painting, update & full cleaning was done & new furniture was purchased for the deck. However, when we arrived, that was not the case. We were told that the guests in the the house before us left early on Sat.By Sun., there was plenty of time for cleaning the house.However, it seemed there was a quick run through to just hit the major items. I had been informed that a full top to bottom deep cleaning was done, but we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the house.This is specifically what I asked the host about! I don’t know how “top to bottom deep cleaning” had been completed at all: floors were tacky/felt like your shoes were sticking; multiple areas under tables, corners, window sills, under small appliances on the counters in the kitchen had numerous dead bugs, dirt and dust; windows were filthy/appeared to have a film on them; carpets appeared dirty and stains on several of them; bedroom had a very musty smell around and in the closet. We had to wipe everything down the first night! The house did not appear to have had a full updating. It appeared outdated & worn. A sloppy paint job was done on walls, but trim was not painted.In addition, the dishwasher leaked & we didn’t have use of that most of the week. The AC stopped working for nearly 2 days until it was fixed, & the one toilet was leaking. We noted several safety issues – cord coming out wall on deck as you go out the door onto the deck (trip hazard), 220 baseboard heaters on wall against tub, walkway to deck has no railing, & sectional couch pieces aren't connected together-they separate when you sit down. This house did NOT get the deep cleaning & overhaul we were promised. I would have NOT rented this place, hadI had known the true status of the repair & cleanliness. I had trusted what the host told me in the beginning, but the real status was disappointing and not accurate!!

My family and I rented this property for the weekend of May 20th. It was just newly spring cleaned from top to bottom and was spotless. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were firm but surprisingly comfortable. The new sectional in the living room was nice and comfy. Plenty of sitting room for everyone which I appreciated. As for the other reviewers who mentioned bugs and spiders we saw very few and they were outside. You need to take into consideration you are staying in a wooded area and this is expected! Carolyn was very nice and responded quickly. I would definitely rent this property again!

This rental was decent for what we needed it for. We stayed for a casual bachelorette weekend. It was definitely dingy and I’m need of some TLC. When reaching out to the property owner about a recent bad review of a sticky kitchen, I was promised the trusted cleaning lady would be pulling everything out and doing a spring cleaning of such before our arrival. It was clear that the cleaning lady has not done that. We washed everything before using it, it just didn’t feel clean. It is woodsy and the view and atmosphere around the cabin was great. It just is in need of serious updating in the bathrooms and well as a good floor to ceiling wash down. There were dead ants all over the place upon arrival. Many traps were set out and again, understanding we are in the woods, but it was a major turn off to see dead ants piled in the sliding part of the door. Could use a good exterminator for the inside. Most of the beds were comfortable for us, it was stocked with many cooking items we would need so that was nice but it just had an overall feeling of being dingy. I would stay here again if it was cleaner.

The pictures online are not completely accurate. There was one less couch in the family area. In the bedrooms with multiple beds, the beds didn't have matching bedcovers like in the online pictures. This wasn't a comfort issue obviously but it just looked janky. The deck and screened in porch were more cluttered than in the pictures. The rug upstairs was dingy. The cabinet doors and shelves in the kitchen were tacky to the touch and we saw some ants. The front door area wasn't prepared for guests. We had to shovel leaves out of the way before unlocking the front door. It seems to me that the kitchen is due for a deep cleaning, as well as the carpet. The bathrooms also needed a fresh coat of paint. Overall, I was disappointed in comparing the online pictures with the actual property.

We loved Treetop. Great location - large bedrooms, comfortable beds, reliable Wifi, and great living room and fireplace. Will stay there again!

Originally from West Virginia, my family is now scattered in three different states (none of which are West Virginia), so it was so nice to bring them all together in our former mountain home state and stay at this house in Berkeley Springs. From the beginning, the owner was extremely communicative with me, emailing and calling a couple days prior to our stay to check if there were any questions she could answer. She even coordinated with the house cleaner so that my family could arrive a couple hours before check-in time to accommodate our young children's naptime. The house was mostly as described in the listing, however there were a few maintenance issues needing attention that we noticed shortly after arrival. A couple of the blinds were broken, a leak caused the carpet in one of the bedroom closets to become completely saturated, and the kitchen faucet leaked from the handle. Also if you have small children in your party, a couple of things to note: the house has a spiral staircase that goes up to the loft bedrooms, but the balusters are separated so widely that someone could easily fall through. Might be a good idea to bring baby gates! Also, there is an exterior walkway to the deck that doesn't have any railing and drops off to a concrete block which stabilizes one of the deck posts. Aside from these safety concerns, we were pleasantly surprised to find a highchair and booster seat included in the property. Also, during our stay, there was a water leak in the neighborhood where the house is located, which shut off all water to the house. This happened late at night on a holiday, but when I texted the owner to make her aware, she immediately responded and kept me apprised of developments with the repairs through the next day. We were very appreciative to have such a responsive host when an unanticipated emergency like this happened. Overall, it was a very cozy stay, and we enjoyed being so close to Coolfont Resort where we took our kids to the indoor pool.

The cottage was spacious, comfortable, and relaxing. The neighborhood was great for walking and hiking. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great place to stay for a getaway! Perfect spot and had all supplies needed. Only complaint was kitchen was very small which made it hard to do thanksgiving. But perfect location!!

We had a great weekend in the home. Lots of room for 4 friends to spread, with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of bedding, towels, blankets and pillows. It felt very restful and private in the woods. It was too chilly to sit on the nice porch but very cozy to stay inside. We would return!

We were super pleased with the stay, and the cabin was fully stocked and clean on arrival. The property is semi private with a great view off the back porch, with a ton of space for board games etc.

Cute town, nice house, perfect weekend away.

We found the house to be a well stocked kitchen. This was good because we were a ways from town and cooked most of our meals. The photos on the website were outdated once we were in the house things were different. We were really disappointed in the fact that it was not clean. I did contact the broker about the bugs and cleanliness. She responded back that they were working on the bug situation with an exterminator. There were dirt piles under the tv, the lampshades were full of dust and cobwebs. The place needs a deep cleaning. We did find the broker responsive and hope the issues we brought up will be taken care of for future renters.

A great week to relax in the woods. The cabin is a great home to spend time with family and friends. We enjoyed playing outside, in the pool, and on the tennis courts while it was sunny. There are trails for walking and friendly, quiet neighbors. When it was raining, there was plenty of space indoors to play games. Pleasantly surprised by the newer appliances in the kitchen. It was just what we were looking for in a week away.

We arrived at the house to find the Refrigerator in disrepair. Carolyn (owner) was very responsive to our problem. She had the unit replaced. We all had a great stay. Thanks

This location was lovely, it had everything we needed! The big comfy couches in the living room were perfect for gathering and playing games. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of room for sleeping. Nice showers and the hot water never faltered.

Wonderful setting, quiet and relaxing from start to finish. The house was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.Thanks for the great memories.
