We loved the pool. House was clean and very comfortable. Beautiful views. Close to our favorite restaurants and shopping. Quiet neighborhood. We brought our waverunners and enjoyed exploring the area.

The place was large and clean. It was a little difficult to find and more set back from the water than i had realized but that was my mistake. And it’s notanythi that would keep you out of the water the pool was beautiful! There were a few minor concerns about the property like loose tiles around the pool but I’m sure those are on the to-do list for the property manager. We had a great time!

This home did not meet our expectations, it was not as advertised & we feel it is falsely labeled as “luxury”. We would not consider staying here again & here’s why: We saw cockroaches both downstairs and upstairs, broken pavers all over the pool area making it dangerous to walk on, stained/old furniture, the washing machine had a broken soap dispenser and there was previous water damage warping the floor boards in the bathroom. The privacy fence that separated the home and the trailer home next door was broken and this didn’t make for great views to the lake. We saw many lightbulbs were burnt out and there was old rusted furniture sitting around outside along with an old appliance of some kind sitting on the front porch in the corner. The trash can lid was broken and the metal covering of the microwave was bent and coming off. The old pool table had pockets that were broken & “fixed”with zip ties. The provided internet password would also not work for us. We feel that Some of the photos shown on VRBO (at the time we booked) were not an accurate representation of the home. The photos shown of the nice view to the lake is now obstructed by a privacy fence and a trailer home. Aside from the cockroach situation, the pool pavers were the thing we were most dissatisfied with. The owner stated in the reviews on VRBO that the pool pavers were fixed when we booked this property, but they were not fixed. The pavers were VERY loose and verging on dangerous to walk on. Some tiles were falling off the edges of the pool into the water. My son hurt his foot walking on the tiles because they shift when walking. The pool tiles need to be redone so they are safe for guests to walk on. After three nights, we started seeing cockroaches both downstairs and upstairs. We were concerned because we had our bags out we didn’t want to unknowingly bring a roach or it’s eggs home with us. Due to this and compounded by the other issues with the home, we decided that we were leaving early. We notified the owner about why we left two days early (due to what we felt were unsanitary/unsafe conditions). Overall we did not have a good experience and would not recommend this home due to the safety of the broken pool pavers and that the home was not well maintained.

House: very spacious, comfortable, great a/c, plenty of hot water and towels, HE washer and dryer. Pool: kept beautifully clean. Lake access: not so great for launching our kayaks as very rocky, a ladder off the boat dock would have been nice . Lake area: not suitable for swimming as house located on an inlet of the lake with lots of water weeds. (But we enjoyed seeing the ducks and other wildlife living in the rushes) The owner did alert us to the loose paving slabs around the pool, and that some of the boards around the dock were also in need of repair. So beware of tripping hazards. There were a few things in the house in need of repair/replacement and deep clean which I have told the owner about so he can take care of them before the next guests. We enjoyed the proximity to Guntersville with major grocery stores and a selection of restaurants. Unfortunate that trash only collected on Thursday as cans already full from previous guests. The house certainly met our needs and we had an enjoyable vacation. With a thorough deep clean and improved maintenance the house could be a 5+ star.

We really enjoyed our first family vacation to Guntersville. I texted Sam on the morning of our arrival to see if we could arrive any earlier than 4pm and he wasn’t sure it would be ready any earlier. He texted back around 1pm to say it was ready because he had housekeeping clean our house first. The house had so much room for gathering in the huge great room, kitchen, dining room. The bedrooms are spaced so far apart nobody was bothered if people stayed up late or went to bed early. The teenagers loved the hall bunks because it was like a cozy little room away from everybody. The pool table was a hit and we really enjoyed the swimming pool with the waterfall. The tropical landscape and rock wall just added to the relaxing atmosphere. One person did some fishing and caught 3 good size catfish and a largemouth bass while enjoying morning coffee on the dock while in the shade. Oh and we locked ourselves out of the house one day and Sam came right over and let us in. Our annual family vacation is usually at the beach but I have to say we loved our time here this year plus the drive home was only 40 minutes for most of us!!

Our family of 11 absolutely loved this vacation. Everything was as we had hoped. The house was gorgeous, roomy and clean. The pool was amazing and we definitely couldn't complain about the lake. There was an initial hiccup in the reservation being double booked, but I worked with Sam, the owner, and he helped us get it taken care of. He was a joy to work with. We will definitely try to get back down to Guntersville, AL and the Greenwood Lake Houses.

Great place for large family or friends with kids! We had three couples and six kids and it was perfect. Plenty of space, well stocked kitchen and even some board games. We played Jenga, shot some pool, fished in the lake, grilled and relaxed by the pool.

The property owner was gracious and very available. However the property needs TLC. We experienced dead bugs throughout the property. We also experience spiders throughout our stay and cobwebs in the kitchen, bathrooms, ceiling fans, and bedrooms. All the bed linen was stained, which at a time like this raises concerns. We found food and other items in the couch from previous stays I supposed because they were not items we brought. Additionally, the tv in the main bedroom didn’t work, neither did the dishwasher. We understood based off the price point some things we would have to consider, but the stay was less than adequate.

This lakefront house and property is wonderful. We enjoyed our stay. The house was spotless. The pool was very clean and our young kids loved it! The owner is very easy to work with.

Our family stayed here over our sons wedding. The accommodations were perfect for us! The check in was effortless. We enjoyed our time together at this VRBO. Would recommend!

Great location and fit for 2 families (4 adults and 5 kids). Mr Greenwood was very accessible to anything we needed.

We had a great time while we were there. Big place to fit everyone, lots of things to do. Play pool (new pool sticks), watch movies with the whole family in the great room with the large screen TV, go swimming in the pool with the waterfall. We rented one of the boats from the property owner and made a day of that. We had some friends from the area come and cook out on the grill and entertain. We just had a great time. The property owner was a call away if we had questions or needed anything. We had a great time. Only things we would suggest is add more cooking pans/ dishes to the property or suggest large family’s bring additional. And have the cleaners give the floors a good scrub once a month? But this in no way takes away from the rest of the property and we will book a million times again.

Sam was very upfront with some things that needed repair and worked with us when we wanted to add a day. The place was amazing and we enjoyed everything and being close to town. We look forward to seeing the updates and staying again in the future!

Property needed more upkeep. Light bulbs out, stove burner not working, pool table and pool cues in terrible shape, flag stones around pool were loose and moved when you walk on them. Property has great potential but definitely needs upkeep.

We were very disappointed. Leaking toilet and refrigerator all over the floor. Owner did not think he needed to address it. Broke coffee pot. Beds unable to be slept in for fear of breaking. Numerous light bulbs out. Spider webs, live wasps nest all over the porch and front door. We had to purchase spray to keep wasps under control. Pontoon boat rental was a joke. Decided on 2 day to forget about it because it wasn't there on property as promised. The floors was so dirty that we would not go barefoot in the house. The oven was so dirty it was unusable. Pool table a joke. Pools sticks with no ends so we could use the table that we paid for. Parking is ridiculous. I can't believe with the owner living next door the shape of this property. He should invest some of the money he extorted from us and do some maintenance and proper cleaning. I will be reporting to the BBB there and the Guntersville City health department. It is unsafe by the pool. Broken stones, unlevel when you walk on it. Had to buy water shoes so no one would get cut from the tiles. I had my family that lives in Guntersville over and they could not believe the condition of the property. Very sad. I can tell the owner is not a local because he does not care about the image of Guntersville. I was born here and I do care.

Great time Great house

Disappointed in the cleanliness and shape of the rental. It needs a lot of upgrades. Pots, pans and utensils were in bad shape. We had to wash everything before we could use it. The coffee pot didn't work but the owner did bring a new one. The tiles around the pool were damaged but the owner stayed it would be fixed on Friday. Of course. That's after our family vacation. Lots of lighting and plugs did not work. I hope the owner remedies our issues so the next VRBO customers have a great time. But, I will say, we still had quality family time together.

The pool was. A big hit with the family! It’s been our 2nd time renting. Love it!

We had a wonderful time at the Greenwood House and would recommend it to anyone . More than enough room for the ten of us , a great pool and close to stores , restaurants and the awesome lake ! Give it a try and I'm sure you will feel the same as we do .

There were many small things needing repair. there were light bulbs burned out, TV's that did not work and the Freezer leaked water off and on. The owner was friendly and tried to help as best he could, but we were only there three nights and attended a family wedding while there.

We enjoyed our stay on the property! It's a great summer lake home with an easy access location to many area attractions, grocery stores, restaurants and parks in addition to the lake access. The owner, Sam, who is right next store is very accessible for questions. I did give it a 4 for cleanliness not really because of the house but because of a bee situation around the porch and pool which I believe is due to the early spring time when the bees are just starting to move around. It wasn't till our drive back that the kids said that the bees really bothered them. One set is bumble bees which I believe are endangered and I was happy to see them thriving. The other is a type of wasp/hornet which the kids said concerned them during the middle part of the day. I am allergic to bees but I wasn't really nervous at all because they seemed to leave us alone! I am sure that Sam will work on that if they become more of a problem. The house has lots of space, places to play games, and areas to play yet enough privacy if a few want some separate time. We rented the pontoon boat which has a tow attachment and we got experienced wakeboarders up on our own board. Two of our college kids had online classes including exams during our stay and the internet worked great!! One other thing to realize is that the driveway coming in is very steep and lets you know you really are in a mountain area!

We rented this property for the weekend for a family wedding. The parking is very dangerous and limited. The master bath tub drain was clogged, someone’s swimsuit and dirty towel was hanging behind the bathroom door downstairs, and the second bedroom frame was barely connected to the bed frame. It was sparsely decorated with few luxuries available.

This house was amazing! I booked for 13 guests and it was more than enough room . Sam the house owner was so nice and helpful. Every time i needed something he took care of it expeditiously! The house was so nice and clean ! The pool was so clear ! We really enjoyed ourselves. If you’re visiting, please book this stay !

When I contacted Sam about renting his house for our Family Reunion, my first question was asking if his home would accommodate 25 people. He was very prompt to respond and informed me that the home would sleep comfortably 14 but that he had another home right next door that shared the same yard that would sleep 14 as well. I looked at both properties and decided to reserve both for our BIG Family Reunion as we had guest coming from as far as California. After I reserved, I asked Sam if I could come view the properties to make sure the accommodation's would work and also get a plan of sleeping arrangements, activities and such for our reunion. He had no problem and met with us so we could. For months there was several communications with Sam as questions would arise and he was always prompt to answer within the day. Upon our arrival Sam had a unexpected emergency. He was still prompt in trying to resolve some issues even though the unforeseen was going on with him. I can't say enough how much Sam is awesome to work with and rent from. This house is absolutely gorgeous. We put 8 couples comfortably at this home and everyone enjoyed their stay. The pool is gorgeous but being that our stay was late September the weather had already turned off cooler so the pool water was a little too cool to enjoy. The other home is where we conjured for the days and so the ones staying in this home had no problem walking back and forth. This home has a pontoon boat and jet ski rental in which we took advantage of as well. No complaints here and I have already booked for another stay at this home in November!

We had an amazing trip! The house was absolutely beautiful and spotless! The property owner was extremely nice and helpful with any of our questions. The house was completely stocked with plenty of towels, wash cloths, pillows, sheets, toiletries, pots/pans, utensils, etc. We were very pleased with our choice of renting this property. We will definitely rent it for future trips back to the lake!

I finally got to celebrate being finished with chemo and this place was perfect! Will definitely rent again so kids can come and enjoy the pool!

The home and grounds were really nice. We all enjoyed the pool with the waterfall. Fishing was great, caught some very nice bass.

As described on Vbro. Needed a change of location during the pandemic that didn't involve crowds. Clean, great location on lake, great pool. Looking forward to coming back again.

Our family enjoyed our week of social isolation and amazing relaxation. This was a perfect place to get away from it all. Mr. Greenwood took good care of us and quickly addressed a few tiny issues (like getting a few extra dish towels). The kids loved the pool and we did too. Really enjoyed having a drink on the front porch in the evening and then retreat back into the air conditioning when it got too warm.

This was a family vacation with my sons, daughter- in-law, grand daughters, and my mother. The cleanliness of the home was okay. There were plenty of towels, but only one dish towel. The pool was clean, and my grand daughters loved it. The home itself is in need of of some TLC, but we enjoyed our stay!
