Gingerbread - Pacific Grove House - Close to Beach

Extremely clean, well stocked property in a very convenient location. Short walk to Lovers Point or Downtown restaurants and shops. Beautiful homes surrounding as well. Love the deck and office nook. Was slightly warm upstairs on arrival, but convenient upstairs windows provided great airflow and cooled the upper floor in a short time. Overall excellent experience.

My family and I planned a mini getaway before school to the Monterey Bay area for the first time from Southern California. From the start of our reservation, Michelle gave top-notch customer service! She was so pleasant to work with - I really enjoyed working with her! All communications related to our stay were sent out on time and the check-in and check-out process were very easy to follow. There were no over the top rules which made the whole process easy and enjoyable.
We stayed 3 nights at the Gingerbread House in Pacific Grove and we had the best time! It was my husband and I, plus 2 teenagers so it was a treat to see their faces when they saw the house :-) The house was very charming and comfortable! At night we loved putting on the fireplace and relaxed watching movies and the Olympics as we winded down from a busy sight-seeing day. We loved the dining room and kitchen! We were so surprised at how big both rooms were. The bedrooms were also very comfortable and spacious! My husband and I loved drinking our morning coffee out on the balcony off of the master bedroom. Of course my teenagers loved their rooms as they spent a lot of time behind closed doors relaxing :-) The location of the house couldn't have been better! The house is walking distance to the beach and to downtown PG. On our last day we took the short walk to the Red House Cafe for a nice breakfast. The whole house was lovely, but the #1 thing we appreciated so much, was that the house had a driveway! We noticed not all the houses in the neighborhood had driveways and only had street parking. The fact that we had a driveway made parking so much easier! Overall we had a fabulous time and hope to stay at The Gingerbread House again on our next visit to Pacific Grove!

This rental was outstanding. The house was beautiful, close to everything, including excellent restaurants and the Aquarium. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment and the furniture was comfortable. We would definitely rent this house again.
A few suggestions that did not affect our delight with the house:
1. The towels were plush, but badly snagged, with threads hanging all over them.
2. The sink handles need to be tightened in all bathrooms.
3. We really, really wanted to know more about the history of this lovely house.

The house was spacious, comfortable, and two blocks from the beach. We saw otters swimming in the ocean every day and walked to the marine sanctuary to watch the seals. Coffee shop and restaurants were two blocks in the opposite direction. The neighborhood was quiet, too. I absolutely fell in love with Pacific Grove and was so happy we stayed there instead of Carmel or Monterey. Sleepy beach towns are the best.

This is the third time my family has stayed at the gingerbread house. It’s very charming and suits us very well!
The rooms are comfy, the kitchen is well-equipped and the location is fantastic. An easy walk gets you to the beach, into town, to a playground, and for us it’s an easy walk to our relatives home.
My only suggestion would be to install a grab bar by the bathtub in the upstairs bathroom.

Great house in a great location. Just couldn’t get the guest shower to work. Called the maintenance phone and got a message explaining how it worked (which I already knew). No follow up. It was ok, just took baths.

The perfect place for the 4 of us on our annual girlfriend week-end. Lovely home, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location was beyond perfect, close to the beach and to the delightful town where we walked to the restaurants. I would definitely recommend it unconditionally and hope to come again with my family. Our only suggestion would be to do a step by step guide to the downstairs TV. We had a hard time figuring it out, but maybe it's because we're old!!
Thank you so much for sharing this delightful property.

Perfect location, close to downtown and ocean view walks. Beds were very comfortable. House is beautiful inside and out. Kitchen was spacious.

We had an overall great stay. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely equipped and clean. It was unseasonably warm for this time of the year and the temperature in the house was over 80 for 3 of the 4 days. There's no AC, but there were fans to try to cool off the house. All things otherwise were 5 stars.

very nice property with plenty of garage space and parking on the street.

My husband and I stayed here with our son and daughter in love and their two girls. It could not have been better! It was so comfortable and fun. There is a secret room that our 2 year old granddaughter just loved! The location was perfect. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the aquarium, beach, coastline and great meals - both out and take-in. We will definitely be coming back! Even met the neighbors across the street and found out they have a home near us in Reno.

What a stunning property! Everything was so cozy and prestine we immediately felt like home. When you stay here you genuinely feel like it could be your family's vacation spot.
The furniture was clean, there were so many amenities, and everything was up to standard

We were favorably, surprised at how wonderful this house was when we first open the door. It is an older home that has undergoing extensive, beautiful, and thoughtful renovation, making it perfect for a visit to Pacific Grove/Monterey. Michelle @montereyrentals.com was wonderful and made the whole process simple. The home is a short walk to the beach, and Pacific Grove is much less touristy or hectic than Monterey but right next-door To the aquarium, Cannery Row, etc. The home has a completely equipped kitchen, comfortable livingroom area, dining area, well appointed bathrooms, and comfortable beds. There is even a garage, which is of great benefit in California where parking sometimes is limited. We were a party of four adults and two young children. The children were excited to see the house well-stocked with games and other play items as well as a “Secret hideaway” they discovered upstairs. We highly recommend this rental.

This is our second time staying here and we’re so happy we did. It’s spatious and has what you need for cooking, sleeping and playing. We stayed with our family (boys ages 2/4) who love the little nook under the upper level. We walked to dinner, the beach, rented a surrey. I’d stay again.

Perfect location and lovely house for a butterfly and bird get-away for up to six people. We were five adults in 70's and 80's. The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The stairs are a bit of a challenge for the older folks. The upstairs bathroom tub needs a grab-bar or non-slip mat. It is very slippery and hazardous, especially for the older folks.

Great property rental company that rents this place. Clean & convenient location. Sleeps 6 but our experience re: beds & sheets:
1. If you have a taller or bigger frame, sharing a full /queen bed is uncomfortable. So, we split up and slept on floor and couch.
2. Bring your own cotton sheets if sensitive to polyester sheets. We were fluctuating between hot, cold & sweaty all night with Pacific Grove humid & cold climate.

We loved the house and the location. It is so close to downtown and the beach. We didn’t drive the car for all 3 days.

I lucked out in booking GingerHouse for my family vacation. The house has enough space to fit all 6 of us comfortably with a huge dining table where we spent evenings chilling and chatting with each other. There were ample bathrooms for all of us.
The neighborhood's nice and quiet. We were within walking distance to a few cute cafes that I would otherwise not know have I not stayed in GingerHouse.
Overall, it was a beautiful stay at GingerHouse and I can't wait to book it again if I have the chance. Thank you.

I have 0 complaints about this house which is rare for me. I have rented many homes over the years and this one did not disappoint. It was just as described and pictured. The accommodations were great, really good kitchen setup (important to me as I like to cook). The location was fantastic - walking distance to restaurants and the Ocean! I definitely recommend this property!

We stayed here for our Wedding Vow Renewal and it was a perfect place. We had plenty of room and the furnishings were very nice. We sat out on the balcony in the mornings with our coffee and pastries. We were close to town and also the beach. Overall a very nice stay. Thank you!

Very spacious and well equipped. Abundant carpeting is tattered and very well-used. Screens on widows needed as no air conditioning.

Felt right at home!
My family and I stayed at Gingerbread the last week of May. Both the weather and the house were superb! The house was an easy walk to the ocean walk/bike path, and Lover's Point beach. It was also a short stroll to a coffee shop that my husband in particular enjoyed every morning. The beds were comfortable, the house clean. I would add two amenities: a new can opener (we borrowed the neighbor's! She was so kind!), and a vase for flowers. Otherwise, we were perfectly comfortable. We especially loved what we came to call "the tower room" with its light and comfortable setting.
