Great location and exactly as described! We loved being able to walk across the street to Kailua beach park! The owners are great and communication was easy. They even have beach chairs coolers and other gear for borrowing. We would stay here again!!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Sunshine Suite in Kailua! The unit was perfectly located, just steps away from the beach, which made it incredibly convenient to enjoy the beautiful shoreline every day. The suite itself was fantastic—clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.
The kitchen area was especially handy, featuring a big mini fridge, microwave, and all the dishes and accompaniments we could have asked for. The small extras provided here and there made everything so convenient and added to the overall comfort of our stay.
Steve was a wonderful host, offering great tips each morning as we headed out for the day. His recommendations really helped us make the most of our time in Kailua.
Parking was a breeze, as there was always space available for our rented car, which made exploring the area so much easier. After a long, hot day of adventures, the onsite pool was the perfect spot to cool down and unwind.
We highly recommend the Sunshine Suite for anyone looking to stay in Kailua. We were thrilled with our 10-night stay and would love to return in the future!

Perfect location, took approx 2 minutes to walk to Kailua beach, also walking distance to Lanikai beach. Beautiful pool, didn’t use though because the beach was so convenient! Nice washer and dryer for guests to use, kind host, parking was a bit rough with a bigger truck but would’ve been fine with a smaller car. Would stay here over and over again, Mahalo!

- Good proximity to activities we wanted to do
Criticisms:
- Buzz’s restaurant was OK, but nice ambience.
- we looked forward to riding the bikes around but there was only one working
- As other reviews stated, there is no standard kitchen in this unit which turned out to be ok for me, but someone else might care more about that.

We lived in Hawaii for 13 years and have returned more times than we can keep track of since we had to leave almost 20 years ago... this was the best visit back we've had. Location was PERFECT - across the street from beach. The place was a tropical oasis, beautiful pool, the room with rich and beautiful appointments (paintings, statues). Everything was highest quality and everything was thought out. Staying with Steve and Suzie was like staying with family for the week we were there. (I almost don't want to say too much for fear that we won't be able to book the site again when we want to return because it will be too busy!) Highest recommendations from two folks for whom Hawaii will always be home!

Accommodations were cute and comfortable. The location was SPECTACULAR (1 min walk across the street to the beach). Beautiful sunrise and beach. The street sign locating the property was difficult to see in the evening, I would recommend adding another with an arrow. I think the neighbors up front may appreciate as well.

My wife and I used to live on Oahu and had low expectations for cleanliness of the Vrbo and mostly cared about the location. Well we were SO pleasantly surprised by how incredibly clean the room was and it was very spacious. The bed was soft and comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets if needed. We sleot comfortably at night with the fans and AC unit, and the hosts left us plenty of towels for our week’s stay. There are also beach chairs that we used all week. We loved being so close to Kalapawai market and Kailua beach. Also— this is BIG for Hawaii, we did not see one cockroach ! 10/10 for cleanliness. We would love to stay here again!

I stayed for 5 nights while visiting my son. About 25 mins from Honolulu. Older, but clean studio with everything I needed. Frig, microwave and coffee maker. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels. Quiet and so close to the beach.

Our hosts were helpful, and very nice. The beautiful beach is right across the street from the home with a personal pool in the courtyard. The room was clean and nicely decorated.

Plus features: Quite, private, good location.
Negative features: Lots of plates and kitchenware but NO sink. Any home cooking has to be on the gas grill. Sleeps 2 on the bed, but any more is on an air mattress.

Cute unit literally across the street from one of the best beaches in all of Hawaii. (Bed is very soft, which is good for some & bad for others).
Unit is small but well equipped unless you intend to do major cooking. Has AC but in Nov., the lovely winds were more enjoyable way to cool off.
Pool is wonderful; clean, well lit and great size for times you want a dip or something different than ocean.
Plenty of grocery stores and restaurants within 5-10 min drive. Nice off street parking. Nice owners!

Zaq and Susie are really wonderful hosts. They are very friendly and showing us super hospitality.
Kailua beach park is just the other side of street and Lanikai Beach is walking distance.
Air conditioner is a bit lousy but works well.
There are a lot of kitchenware and cookers for Breakfast but no sink for cleaning dishes, you can clean it with kitchen paper first and washing in wash room.
Swimming pool and Jacuzzi were really nice and comfortable. We enjoyed.
Tools are more than enough. Bicycles, Boards, Chairs, Parasols, Goggles, Coolers and so on.
Parking is OK unless you rent a F150 or similar size vehicle.

We had a great time staying at this property! We enjoyed the hot tub every night, and the very short walk to the beach. Also, some of the best coffee in town is in walking distance as well at the market. Also, they were very nice for a quick bite as well. We loved every second of staying here, I would come again!!

We used to live on O’ahu and visit as often as we can, and Kailua is the place to be if you prefer a quiet, residential area with a gorgeous, calm and easily accessible beach, as opposed to the crowded, charmless accommodations in Waikiki.
This was exactly what we were looking for when staying in Kailua, and then some. The unit was spotless, with a very comfortable bed, lots of nice towels, and a mighty little air conditioner which we really appreciated on the hotter days. It did a great job cooling the place down quickly. Hosts were there in person to greet us, and check-in couldn’t have been any easier.
The building is set back just a bit from the main drag on a private lane, and felt very secure. We loved the fact that there was on-site parking (not always the case in this area), bikes and beach gear were provided, and the property is literally across the street from Kailua Beach Park, plus a short walk from restaurants, shops, and so on. There is a pool and hot tub, but we didn’t end up using them during our stay. The yard is nicely landscaped, and we enjoyed listening to birds each morning.
Hosts provided lots of suggestions for places to eat, and included some restaurant menus in the information binder. The unit is equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and blender - not a place to do serious cooking, but good for breakfast and heating leftovers, which was what we had in mind anyways.

Wonderful location for accessing all Oahu has to offer. Much quieter than the Waikiki Beach area. This place gave us the feel of living like a local. Within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants.
Our only suggestion is to do a refresh of the unit. The artificial plants were dusty, the ironing board was cracked and we never found the iron. The wicker furniture is cute but collecting dust. The corners of the bathroom looked dirty. This would not deter me from staying again though, just some observations.
The hosts were very friendly and responsive. Thank you for sharing your lovely spot with us!

I believe these 2 beaches are close to the most beautiful in the world. The location of the unit was less than 1 block away. Also walking distance from restaurants, shopping and trails. The space was very adequate for 2 adults. The furnishings have seen alot of use. The bed was very comfy.

Nice access through park for sunrise/sunset beach walks and just enjoying Kailua beach & surf….short walk to Buzz’s for nice dinner. Enjoyed hot tub a couple evenings under moon surrounded by beautiful vegetation. The week on this side of island with rental Jeep was most enjoyable….trips up coast to Kualoa Ranch and all the way to Pipeline on North Shore. Sunshine Suite was perfect.
