'Apartment Royal' Historic Dunmore Town, Harbour Island

Une grande cuisine, d'articles de toilette de luxe bien équipées et une literie moelleuse complètent l'expérience de station-like. Grand LED TV à écran plat, lecteur DVD, Internet haut débit (WiFi), Vonage, dock iPod stéréo, laveuse à chargement frontal et sécheuse, out-door chaud / froid la pluie douche, terrasse de jardin partagé, barbecue à gaz, générateur de secours, Port, Port de côté. Il ya deux chambres doubles et une chambre avec lits jumeaux. Désormais entièrement climatisé. Les ventilateurs de plafond. 6 personnes confortablement. Ménage trois jours par semaine. Pas de taxe sur les chambres gouvernement.

We stayed here for spring break with our two teenage kids. The property was clean, cozy, well appointed and in a great location. Charles was so helpful and accommodating as our host. Our flights both in and out of town were cancelled and he was so helpful - even offering to pick up snacks or doing anything he could to accommodate us. We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at this great apartment! It was our first visit to Harbour Island, and we enjoyed the in town location which made it so easy to get to grocery stores, several restaurants, and delicious bakeries within walking distance. There is plenty of space and a great little porch with a view of surrounding houses, palm trees, flowers and even a bit of the bay. We spent many evenings out there - great sunset views! The apartment is very well equipped with everything you need to enjoy the beach - towels, chairs, boogie boards, beach toys, even a cooler. The apartment gives old school Caribbean vibes - tile floors, modest (but spacious) kitchen, a bit shabby but extremely chic! It’s very comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Charles was easily accessible and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again! One thing to know if traveling with kids: there are two neighboring houses with pools that you can see from the apartment. We had told our kids “oh no we’re staying in town, not at a hotel, so there won’t be a pool,”… well I hadn’t done my research, some houses do have pools in town! So it was at times hard for them to see and hear other kids splashing and laughing in their own little backyard pools without having access to one. Fortunately our kids love the beach and we spent most of our time there!

Charles’ apartment was perfect for us. The location was very walkable to grocery and liquor store and a couple of other shops and ferry dock. Needed a golf cart to get to beaches. It was comfortable and offered everything we needed.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Apartment Royal. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It was everything we needed. Location was great too and it was nice having Charles nearby if we needed anything or had questions.

This was our first visit to harbor island and we all agreed it will not be our last. I was with my husband and 20 year old daughter, and the apartment was perfect for us. Very spacious, and beautifully decorated. It was fun looking at the vintage photos and collections of shell renderings. Charles lives next door, so he was easily accessible for the visit and even ran out to give us an umbrella one night as it had started to rain when we headed out to dinner. We ate out for meals because there were so many great restaurants we wanted to try to explore the island, but the kitchen is well stocked to cook in.
The bedrooms had very nice linens and plenty of towels in the bathrooms. There were also extra travel sized bath products, so we didn’t run out of anything.
One thing to note is there is a fair amount of street noise in the front bedroom (which would apply to all houses in town, and probably even other areas near the street because the golf carts are noisy) so I’d put the deepest sleeper on the street side. The rest of the rooms are quiet.
One of my favorite features of the place was the patio facing west to see the sunset.
My only regret was that we didn’t make it into the art gallery downstairs. Judging from what was on the walls upstairs, it would have been good to see!
The location was great. Three blocks from the government pier where the water taxi drops off, and room for a golf cart to park, which we rented for the week. It was centrally located close to The Landing and DaVine Sushi, and a quick ride to several of the public access points to Pink Sand beach where you can rent chairs for the day.
Excellent vacation, great in town apartment. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to Harbour Island for ~30 years. We have stayed in a number of houses, and now that our family has grown and expanded, we can't all fit into one house. At first, I was a little hesitant to stay in an apartment, but we were more than pleasantly surprised. It's spacious, has a great outdoor space, and the airconditioning is probably better than any house we've stayed in on the island. It was incredibly comfortable for my wife and our daughters. We would definitely stay here again. Location is perfect, very clean, well-appointed, great outdoor space, great views, Charles is fantastic. I highly recommend the Apartment Royal.

We loved our stay at the Apartment Royal. The location was perfect- very central to all of the stores and restaurants, and just a short golf cart ride to the beaches. We enjoyed getting pastries at the local coffee shop and sitting out on the patio enjoying them. The house is very well appointed- there was everything you would need to make a meal, nice comfy robes, and towels and chairs for the beach. Charles was very accommodating and promptly answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to travel to Harbour Island- you won’t be disappointed!

Probably one of the cleanest and well maintained properties we have stayed in. Impeccably well kept in a fun in town location. Second time on the island and we chose to stay in town to be close to great restaurants and shops. 5 minute golf cart ride to the beach. We'll be back. Thanks!

We stayed for a week in March, and it could not have been more perfect. The apartment is just above Charles' art gallery (where you will be tempted to 'invest' in local art and crafts) and is itself full or art and historical photography, which we loved to look at in the evenings. As others have pointed out, the apartment is much more spacious than what the photos suggest. There is also a second balcony, which is great for people watching. Charles, Lona and Dirk were lovely to have a chat with, and we can only recommend the property. Hope to be back in 2024.

My family had a wonderful stay at Apartment Royal. Just above a lovely art gallery, owned by the host, you have three spacious bedrooms, a very well stocked kitchen, and comfortable living and dining area with great views of palm trees and ocean. Perhaps not surprising since Charles owns an art gallery, but the art on the walls - especially the historical photographs - are a wonderful touch that we never grew tired of studying. The women who clean the apartment three times per week were very friendly - as we found most everyone on the island - and did a great job keeping the place clean, fresh and from becoming "too beachy" after a week enjoying the pink sand. Charles added so many thoughtful touches that made us feel very welcome and set the tone for our time - water, sunscreen and a welcome bottle of wine. They were generous with supplying shampoo, conditioner, soaps, paper towels, etc. - little things that make a big difference when you've traveled so far and have limits on all you can/want to bring. There is a great deli on the corner, a wonderful breakfast/bakery café just a block away and the Piggly Wiggly surpassed our expectations with their selections which went beyond the basics we expected. We have nothing but good things and feelings about the island and Apartment Royal - we hope to be able to stay there again some day.

We couldn’t have been more thrilled with our stay at Dunmore Town. A nice, clean, spacious 3 bedroom apartment with an unexpected spectacular view. Great little balcony and Garden Courtyard. Charles the owner could not have been kinder or more accommodating. We absolutely loved this little hidden gem and will most definitely be back!

I rented this property for a week around the July 4th holiday. There were six of us including my 2 year old Grandson. The property was comfortable and clean, offered easy access to stores and maybe a 5 minute golf cart ride to the beach by the Coral Sands Hotel. Charles makes umbrellas and chairs available as well as beach towels for the many trips we took to the beach. Charles takes good care of the place and was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect location if you cannot find a direct water front rental. Charles keeps a tidy, pleasant place. Close to Arthur’s and the Piggly-Wiggly. We have stayed twice at this location and would be happy to return again. What a wonderful island.

Charles' Apartment Royal is in the perfect location to access everything Harbour Island has to offer. We could walk to many restaurants, shops, and the beach--or better yet a quick golf cart ride anywhere! We were a family of 6 adults and were very comfortable in his lovely apartment. We spent a lot of our time on the patio reading and relaxing. Whenever we had a question or needed help with something, Charles was always more than willing to help. He was incredibly friendly and made our stay perfect. Don't hesitate to book Apartment Royal for your next stay!

What a wonderful place. We went to Harbour Island for our nieces wedding and were looking for an alternative to the resort to stay at. We found Apartment Royal and talk about hitting a Home Run!The pictures on line did not do the apartment justice. They are all accurate, but the size of the apartment itself and the room layout was much more spacious than we had imagined. It allowed for all of us to be together or enjoy some private time if necessary. The views from the balcony deck were simply MARVELOUS!!!Charles was kind enough to offer and get us some initial provisions as well as provide us with a lovely welcoming note, bottle of champagne, and bottled water in the bedrooms. All little touches that confirmed that we had made the right choice on where to stay. And talk about convenient!. The dock was a 10 minute walk from the apartment and the food store and liquor store are right around the corner. We hosted a small family dinner one night cooking burgers & dogs on the grill and had plenty of space for everyone. I can't say enough good things about the experience we had at Apartment Royal or what a wonderful host Charles was. We are not sure how soon we will be able to make it back to Harbour Island, but we do know where we will stay!!!
