We really enjoyed our stay. Having a private boat slip on property was great. Only downside (not their fault) is that you can't get a boat and trailer down to the house. Road is too narrow and there is no place to park a trailer. We used the public park and boat ramp with no issue.

We had a wonderful four night stay at Shelly and Chuck's property in April 2024. We originally booked because of the timing of the eclipse, but I can honestly say that we would have had just a wonderful time even if the clouds had not cleared last minute to allow us to view the eclipse. The property is very much as pictured - it is up in the trees in a very homey feeling space - great vibes from the moment you walk in. Both of our kids slept out on the screened porch given the nice April weather - so great. If you want white paint and generic all new everything, this is not your spot, but if you want to feel welcomed into a homey retreat with fantastic owners next door and the lake / dock / water toys right out your doorstep, you cannot beat this special place! Shelly was amazing communicating both in advance of the trip and once we were there. She and Chuck made us feel like welcome guests, though we had plenty of privacy. They have several kayaks and a couple paddle boards, so our group of five spent a bunch of time on the dock and in the water. The "Lillypad" is as fun as it looks in the pictures - we used it every day we were there. Shelly even was kind enough to run a load of laundry for our teen who had arrived straight from a school trip - now that's above and beyond! 10 of 10 I cannot recommend this enough. Were it not for the eclipse, I'm not sure we would have ever gone to Lake Austin... now I am wanting to go back. Thank you Shelly and Chuck!

If your looking for a peaceful getaway in beautiful nature, this is it. the home is adorably decorated with a western rustic vbe and feels somewhat like a lodge mixed with a tree house. The owners were wonderful and made our stay extra special! We are so glad we found this gem! ❤️

This was our second Christmas stay at this house and it does not disappoint! The house is exactly what you want from a lake side property. Shelly and her family are incredible hosts. The house is up steep stairs, so be warned that people (or dogs) with mobility issues will have a hard time getting to the house. But otherwise just right if you are looking for welcoming and relaxed. The kitchen is well appointed, the beds are comfortable and the lake front is, well....amazing.

We had a great time in this lake house. The rooms were nice, the kitchen was well-equipped, and we really enjoyed how cozy the living room was. The TV was set up with a good variety of options and we were thrilled that we were able to watch the UT vs. OU game right there. The kayaks were easy to access, and the dock space was outstanding. The owners are next door and are really nice & helpful in case you have any questions. My only suggestion for the owners would be to light up the guest house entrance a bit as it is too dark if you arrive after sunset and perhaps clean it up a little to make it look as nice as the house. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone hoping to have a nice time in a calm area.

You can’t beat the location of this guesthouse. Close to the boat ramp, extra parking for friends. Some of the smoother water on Lake Austin nearby, when the wake boats are not out in mass. Lovely area all around.

Chuck and Shelly have a beautiful place and could have been nicer! Kids loved the diving board and playing volleyball. I highly recommend this VRBO.

The owners were so kind and laid back. My family of 6 really enjoyed the time away and we saved money bringing the dogs as well. Without a doubt I'd go back again!!

Loved location No lights on dock or area so at night, no going down at sit by the water and we didn’t use fire pit. One is was super hot, two residents live on property and it is so close to them, felt like if we did anything it would be disturbing them. Made it a little awkward…but otherwise it was enjoyable

Shelly was fantastic! The property equally fantastic! We will be back. Can’t believe this is only 20 minutes away from home. Seems like a world away. Perfect lake house cabin experience!

We couldn’t ask for a more delightful place to spend UT graduation weekend!! The hosts made sure we had everything we needed to make the stay perfect. The family really enjoyed tubing, SUP and just relaxing on the dock. Highly recommend!!!

Great location with lots to do including a sand volleyball court, hot tub, kayaks and paddle board.

It was an excellent home, bigger and better stocked than we had even hoped for. The owners were very communicative and the one thing we needed (a cutting board) the got to us right away! The lake, kayaks, lilipad, diving board, dock, and hot tub kept us entertained all week!

Got together for first time in 4 years w 2 friends I grew up with. Perfect venue. We had crawfish boil and paddled on the lake and just relaxed. Shelly and Chuck (owners) were fantastic hosts - I’ll be back!

This little guest house is the perfect spot for a weekend on the lake. The house comes equipped with lots of water toys to help you enjoy your time as well. The house itself comes with everything you could need to make your weekend complete. It's on the older and eclectic side, but very cozy. There is even a kid loft filled with books and Legos for littles to enjoy once the your day is complete. I will mention that the ladder going to the loft is super steep and sketchy, so it made me nervous anytime we used it (or saw our 3 year old trying to climb it). One thing to note, the guest house is located on the owner's residence. We read previous reviews about seeing the owners walking around or going into their office (located below the guest house), so we were aware that this might happen to us during our stay. What we were not prepared for was to share the space with their teenage son and 6 of his friends. While they did try to maintain space, they were an active presence and anytime we were not using a kayak, paddle board (or even the dock), the group of boys would take over.

Really had a wonderful time and felt right at home at this great place on the water. Away from crowds but so close to everything you could want. Great communication and very kind owner made our stay memorable.

We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching boats drive by. Relaxing, clean, getaway!

Loved this cute "treehouse" guest house. It was a volleyball court away from the quiet area of Lake Austin - especially beautiful in the early morning and evening. My 11 year old son especially loved the loft bedroom. A fun, fun time!!

Great location very helpful owners! Some of what you see online isn’t exactly it though. The gas grill and the fire pit are away from the house not near your house. They are down the hill closer to the water which is awesome. The dock is great! And the owners are very helpful. I would stay here again just not clear on everything and there’s lotta cobwebs in the house.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this incredible home! We came to Austin for our spring break vacation, and Shelley went above and beyond to ensure our time there was incredible! The home is very charming and the views are beautiful! There was plenty of room for my family to feel at home and comfortable during our stay. My teenage children enjoyed the trampolines and volleyball court immensely! We all found the lake to be so peaceful and relaxing. Shelley’s recommendations for food were spot on and we appreciated the tips having never been to Austin before. She was also more than happy to help in any way during our stay. It was just like having a helpful next door neighbor! We felt right at home and would love to come back again and again! Thank you for the wonderful memories and your help in making our trip so amazing!

Overall we had a great time staying here. Nice location and beautiful view of the lake. We were able to drive into Austin easily for restaurants and activities. The house was well stocked with everything we needed, and the owner was very attentive. The only critique is that the house felt a bit musty and we noticed dust and spider webs. We definitely felt our allergies spike that first night, but the owner assured us it was due to the high levels of cedar in the area. The little florida room with screened windows is super cute, but it felt extra musty and those daybeds/pillows felt dusty. The owner brought us allergy meds, which was very sweet and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a family getaway.

We loved our stay in this lovely peaceful home! We loved the access to the lake, the hot tub, trampoline, kayaks, etc. The owner was fantastic and very welcoming and responsive! This beautifully decorated comfortable 2nd story home is built in the trees. Huge windows let us view birds and squirrels and the nearby river, which is just steps away. It’s easy to understand why the owners have lived here 34 years! What an ideal getaway - quiet and plenty of room. We loved our Thanksgiving here!

We left the kids at home and had a nice relaxing weekend. Everything was great, and we’ll be back with the kids next time

We stayed here 2 days & had a wonderful time. Shelly was very accommodating & responsive to any questions and concerns we had. There was plenty for our family to do on the river with the provided equipment. The stairs to the loft area inside the lodge are very steep but our 8 year old loved it since it gave him treehouse vibes. Our 45lb labradoodle had a blast enjoying himself on the dock and even made a friend. Our infant son tagged along on our trip when our plans changed last minute but we found the lodge very accommodating to small children, with the exception of the stairs which a gate or one of the table benches would quickly remedy. Anyone looking for a family friendly getaway will be extremely happy with this location.

Location is beautiful, home is beautiful. The lake access was incredible. The owners were nice, but were a little more around that we had hoped. There is an office under the guest house, and to our surprise the husband was in there quite a bit. We were hoping for a bit more privacy. All that to say, the home and location was great.

Just wanted to take a moment and state that this property is amazing! It’s not very far from downtown. It’s right on the lake and you can kayak or paddle-board. Shelley and Chuck were amazing host. We will for sure be back!!

The property is even more beautiful in person than in photos. Gorgeous views - you feel like you are in a tree house. Lake access is wonderful. My kids LOVED the Lilly Pad and we did a wonderful boat/tubing trip right from the dock! Such a wonderful bonus! We had a great time - thanks so much!

Property is as described and the location is awesome. We had captain Jimmy pick us up right on the dock and teach the kids to wakeboard/ski. Lots of space to play/swim and hosts are great and quick to respond. Would definitely come back!
