Lovely, generous and hospitable hosts with lots of ideal recommendations. Comfortable clean room with a fan and lots of character. Great facilities and beautiful outside area, in a convenient location. I only wish we'd planned to spend longer here and in Girón.

Very welcoming.Lovely outside seating area that we were allowed to use during the day even after checking out. The owners are very kind people.

The window of the room opens onto an internal courtyard so privacy is a bit compromised.

Instagram? Place is more like a bed and breakfast, rather than a hostal. It is located in the historic district, close to shopping and the airport. The breakfast was delicious: yogurt, fruit, eggs, potatoes, fresh juice, and coffee. It was clean, cute, and quiet. The host recommended places to go see and where to eat. They also speak great English. I would highly recommend Hostal Cactus!

The couple running this hostel is lovely! We had great breakfast in the morning, and the hostel is located right near the centre of town. It has some nice places to relax! The beds and shared bathrooms are basic, but comfortable. All in all happy with this place!

The owners of the hotel are very kind people so the goal of this comment is not to damage the hotel image but it is more like a constructive comment so they can improve the hotel and it's infrastructures. Unlike other reviews we've read here, we didn't find the hotel clean. The common part of the entrance is very cluttered and has a kitchen (used by the owners) that has a lot of dirty dishes. So it's not pleasant to be in that common area. The rooms (at least our room is small and poorly ventilated). It had a lot of cobwebs on the floor and dirt/sand and some dust. There is no hot water in the showers which is supposedly justified by the hot weather... But it's still painful to have a shower there. The area outside also needs some works. We understand that they are still improving the things as they needed to adapt the life post pandemia but there is a lot to be improved. As said, this is not to harm anyone but just to say what we don't feel good about and what needs to be improved in our view as there is potential in the space. The breakfast is very good as so the location. Ps- we also understand that there are a lot of people very happy about their stay here (we actually booked this place based on the comments) but we found it very different from what we read.. Good luck and we wish the onwers all the best as they are really nice people.

the husband and wife are doing a wonderful job running the property. Very friendly and helpful indeed! Their 2 1/2 year old boy is very cute. Breakfast was exceptional, tasty egg , fresh fruit (mango papaya and banana), yummy yogurt with fresh strawberry topping .real refreshing fruit juice and delicious real coffee! And above all, the bread was homemade!

The family that runs the guesthouse was very nice. In fact, they're the best part of the place, and they were very willing to answer any questions that I had. In addition, breakfast was great. Also, it's a nice property with several places to hang out.

the stuff and the location. it’s just a small hostel with really good vibes. The location in the main square of the well preserved historic architecture gives us the whole experience. the room was really nice, a bit dark, but nothing to worry about it.

My friend was not allowed to enter. It can be unexpectedly hot at night, be ready as there is no aircon.

Fantastic hosts and perfect place to stay in Giron! Cactus is a cosy and calm hostel in two steps to main square. Rooms and common area are well maintained, exactly as shown in the pictures. All facilities are in excellent condition and the hostel is quite clean. Wifi connection was fast and stable. Location is very convenient and we loved being able to walk everywhere. And the hospitality is incredible! Helena and her husband Cesar are very welcoming, responsive and friendly. Every morning Helena served delicious breakfast in the nice patio. I would definitely recommend staying here.
