Extremely nice place loaded with amenities! Views are gorgeous and the golf course and lake are amazing. We travel with our dogs and loved having the off leash area so close, not to mention all the hiking areas too.
We loved our stay and will book again when we head back to Bellingham.

The rental property is located on the golf course with lake view and just a short walk to the lakes shore, swings, dog park and boat ramp. It dog heaven down there! Great roped area for swimming.
The property is the lower part of a very large house. Separate entrance from the upper rental.
Hot tub was great! Best for small family or small group that isn’t planning on cooking a lot, as the fridge, stove and cooktop are small.
Theater room is cool!
Guests can use the community pool but it does cost a small day fee. You must bring your own towel. The owner is very Friendly and communicative! We would love to return and stay longer.

Beautiful and relaxing. Two words that describe completely this delightful home. Morning coffee on the patio overlooking a gorgeous golf course and serene lake. We also enjoyed the wonderful movie theater where we gathered as a family to watch the latest features. We could not have imagined a more perfect getaway. A sincere thank you to the friendly hosts for their hospitality and opening up their beautiful home for us to enjoy.

This property is very comfortable. We had an issue which the owners fixed promptly. Overall, an excellent experience. The media room was a hit with us. We would consider staying here again.
minus 1 star for safety concerns. The walk around the house to the back of the house is a little steep. For someone over 60, this felt treacherous especially when carrying bags. A handrail would greatly improve this. There are also no rails for entering the showers and no anti slip mats in the showers.
The 8 AM gardening session was not appreciated.

Hot tub is not covered
Gym equipment doesn’t work only the elliptical
Only a hot plate so don’t plan on cooking big meals for family.
Dog barking upstairs and owner in and out blocking the driveway so you can’t load or unload your belongings.
A very steep driveway to walk down to get to their basement.
The owner claimed damage so beware and we did nit even use the treadmill other than turn it on because it wouldn’t work.
I am sad that there is no honesty in rentals anymore. Even after leaving the property cleaner than when we arrived.
I have used VRBO for years and this is the first time I have been disappointed in the ownership of this property.
I hope I am heard so that you can tread lightly or not at all with false claims and dishonesty.

This is everything you would want in a place to stay. Not only was it everything that was promised, but unexpected details were a great surprise. Like the retro sit and spin for the grand kids, along with numerous other great toys they could play with and help them feel at home. Can’t wait to return!!

The property was a great home base for our weekend away! Great value for the space. Our family really enjoyed the theater room. Everything was clean and things were easy to find. The host was responsive and easy to work with. Our kids really loved the home!

We rented this property as a homebase for a short reunion of college roommates. It was terrific, a great place to hang out together with all the amenities we needed. Nicole was very nice and quickly responded to questions.

The property was awesome - right on the golf course, close to downtown Bellingham. The only real problem was lack of communication of where the key was located, no book or instructions on the internet/Wi-Fi connection, how to work the lights in the house (very state-of-the-art system), & what we must do on departure?? Typical guidance that is usually available. Even though The owner lived in the upper level of the house, we did not make contact. I could not get into my VRBO app because I forgot my password & could not get good Wi-Fi reception on my phone. So we made do, had a great visit w/my granddaughter who goes to WWU, & would love to stay at house again w/more communication, which could be my fault as much as anyone else!

Sudden Valley summer - golf course
I think it is important for the renters to know is that the renting portion of the house is actually a basement. The site shows and picture of the whole house and refers to 5000 sf, but the owner stays on the first level and the bottom partly in the ground portion of the house is being rented. there is no AC and I felt the house is overpriced and left a day early. The location is really nice.

Loved it!
I booked a last-minute getaway here for my family of 5 over Labor Day weekend. We had a lovely time. The is plenty to do for all ages - so much that we didn’t get to it all. The lake access is very convenient for taking paddleboards out and we were pleasantly surprised to discover several outstanding restaurants in the area. The theater and hot tub provided excellent entertainment when the weather wasn’t great and we wanted to stay in. We hope to come back again very soon!

Awesome house once again
My husband and I stayed 2 years ago and once again for 2 weeks and it did not disappoint!!! Nicole the owner is fantastic and very helpful, the house has everything you may need and the location is absolutely beautiful!!! We will be back!!

Wonderful stay
Our family of 5 plus dog had a great experience at this beautiful home. The off leash dog park was fantastic! Everyday we would take a cooler, some chairs, a beach umbrella and set up shop right by the water and watch all the pups play. The kids loved it. The water was so nice and surprisingly warmer then we thought it would be. Nicole left the membership card for the recreation center in the drawer so we took full advantage of the pool also. Everyday we would enjoy the hot tub and watch the sun go down. At night the kids would hang out in the theater room while the adults enjoyed drinks on the patio next to the fire pit. There was enough room in the 2 small fridges and mini freezer for our family of 5 for 5 days. We just brought costco pre-made meals, stuff for sandwiches, burgers and dogs. I would suggest bringing some ice, a cooler is provided so we used that for our drinks. Nicole was a great host and was quick to respond with any questions or concerns. She left us easy directions on how to use everything and all the different places to go, eg: restaurants, hiking, golfing. All in all a great vacation!

Great get-away!
We stayed for about a week and had a blast playing golf, swimming, and watching the wildlife. The house was a perfect fit with the mini-kitchen and theater room.

STUNNING VIEWS and great location
The house was perfect for family of 5. The location is great by the lake with Mountain View, wilderness of nature. Lots of things to do and visit within 1.5 h drive the most.

Awesome house!
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of spending 1 month in this beautiful house. To wake up to such beautiful surroundings in your backyard was beyond amazing ! We had a wonderful time walking to the lake, kayaking and taking our dogs to the dog park there. The house was spotless and everything we needed was right there for us. There’s an awesome hot tub for use and a fire pit which made for some beautiful romantic evenings. Our hostess Nicole and her husband are wonderful people who made sure we were having a great time and had everything we needed. I highly recommend this house not only for its beautiful surroundings but perfect location to experience the best that Bellingham has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!

Relaxing retreat
I was late booking a retreat spot for my family. Lucking Taylor's Resort was available. Given the luxuries; hot tub, exercise room, theatre, I would have expected a full stove & fridge. We made due with hot plate, microwave, outdoor grills and coolers. Might clarify the kitchen area for future guests.
I enjoyed being so near the first holes of the golf course. The view is open and lovely. The Lake air is wonderful. Some took a dip in the lake at the park by the boating area. I had an ankle sprain prior to our visit so I preferred the hot tub.
I was challenged during unloading with coolers and food etc. The pathway was a bit steep for an ankle boot. I would suggest talking to the owners regarding better access through the garage for loading and unloading gear to and from the lower level.
Finally I found the location convenient to WWU for graduation. Lakeway drive and Whatcom Lake road are essentially the same road. What a lovely place to celebrate and relax.

Sweet property!!
Such a great rental! Nicole was great to work with and hands down super accommodating for our family. The space was incredibly clean and described perfectly. Our kids loved the movie room and hot tub. This space was a perfect and much more enjoyable then a hotel! Thank you for a great stay!

A Real Gem
We are a Grandma and Grandpa (70ish) with two grandkids (11 and 15) and a dog. I started looking for a place to get away on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend (three nights). I found this place and was able to rent it starting the following day. Thank you, Nicole.
As with any vacation rental, there were pros and cons. First the good. My son and his wife and baby daughter and dog joined us for our last night. This place accommodated all of us with no trouble. The patio overlooking the golf course was perfect. There is a large table with chairs, a couch and chairs around a lovely firepit, a grill, and a hot tub that was all fired up and ready for us. We ate all of our meals out there. The movie room was an incredible bonus. Even our one day of rain didn't keep us from walking to the marina and park.
The not-so-good: This is a daylight basement apartment. The walkway down (not stairs) is steep. My legs were sore the day after we returned home, but that's a good thing! If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. The kitchen is challenging. Because of the pictures and description from Nicole, and a review from one disgruntled renter, I came prepared for this. Countertop space and a small sink were my biggest issues. There is an extra room/office that I used as an extension of the kitchen. Since there was no space for stacking dirty dishes next to the sink, I bought some paper plates and cups. Between the grill and the hot plate, I was able to cook some fabulous meals.
We would love to come back again.

Great getaway.
We had a wonderful week in Sudden Valley. The home is spacious, well maintained, and very clean. The view from the patio is beautiful. The mature landscaping was stunning. We saw a lot of wildlife, and really enjoyed the nearby dog park. This is a very quiet and friendly neighborhood. The owner is excellent to work with.

Perfect, breathtaking retreat
We were lucky enough to spend an entire summer in this wonderful apartment. There was plenty of room, comfortable beds and the media room was an unexpected treat. Nikki and Jason were wonderful hosts and were always there to help.
I can't say enough about how beautiful this space is. The view was breathtaking. We enjoyed cooking and eating outside. We hope to come back!

My family LOVED this rental!
My husband and I decided to go on a short vacation with the kids. We fell in love with this beautiful home located in a little community called Sudden Valley.
The rental is extremity large with very high ceilings and lots of rooms,
the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the media room is out of this world, I've never seen anything like it in a rental home.
My husband enjoyed the fitness room with the mounted TV, this room was also clean and well maintained. Our family also enjoyed the 8 person hot tub every night before we went to bed.
We would love to come back in the summer time so our family can enjoy the perks of renting a home on the water and on the golf course, which you can see from every room inside the rental. The view from this vacation rental was breathtaking.

Came to Bellingham to visit relatives thru the holidays and we wanted our own space thru the week. Quaint basement suite. Very spacious. Perfect for small family. Two full baths, seprate bedrooms and pull out couch/TV in living area. Movie room was huge hit with the kids. Workout area and office space was a nice bonus on rainy days. No large oven but outside grill, hot plate, toaster oven and microwave provided all we needed for cooking or heating up basic meals. Nicole was very accommodating to all of our needs. Perfect space that was cheaper than getting hotels rooms and eating out every meal. Thank you Nicole!

The house needs to be remodeled to become a vacation rental.
The kitchen is not adequate. There is no dishwasher, no oven and only a small portable cooktop. There is a very small kitchen table that seats 4 but no dining room table. There is very limited kitchen counter space.
There is an empty office type room that serves no purpose. The lighting system is bizarre, way too complex to be easily used.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are OK. The TV room is a plus.
Significant remodeling is required to convert the downstairs portion of this shared house into a proper rental property. The owner is nice but the home needs work to be worth the price.

Beautiful, clean home with picturesque views
We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The home was extremely clean and had great little extras that made our trip easier (like laundry detergent and a washer and dryer!). It’s in an absolutely gorgeous location with stunning views. The sunrises and sunsets from the back porch were just gorgeous. Our kiddos loved the theater room!
