We'd rate the location a 5* for convenience to the park and quiet, restful space when we got home. Although the space was well equipped with all the things needed (plenty of dishes, towels, etc), it all was very dated and a bit beat up. That being said, everything worked, Jill, the host, was very responsive, and we absolutely loved being located right on the river.

The location was great but you are staying beneath their house with a stairwell that connects inside, that you can’t lock. The day we were supposed to checkout the host came through the stairwell and woke up my friend telling her we needed to be out as soon as possible even though checkout time wasn’t for two hours. Our car wasn’t in the driveway so I wonder if he thought no one was going to be down there.

A fantastic experience all around! Wonderful views, friendly owners and the perfect place to rest after long days of adventure. We were extremely grateful for the bear spray as that stuff is quite spendy. Luckily, we didn't have to use it :) Thank you so much Randy and Jill!

It took me a while to rationally review this location since my dog died while I was there. His death had nothing to do with the property but it did skew my opinion of it for a while.
It is a lovely location with a river right next to it and nothing but woods around. I'd definitely advise staying there and swimming in the river during spring/summer. It' s very close to the glacier national park entrance.
Only downside is the cleanliness in the bathrooms. We had a little mildew around the shower and gunk around the toilet. Other than that it was an extremely pleasant stay. Just keep your pupper on leash while you're there so they don't get into anything.

We had a couple major concerns with out stay at this location. First of all, the unit was not clean: there was dog hair all over the bed and pillows! Walking around in white socks, the bottom of my socks got very dirty.
Also, I went out to get breakfast one day, and the owner thought my wife went along as well, but did not. The owner came down an inside stairway that led to living area and was startled to see my wife sitting there. Why was she coming into the unit we rented while she thought we were out for the day? This was very concerning to my wife.
There were several places we stayed during this trip that we would go back to stay again, but not this one.

This location by the river is wonderful, just like the pictures. The unit is rustic and cozy. The heat works really well. Nice linens and ample towels. Bring your favorite spices if you plan on cooking. Salt and pepper was provided. Jill is very accommodating and helpful. Very close to the West entrance of GNP. On my visit there was one drip and one pod coffee maker.

The pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s an absolutely beautiful property and was the perfect location for our much needed vacation. We spent a full week and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Jill and Randy were very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed being close to GNP while also having options for dining in Hungry Horse and a short distance from Columbia Falls but also the feeling of being out in nature in quiet atmosphere. Would highly recommend this listing for a couple looking for outdoor adventures and R&R.

This is the second summer we have come and enjoyed this beautiful property. We stay for a month. Can't say enough good things about Randy and Jill, the owners. They treat us like family. We have 2 golden retrievers that are woth us amd they LOVE swimming in the river. We fish for trout there as well. Conveniently located to everything (Glacier, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, golf, etc). Love it. Coming back again next year.

Hungry Horse was outstanding. The accommodation were clean, comfortable and private. On-site parking was an added bonus. The patio sits overlooking the Flathead River with water access. The location is convenient to the West Glacier entrance. Restaurants were nearby and were very good. The hosts thought of everything including sandwich bags to hold our sandwiches for our hikes in Glacier. They gave us great advice and suggestions.

Jill and Randy's property is on the Flathead River. It is a super clear, slow moving river and it made for the perfect location to relax after hiking in Glacier National Park. Our dog stayed with us at the property and he enjoyed having access to lower seating area next to the river. Jill and Randy are great hosts.

The setting is beautiful and very peaceful. The owner was extremely friendly and informative about the park. We definitely would stay there again.

The evening I drove into Glacier National Park (Hungry Horse), I had just parked in front of the property and was walking up to the door to enter when I got a vrbo message from the host canceling on me at the last moment. I had my dog with me and no where to go that night. I received instructions on address, how to enter the property, check in/check out procedures only to be left out in the cold at the last minute. VRBO offered to put me up in a hotel for one night, but I had a $100 dollars worth of groceries for the week that would have gone to waste as no hotel in the area would take a dog nor had a refrigerator. To say that I was upset would be a huge understatement. I had to drive another full hour and 1/2 just to find someone who would take us. This host was completely irresponsible despite prior ratings.

My husband and I came for a month to get a reprieve from the Arizona summer heat, and this place was absolutely amazing and fit the bill. Location is central to all of Glacier National Park, Columbia Falls, Whitehead (town and lake), Kalispell, Big Fork and Flathead lake. We hiked, fished, golfed and just relaxed with ease. Can't beat walking down the steps to the river and relaxing, fishing and our dogs loved the swim. Even during the heat this summer (highest when we were there was mid 90's) the rental stayed extremely cool and comfortable as it is partially in ground. Even snuggled under some blankets. Loved having the windows open for the cool breezes. Jill and Randy were GREAT hosts. Always checking in us, offering great information for adventure while we were there and treating us like family. The whole experience was above our expectations and definitely will be heading back next year.

Enjoyed our stay
The rental is below the main house and has its own access door and gorgeous view of the river. The apartment has everything we needed and is conveniently located close to the Western entrance of the park. The owner communicated quickly and we would stay here again. The listing totally undersells the view of the river, incredible!

Wonderful property.
After spending time at Glacier National Park enjoyed sitting on the park bench, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the river flow by. Unit was well equipped.

Just what we needed!
Our stay at Hungry Horse was just what we needed! It was located quite close to the Glacier West entrance and even closer to the Hungry Horse Dam.
All necessary provisions were present- coffee, sugar, tissues, towels and a very comfortable bed and great smooth sheets. There were maps and books available for use along with suggestions for restaurants and grocery stores.
The location on the river was a bonus!
We had a nice visit from Jill and her mom and got a history of the house and the area.
Would recommend to everyone!

Hungry horse cabin
Jill was great with recommendations of places to eat, and shops. She also helped us with understanding the routes to take in glacier national park (trails). Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

Place was clean and quiet, but best part is the back yard looking over river and forest and with plenty of places to relax and take in nature. Awesome stay.

Excellent place to stay
Very peaceful. River view is so beautiful and relaxing. Jill was very friendly and helpful with a referral for a fishing guide and we had an absolutely beautiful day on the lake. Would stay there again!!

Great location
We enjoyed our stay here and Jill was very nice and helpful. The yard is beautiful and loved sitting in the glider looking at the river. I will say, however, that I wasn't aware that this was an "apartment" - the lower level of the house (the owners live right above - don't misunderstand - owners are very nice). I looked at the listing again today and still couldn't see where that was mentioned. The listing says "beautiful house" ..... If having a dishwasher is important to you, there isn't one - which didn't matter to us.

Great location for “doing” Glacier
This is a great location for coming and going to beautiful Glacier. Nice and close. Only problem was lack of places to eat so plan ahead and bring fixings as all equipment is provided for cooking . Beautiful location on the river. Very quiet and serene.

Restful Riverside Stay
Wonderful stay at this Hungry Horse property. It was a great point for us to access GNP as well as nearby towns (Whitefish, Big Fork, etc). Jill was wonderful in offering hike and restaurant recommendations. Our favorite part was hanging out in the back yard overlooking the river just feet away. Anytime we’re back in Hungry Horse, we will be hoping to stay here!

Beautiful Setting
This condo had the best setting overlooking the Flathead River. We spent so much time outside as their yard is perfect and there is a great grill for bbqs. We hope to come back!

The property was on the middle fork of the flathead river. We could sit outside in the well maintained yard or porch and enjoy the peaceful environment and the river. The place was clean and well furnished. The river was also visible from the living/kitchen area. It was convenient to the Glacier National Park West entrance as well as restaurants, stores in Hungry Horse and the town of Columbia Falls. Randy and Jill were very friendly and made themselves available for questions and conversation while also allowing us space to enjoy the place they created.
