Lovely place for a short stay in Sitka.

This is a beautiful, well maintained property that easily accommodated 4 adults. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived. It is located just on the edge of town up on a hill. Gorgeous views and easy access to food and stores. It is beautifully decorated inside.

We came to Sitka to visit our son who is working there for the summer. Our stay was great. We were overwhelmed with the beauty of the island. I didn’t think seeing a Bald Eagle would ever become just another bird sighting, but there are a lot of eagles in Sitka! It was nice to have a rental car as the downtown area would have been a bit of a walk. The accommodations were great. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Couldn’t quite get used to it being pretty light at 10:00 pm, and 3:30 am. We had a great stay.

This is a beautiful studio apartment. We experienced great communication and response to inquiries. We picnicked on the deck with views of Mount Edgecumbe in the distance. The open floor plan is good for families or close friends. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed for the meals we elected to cook at home. As mentioned in the description we could hear the puppies playing upstairs at times but it was not a problem for us - we all have dogs at home! We truly appreciated the hospitality!

Lovely, spacious unit. Very modern, all furniture and beds are comfortable. Views of Edgecumbe and a wonderful outdoor space. Easy to town and marinas. We will 100% consider this rental again on our next trip to Sitka.

All of our needs were met in the extremely accommodating home. Beds, bedding, kitchen and bathroom had all the conveniences. We highly recommend this property for groups!

Impeccably clean and well stocked studio at the edge of the forest with a great view. Easily accommodates 4, could handle up to 7. You’ll want to have a car as it’s at the top of a big hill and taxi service in Sitka is hit or miss.

The property is beautiful. Scenery is breath taken. Seen Eagles, the water way, mountains. My son and I stayed 7 days. The home was very clean and well taken care of. The host Val was very sweet. Answered questions we had or needed. We really enjoyed our stay. Sondra and TJ

This is a beautiful property and a very well done rental space. I didn’t want to stay in a hotel and this was the perfect option for my stay. Centrally located but nicely tucked away with a million-dollar view. Very comfortable and spacious, thank you for your hospitality!

Val did a great job supplying the space, and providing a welcoming and comfortable spot in Sitka. We would stay here again. There were only two of us, but the space would be comfortable for more. The area is quiet, the patter of dogs in the house overhead felt cozy, and we were within a five minute drive to the main attractions, hikes, and groceries.

I love this house. Family that runs it are so kind. Place is clean and ready to go. This is the only place I like to stay.

Easy working with owner. Lovely LARGE and homey studio space with separated sleeping areas. We actually loved listening to the pups upstairs (missing our own). Wish we could have stayed longer.

Owner’s description is accurate. It is their place of residence. You will hear dog activity. If you book, the beautiful overlook view is worth the drive and the occasional sounds of family life. It was the perfect place for us. Book a rental car as you will not be in downtown Sitka. Val is a super friendly and helpful.

Amazing space and clean setup. On a hill overlooking the sound and comfortably sleeps 4 people I’d say. Everything was really wonderful with space and communication. The only and single drawback is if you want complete peace and quiet or are not an early riser, they have a few dogs that run around upstairs and the walls are thin so you hear them easily. Also they are let out at 7ish and that will most likely wake you up if you’re not a very sound sleeper. If you don’t mind this, then you found yourself an amazing spot

Val’s place was perfect for our visit to Sitka to see our daughter and her husband. The place was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed. We didn’t cook but the kitchen appeared well stocked. The house is conveniently located just out of the main part of town but close to everything. Thanks Val for sharing your great space!

I'll lead with the only 2 "negatives" I/we had (note: We would 100% stay here again, and recommend you do too). The negatives: Unless you prefer the softest mattress ever, you will find it challenging to be comfortable on the main (queen) bed. It is the spongiest mattress I/we have ever slept on. When you sit/lay on it, you sink way down. For us, it was not comfortable...but we were active and tired enough, we still slept ok, but under normal circumstances, it would have been a no-go. Second, as noted in the property description, the owners live upstairs (with their dogs) and you will hear some foot/paw activity. This wasn't an issue except for one afternoon. We were still adjusting to the 3 hour time change and after returning from a physically demanding hike, we were really tired and wanted to take a nap. There were workers on the property that the dogs were NOT impressed with and I think the owner was away because for about a half-hour, the dogs were pretty much non-stop barking...which made napping impossible. However, as soon as the owner returned, we never heard another peep...and I would note that in our 4 night stay, this was the ONLY time the dogs were bothersome. I share these two "negatives" simply so you can be prepared, but I recommend you don't either be deal breakers. All the rest is SO positive. This was our first trip to Alaska I THOROUGHLY researched ALL hotel & VRBO options and landed on this one, and I am so glad! Val (the owner) was amazing with prompt communication and answering a bazillion questions. We loved the beautiful, open layout that had everything we needed and more. The place was spotless and so welcoming. The bathroom shower was beautiful and had plenty of room for my bride-of-32-years and I. (Yeah. I went there. ;)) The place has lots of windows and you're up on a mountainside, somewhat secluded, with a great view! With this as our home base, we were centrally and conveniently located whether going to town or heading south for one of the most beautiful hikes we've ever been on (Herring Cove Trail. I HIGHLY recommend you make the hike!). I could go on and on, but if we ever go back, we wouldn't even waste time considering another VRBO or Hotel. We would simply stay here. I recommend stopping by AC Value Center to get any groceries, and definitely coffee pods! FYI, everything cost DOUBLE on the Island, so be prepared. We also highly recommend Cpt. I stayed here in July 2021 with my wife and 1 year old son. We cannot say enough good things about this place! It is immaculate, extremely clean, and the views of Sitka Sound are unbelievable. This house is located at the base of a mountain overlooking the town. We were lucky enough to be there on the night of the annual Sitka fireworks and had a perfect view from the property. While not walking distance to town, it is only a few minute drive to get anywhere you want to go. Ty and Val were great to communicate with before and during our visit. We loved our stay in Sitka and when we return, we will definitely stay here again!
