Joan and Bob's property is just as pictured with great access to the lake and private dock. We really enjoyed the included kayaks as well as proximity to hiking, biking and Glenn Arbor. We will stay here again.

This garage apartment was the perfect place for us! Bob and Joan are so welcoming and have created a renter's dream! The apartment is comfortable and cozy with a gorgeous view of the water. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to prepare home-cooked meals including our own barbecue. We had our own deck and dock complete with kayaks. We stayed for three weeks and wish it could have been longer! We will definitely be back!

Excellent stay near Glen Arbor
Wonderful hilltop lakefront location on Little Glen. The in-law apartment over the garage was as comfortable and easy to use as you could hope for.

Wonderful!
Perfect for a couple’s retreat! We actually stayed for a full 2 weeks and it was perfect - private, clean, right on the water but still close to lots of dining and other activities! Bob and Joan were excellent and friendly hosts!

Don't stay here because we want it all to ourselves
Really nice for couples! Very well designed and built apartment with nice deck and uniquely sheltered dock landing where we spent much time sitting and enjoying the lake. Centrally-located in the Sleeping Bear and Glen Arbor area. Kitchen is nicely-stocked if you prefer to eat in, or grill. A fine getaway, nice hosts.

Lovely Property
My husband and I enjoyed a week at this lovely property! We have been coming to the Leelanau area for 30+ years. This was our first time staying here and hope to return in the future. Bob and Joan are kind and gracious hosts! The apartment was such a pleasure to stay in. The trees, the water, the location...just beautiful! We did not have the best of weather, but when we did have a break from the rain, we enjoyed a drive thru Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, a hike to Empire Bluff, sunsets in various beaches, a long bike ride on the Tart Trail, shopping in TC, and trying out a few new restaurants (WREN and Mundos Coffee House, Suttons Bay, Broomstack Kitchen, in Maple City, and Farm Club in TC)! Do try to make it to Moomers Farm for the best ice cream experience, also in TC! It was always a welcome to return from our outings, to a comfortable and pleasant place!

Wonderful Week
We spent a wonderful week in Bob & Joan’s place, and could not have been happier. Sparkling clean, perfect location, and lots of amenities. Communication with the hosts was great, and as an added bonus, Curley (the dog & co-host) brought us a twig or leaf as a present every day! Can’t wait to return next year.

Very comfortable apartment!
Very cute and well appointed apartment. Owner was available for anything we needed. She was kind enough to mail some things we left behind. Lake worked well for our paddle boards and the pontoon boat we rented.

Return visit did not disappoint
As the title indicates, this was our second stay at the Hawley property. We found it so appealing last Fall that we booked it again this year. It is a perfect spot for two people! You have all the comforts of home and a beautiful view of Glen Lake! Even with rain and cooler temperatures, our visit was a memorable one! We may just have to go for number three next year!

Wonderful Experience
A quiet and relaxing location to stay! The apartment is private (separated from the main house) with it's living room windows offering a beautiful view of Glen Lake. A small private dock is located on the water for the guests, separate from the owner's dock - great for morning coffee by the water! The apartment is kept clean and provides all necessities with the exception of towels/bed linens/toiletries (which the owner notifies you about before visiting so you can prepare). The apartment is in a great location that allows easy access to the local attractions such as Sleeping Bear Dunes, Cherry Republic, and local wineries and restaurants. Bob was easy to communicate with and offered us suggestions for things to do in the area. If you're interested in a relaxing trip near Glen Lake, I highly recommend taking advantage of this beautiful property!

Paradise
Glen Lake views out your windows, comfortable outside patio and seating on the lake's edge. Kayaks beached and ready to paddle to the dunes for a closer look. The apartment provided all we needed to come home make dinner and get a good night sleep. Biking, walking and kyaking trails in all directions. Picturesque Glen Arbor a few miles away.

A great week up north!
We had a great experience at the carriage house! We have stayed in multiple different places in this area, but none have been as nice! The kitchen and bathroom are updated with beautiful countertops and appliances. The bedroom is large as well. There’s a great outdoor sitting area with a view of the lake as well as a private deck/dock on the lake. The owners were wonderful and helpful too. The location is great since it’s on the lake, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and the Heritage Trail are right there. Overall, we had such a wonderful experience and I’d definitely recommend this place as well as want to return again! We joked that it is so perfect that we’d just like to stay there and not leave!

Wonderful stay!
Such a lovely place. So clean and the property is beautiful, great views of Little Glen and Big Glen. Loved the space down by the water and watching sunsets. We brought our boat and the launch is just down the road and it was great to be able to keep our boat in the water too. So many places to explore close by... hiking, biking, wineries, beaches, great food. And it was great to have laundry in the unit as well! Wonderful place to stay!

We love this place, an annual tradition
This was our 3rd summer staying in Bob & Joan's guest cottage. We love the location, being on the lake and how it feels like a home away from home. We look forward to returning for many years to come. Bob & Joan, thank you for your hospitality.

Perfect getaway
Great apartment on a waterfront property on Little Glen Lake. Bob & Joan were great at check-in. The apartment is very comfortable, everything provided (except sheets & towels). Loved having our own private waterfront deck and dock with kayaks for our use. We will be back! Thank you!

Beautiful place!
I made a huge mistake with booking (wrong dates). Bob was understanding and able to accommodate us. We were sooo thankful for that! This couples retreat was beautiful and nicely decorated. The views were beautiful. If you decide to stay here, you most definitely will not be disappointed!

Attractive apartment with large windows and great lake view
Bob and Joan have done a good job of creating an attractive space that maximizes the view of Glen Lake. It’s a great place to relax or to use as a home base for outings to nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City and communities on the Leelanau Peninsula. Bob and Joan have lived on the property for quite awhile and can provide a great deal of information about the area.
A highlight for us was enjoying morning coffee on the small deck right at the water’s edge. Although we didn’t use it, there is another lovely deck space right by the entrance that provides a good lake view also.
We definitely will consider a return trip to this unique property.

Simply Stunning and Clean
This apartment is beautiful, new, and extremely clean. Plus it has private decks, and a dock separate from the main house with a gas grill. Bob and his wife are very welcoming and are more than happy to answer any questions about the area (where to eat, etc.). We were only able to escape to this place for a few days but we plan on returning. It’s the perfect size for a couple’s retreat and the heated floor in the bathroom is a huge bonus with the chilly mornings. Glen Lake is crystal clear and stunning. We can’t wait to go back!

Comfy couples retreat
My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend in this comfortable one bedroom apartment. The apartment was immaculate and well appointed. It has a light and airy décor which is enhanced by the beautiful views out the numerous windows. The property is conveniently located a short drive from restaurants, shops and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The lakes are crystal clear and perfect for kayaking. We enjoyed the private decks and watched the sunset and stars on numerous evenings. Our host Joan and Bob were warm and welcoming. The happily answered any of our questions and made wonderful suggestions about area dinning. We hope to visit this property again in the future.

Amazing place to relax for a few days
My girlfriend and I stayed in Bob & Joan's apartment for a very relaxing week this summer. Our favorite parts were the patio area outside the apartment with a grill and the lower dock. We grilled a few nights during our stay and the place had everything we needed to cook which was great. The lower dock is a great spot for reading, eating a snack or just relaxing with your feet in the water. We even got to take out the kayaks on the lake a couple times which was pretty fun. We loved the cool evening breezes and Bob & Joan were lovely hosts.
The location is a short drive into the town of Glen Arbor for a great grocery store and not far at all from the Sleep Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The drive to Traverse City was also a short ~30 min drive or so too. We'd definitely recommend the apartment for your next getaway!

Clean, Comfortable and Cozy
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable and cozy. Our hosts were gracious, helpful and happy to share suggestions about restaurants and attractions, but also respected our privacy. The private dock, kayaks and charbroil grill were all used on a regular basis. Long morning walks, the nearby dunes and kayaking on the beautiful lake provided a relaxing and restful setting. We would love to return to this enjoyable getaway!

We stayed in this apartment the 1st part of September. It exceeded my expectations. We loved it. My husband was not sure about this adventure but in the end said "I did good". We were greeted by Bob and his wife Joan. They truly have the gift of hospitality. The private dock and deck by the lake was beautiful along with the deck at the entrance of the apartment where we were able to grill. There were Kayaks and bicycles we could use. We had a wonderful morning Kayak trip on Glen Lake. BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you Bob and Joan.

We kayaked, relaxed, and watched beautiful sunsets over the dune. Interior is beautifully done and convenient with full kitchen, also washer and dryer. We found the location very convenient to the many places we love to visit in the area.

My wife and I have been coming up to Glen Lake for many years and we love it. "Couples Retreat"is a great place for a couple. The pictures are good but being in person is even better. The owners are very friendly and great ppl. You have everything you could possibly need while staying up on Glen Lake including your own private dock/deck on the water. I recommend.

We spent a quick weekend here for our anniversary getaway and we could not possibly be happier with our choice! A beautiful apartment, spotless, friendly owners. A great location, easy drive to countless restaurants, stores, and the dunes. We used their kayaks, and my husband spent a lot of time fishing. We will be back, without a doubt!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the apartment on Glen Lake. Everything in the listing and description was very accurate and the apartment was VERY clean and well maintained. Perfect place for two people. Very nice deck outside the apartment and a great dock to watch the sunset from. There is a nice gas grill on the deck and the kitchen is well equipped to do any cooking you may want to do. Bob and Joan are very nice and happy to answer questions/help in any way, but are not intrusive at all. Great location - for hiking, biking, golf, hitting - we did all three. We even took the kayaks out one day after a bike ride which was a lot of fun. I would highly recommend this apartment!

Recently renovated apartment over owner's garage..beautiful! Homey, cozy and functional (and spotlessly clean). The bathroom has a heated floor for those chilly mornings. Great location on the straits between the Glen Lakes. We loved listening to the wind in the trees outside the bedroom window and waking up to the sunrise over the lake that can been seen from the bed! Beautiful property. Owner very friendly and wanted to make sure we had a good time. We'll be back!

Very nice, basic, clean cabin with everything you need in a perfect location. Equal distance from north and south end of park so perfect for visiting both easily. The cabin is set far back from the road so very peaceful and the oversize front window makes the living room a very pleasant place to sit and muse. The park across the street is quiet and pleasant with a great dock you can hang out on and swim off after a day of exploring. Great place!
