Beautiful home with plenty of room and all the amenities…we enjoyed the peaceful setting…saw deer every morning while having coffee on the deck. We will definitely be back. Our vrbo host was very kind and accommodating…we very much appreciated the opportunity to stay in her lovely home.

We thought the location and house were great except for the mold/mildew smell. A few of us felt like we were having allergy type reactions and chest congestion.
For example, in the second floor bath room, you could see that the wall next to the tub seemed like it had problems with water... like the sheetrock had been wet.
Also a minor issue was that the network password was not quite correct in the book provided... it had an upper case letter instead of lower case, which of course makes a difference with passwords. A few of us kept trying to get it so I called and Sharon gave us the right password.
She was very nice and always responsive.

The property was great. Very good location to ride bikes to Charlevoix. Very roomy. Password given for Wifi not working- disappointing and TV instructions could have been better in the fact that it was difficult to get the TV to turn on and no clear instructions as to what channels were available. Although we did have fun and enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely adored Sharon’s place. It’s the perfect location. 25 minute walk to town which we did everyday with our 3 kids ages 8, 10 and 12
10 minute walk to the beach.
Deer sightings every day. It was truly a dream. Plenty of space in her house for us all to spread out. Sharon’s communication was top notch, she’s an absolute sweetheart. We so hope to be back again!

Staying here in Sharon's home was a fantastic experience. She is the nicest host you could ever ask for. And the home is beautiful. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there. And the deer are an amazing part on their own. They were out back in am and pm. And we saw deer all thru the neighborhood. Beat host and best house we have ever had.

This was one of the most exceptional homes we have stayed in over the past 8 years of renting through vacation home platforms. The beds were comfortable, it had everything we needed to cook. Laundry for the kiddos’ clothes was helpful mid-stay. We’d love to return in years to come!

The property had everything we needed. From kitchen to bathrooms to bedrooms, the house is very well stocked. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. Everything was perfect for our trip.

Location was great, it was secluded but at the same time was not far from grocery stores or restaurants. We had bikes and easily could bike to the beach or downtown. Roads near house are mostly 25MPH and a bike trail is nearby.
Plenty of space for our extended family (8 adults and 3 kids). I will warn the stairs to get into the basement are spiraled which could be an issue for some.
Really enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning drinking coffee and watching/listening to the wildlife. Would absolutely consider returing again.

Our stay was great! The owner was extremely happy peasant and accommodating.

Sharon was a wonderful host! The house had everything we could want and she thought of everything - high quality and plentiful towels, beach towels, beach chairs, every kitchen appliance you could need, and bikes that were in great shape. We will definitely stay again!

We had a great stay at our place. Sharon was a great host and communicated with us in a timely manner. We were even able to check in early. The house is great in a awesome neighborhood close to all the beaches, shops and restraunts. Plenty of space for a family and endless amenities. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it!

This spot is far enough outside of town to feel like you’re in the woods, but still very walkable to beaches and downtown. Host was very helpful and quickly responded to any questions we had. Absolutely will be staying here again if we can!

This property is perfect. We have a grown family now 8 adults (and one infant grandchild) and I try to get places that can accommodate with a beach, and fun shopping experiences and distractions, for iffy weather and the like, and great food. This place has it all, and then some. It is very roomy and comfortably slept is all and had space to spread out. Everything is within walking distance. It has great areas to bike ride. You can take a ferry to explore. There are great places to eat, and a grocery store close, for if you want to stay in. The beaches are really convenient for if you have kids. The yard is large to play in. It opens to a natural area for privacy. The house is equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable. The host even went and got a high chair for us (only because I simply asked if she had one!) which she didn’t have to do. She was very responsive and reachable for questions. I highly recommend this place if you feel like a great stay in a great town. Really can’t say enough. Thank you Sharon.

The house was spacious for the 5 of us, clean and about 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride to the beach. The beach access is a bit of a steep sand dune to get down to but the beach is beautiful. It’s about a 20 minute walk to town but a short drive. The house provided 2 adult bikes and 1 child bike which were helpful to just explore the area which is lovely. The jet shower and tub were a nice treat. Be careful not to leave on the heat switch in the upstairs bathroom which blows hot air as it may set off the smoke alarm. The switch should be labeled but after speaking to the seller, we figured it out. The seller really provided anything you could need while you are there and is very communicative. It took awhile to figure out which light switches when to which lights. The house is quite dim inside so we found ourselves turning on every light we could fine. Two center ceiling lights were not working and would have been helpful. There were extra lightbulbs but could not be reached without a very tall ladder. This was communicated to the seller. Also, there is one full length mirror downstairs but no mirrors in the bedrooms. Adding mirrors would be helpful. We enjoyed the two new fawn that were recently born visiting the backyard and surrounding area. The backyard is just beautiful and you will enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine out there. Charlevoix is a wonderful place to visit. A drive to Mackinaw City and ferry to Macinaw Island are a must. The nearby town of Petofsky is also beautiful with plenty of restaurants & shops.

I was in in town for my daughters wedding and it was perfect. Sharon was very accommodating to us and a wonderful host. The home was very nice and close to the water and a short drive to downtown. I would stay again.

This house is very comfortable and in an excellent location. Our group of 6 adults found it very cozy, yet we all had our own private space when needed. The location is easy walking distance to downtown Charlevoix (1 mile) and a beautiful Lake MI beach (5 minutes), and a reasonable drive to hiking, biking, boating, and sightseeing adventures outside Charlevoix. The house was very well provisioned for cooking and eating in. We enjoyed watching the deer from the backyard deck. We would definitely recommend and stay at Sharon's place again!

Our family had a wonderful week in Charlevoix! This home is beautiful
and our first experience staying in a Cedar Shake home. It’s located in a very quiet neighborhood which is a 6 minute drive from downtown Charlevoix. The layout was great for our family with one bedroom downstairs and 3 upstairs. Our little ones enjoyed the games provided (chess, checkers, cards) and the park through the wooded area behind the house. We often spent our mornings and evenings sitting on the lovely back patio and saw numerous deer nearby. The local beaches were nice and a very short drive away, 2-6 minutes. Sharon is very sweet, so easy to communicate with, and responds so quickly! A few things that would make our stay even better: a fully enclosed master bedroom (there is a large triangular opening above the closet), minor maintenance (master closet and pantry squeak), and a new hammock. Thanks for a great stay, Sharon!

This was a gorgeous house. Beautiful inside and out. So much shade. A very quiet neighborhood. Sharon, the host, was wonderful to us all. She was attentive and very warming. Her house is fully stocked to make it a great experience. We enjoyed every moment spent in this house for the week. It was almost impossible to leave this property!

Spent a week in this terrific house earlier this month. The house was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. Sharon was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again.

The property provided us with a unique space and is well equipped and located within easy reach of the various activities in Charlevoix. .
The modern kitchen is well stocked for cooking there are and two excellent grills outside. There is ample furniture in and out and three bicycles, which were pressed into service.
The location is very quiet and is home to some families of deer which appear regularly. It was a pleasure to ben in the space and highly recommend this property.

Sharon was more than accommodating. Very good with communication and the house was so well equipped, we couldn't believe it. Loved the wooded lot along with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the house. Everyone was very comfortable. If we were to go o Charlevoix again, we'd definitely want to stay there. Highly recommend.

The house has a ton of space and just about everything you may need. The house has beach towels (nice, thick ones too), every kitchen item you could want, tons of blankets, just about everything.
The beds are comfortable. The shower was perhaps the best feature in the house.
The house is clean, as in vacuumed and everything was wiped clean (such as counters and the shower, etc.); however, it is dusty. There was quite a bit of dust built up on light fixtures, the TV, lamps, etc. The carpet could be replaced, which could help with the musty factor. It is probably a challenge to keep a house in the woods of this size from being musty. I have allergies to the musty-ness and dust, which may not be noticeable to others. Perhaps a good deep-clean is all that is needed.
The school playground is super close, just through the woods. We walked to a Lake MI beach (about 2-3 blocks or so). Walking into town could be done, but not with children (it would be about a mile). If you have bikes (and the owner generously offers two adult bikes for use) then it would be very manageable and fun.
The owner was kind and had the place ready for check-in.

My family spent a week in Charlevoix in this great house! Sharon was so responsive the and check- in and check-out process was easy. The back yard is gorgeous with lots of trees and a family of deer visited often! There was plenty of room for my extended family of 12. The access to the Lake Michigan beach was a short walk and the town was also just a short walking distance so we didn’t have to worry about looking for parking very often. Loved this place and would definitely go back!!

My family and the kids friends fell in love with this house as soon as we walked in the door. Plenty of room for the 9 of us with a beautiful view out the back door. The unique A-Frame architecture made for an enjoyable, relaxing atmosphere.

I definitely recommend this property! Sharon is a very gracious host. She checked in with me right after we arrived to be sure we had everything we needed. 8 of our family members stayed here and everyone had plenty of room. The kitchen is updated with anything you need to cook. The deck and wooded backyard are very nice. In addition, she had comfortable patio chairs with cushions and 2 new grills. The stairs to the second floor and basement curve and don’t have hand rails. Keep this in mind if you have seniors or small children.

Our family group of 7 which included 4 adults and 3 children found this property perfectly met our needs as we enjoyed and explored northern Michigan. Day trips to Mackinaw bridge, Island, Tahquamenon falls, Petoskey, and of course Charlevoix. Walking distance to beautiful Charlevoix, it’s harbor area, boutiques and wonderful restaurants. Walking distance to Lake Michigan public beach access. Enjoyed the property’s deck, new gas grill, two adult bikes, board games, badminton set and even portable beach chairs. The home is backed by wooded property that provided many opportunities to explore the woods and watch a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers that frequent the area. The woods is also a short cut to a school with two great playgrounds for the children. The house has everything you need for cooking. Communication with the landlord was excellent. I would highly recommend this property.

What a wonderful place to stay! The house was incredibly clean, fully stocked with the essentials, and had plenty of space for our entire family! The owner was so friendly and easy to work with. The location was ideal! Just a few blocks from downtown made it easy to go into town for a bite to eat and shopping. This is a must stay site! We will definitely be back!

We’ve rented homes from Home Away all over the states and Europe and this was the first time we had such a gracious and attentive host. Sharon’s correspondence welcomed us like family. Her home was wonderful. We found the kitchen great for cooking and the dining room and deck perfect for entertaining. The house provided great privacy for all the family with a large living room for gathering. The beach was a half mile walk and Charlevoix a mile. The street into town had beautiful old homes and were shaded with little traffic. Charlevoix is charming with wonderful breakfast and bakery items to be had. My husband is an avid bicyclist and found wonderful new routes to ride every day. The young people were at the beach almost daily. Charlevoix is only about an hour from Mackinac Island, so we took our 4th trip up for a great day riding, shopping, and eating. Evenings back at the house gave quiet time watching the dusk descend with frequent visits in the yard from a doe and two fawns. What an enchanting place!

Renting the home was extremely easy(my 1st VRBO) and owner is very accessable and answers questions quickly. This is an extremely well decorated and clean home. Walking distance from downtown and lake Michigan. Well worth the money for a great vacation!

Sharon was a wonderful host with a fantastic rental property! The house exceeded expectations for my family - the kitchen had everything you could need, we cooked almost every meal at home with ease. Beds were comfortable and the house was VERY clean. Made relaxing easy. Sharon was very easy to communicate with and I appreciated her checking in to ensure we had an easy move in/move out process and had everything we needed. Walkable distance or quick drive to downtown. I would recommend to anyone visiting the Charlevoit area.

Location. Check. Space. Check. Amenities. Check. Just lovely. Everything you need for a great holiday with friends and family!! Loved that we could bike or walk to town/beach. Lots of towels, cookware, plates. Everything! Thank you Sharon!

This comfortable and convenient home was a hit with me and my five friends. It was close to town and an easy walk to some Lake Michigan beaches. All of us thought the beds were incredibly comfortable. That is really saying something as some of my friends are incredibly picky. The amenities were top notch and the owner was a pleasant and helpful lady.
Highly recommend this one!!!

My extended family enjoyed a lovely vacation at Sharon's house in Charlevoix over the Labor Day weekend. The house easily accommodated our party of 11, which included several small children. The staircases are precarious for younger ones, but Sharon thoughtfully provides gates (as well as toys and a high chair). Prior to booking, Sharon made sure we were aware of the staircases. Sharon is an attentive host and communicates well with her guests. It was not a problem for our group.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood near the beach, as well as a school with a playground. The backyard is very relaxing, with patio furniture and deck furniture. Charlevoix is a picturesque lakeside Michigan community with nice shops and restaurants.

Sharon was an incredible host, we felt so welcomed from the start, whatever you need she was the best! Loved the house set up, darling A frame shaker style that has charm and function, everyone slept well, easy access to beaches and town too! It’s an all season set up from a couples retreat, family reunion, girls weekend away.. you name it! This is your home away from home, Sharon will see to it❤️

The house worked very well for us as we had plenty of family visiting. It's easy access to all major bike trails was a big plus.
Nice locations for walking downtown Charlevoix . I wish it had better beach access.
Very nice backyard for sitting on the deck with plenty th of deer stopping by.
