We had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and Randy & Becky are great hosts. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and some enjoyed kayaking and the peddle boat. We held the newborn baby goats and petted Wilbur the pig. Little Molly and Cooper are so cute. The scenery is so relaxing and we got an exciting tour of the property!

Every year my family tries to plan and take one vacation to include all of us. It's myself, my wife, my six children (including one son-in-law), and 2 grandchildren so planning starts early as we all have work schedules to coordinate (except the grandchildren of course). And the venue we select has to give us options. While we are family, we are all a little different. Well Randy and Becky's wonderful property was perfect! I could have stayed on the property the entire trip...just fishing in the stocked pond, enjoying the wildlife, and the incredible views! But there is so much to do in the area, Amicalola Falls State Park was awesome, the Big Foot museum was neat, the gold mine tour was incredible, and downtown Dahlonega was just delightful. The house was more than enough space for 10, and was just beautiful. We also played a couple of disc golf courses in the area that were somewhat challenging but alot of fun. This is a great place to stay, so don't think about it anymore. Just book it. I 'll be back....I'm not sure when yet, but hopefully soon. Thank you Randy and Becky, and say hey to Wibur for me.

We rent a house to vacation in each summer for our family which is currently 8 kids and 8 adults ages 8 to 69. In the last 30 years we've stayed in many houses in many parts of the country and Bear Ridge Lodge is the most idyllic. You truly can't beat the view. The kids loved the lake; even the teenagers were happy. Since there aren't any neighbors the kids could yell and scream as loud as they wanted while swimming, boating, and fishing. The animals were a huge hit. The kids wanted to be at the house each day when it was time to walk the goats and the pig, who was a new addition. We were pleased to find that there was plenty to do in the area. The house itself is beautiful and set up well for a large group. There are plenty of places to sleep, plenty of bathrooms, and the living area is a great layout for cooking, eating, playing games, and watching movies with cousins. Last and certainly not least, Randy and Becky are excellent hosts. We wanted for nothing, they went out of their way to make us feel at home, and are more than happy to share their property, home, and animals with their guests. We left vacation with 2 new friends. A highlight was the last night we were there Randy came and got us and pointed out a bear feeding across the lake on a plum tree. I have more great things to say, but I keep exceeding VRBO's character limit so I went back and deleted stuff so that I could tell you to just go ahead and book a stay here.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Randy and Becky were amazing hosts, always asking if there was anything else we needed or what they can do to make it more enjoyable. We wanted a place with beautiful views and a cozy atmosphere to enjoy time with friends and family and this property was exactly that. The property even exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend this location. The goats were a hit!

Our family had a great time staying at Randy and Becky’s lodge. They were great and responsive to anything we needed. They allowed our kids to feed the goats, ducks, chickens, and rabbits. Our kids, especially my older son, learned a lot when we stayed at the lodge on New Years Day. I wanted to respond to another review regarding the road to the lodge, it was one lane (gravel, dirt, paved), but there were not many homes on the road and we never met another vehicle coming or going from the property. The view of the lake and falls from the lodge were absolutely beautiful. Love staying here and hated that we had to leave. We hope to stay here again and would definitely recommend.

Had a great time staying with family at Bear Ridge Lodge over the Christmas holiday. Provided the perfect getaway and back drop for our trip. Would definitely stay again.

The property was beautiful and well-maintained. The drive in was a bit harrowing: a single lane, some gravel, some mud, some paved. Randy was very responsive to questions.

We loved everything about this place. It was great in every way. The views are phenomenal. We loved Becky and Randy. They helped us with any and all that we needed. I would definitely suggest the lodge to anyone who asked!

Our large extended family fit very comfortably in the home. The home was stocked with everything we could possibly need or use. We enjoyed the outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, and watching the hummingbirds from the back porch. The animals are a huge hit, the kids look forward to the daily walks with the goats. 10/10 would recommend this property and owners!

This big gorgeous home is at the end of a mountain trail and boasts large spacious bedrooms, a huge, well-appointed kitchen, a wraparound porch, and terrific temperature control. It truly is as beautiful as the images portray. We hosted a family reunion for 25 people across two properties (only 15 folks stayed at the lodge). The home had lots of space for small groups to reconnect. We got plenty of laughs from the rocky, single lane approach road to the house, but most of us had rented SUVs so everyone enjoyed the adventure! We also brought all the food we needed and didn't plan for anyone to head out and grab meals. Truly--it was a lovely space.

What an amazing property. This home is huge, the living areas and kitchen were amazing. We loved all the space. Easily fit the 13 of us. Bedrooms we’re comfortable. We enjoyed the pool table and the large table downstairs to play games on. The fishing and lake added to the fun. One of the highlights was Charlie the baby goat. Overall the home is well cared for. The drive in is a little rough and has some steep parts but that is to be expected in a mountain cabin. Plenty of parking area.

Our family of 17 stayed 5 days in July. The house was perfect! It was open, clean, and had plenty of things for everyone of all ages to do. We loved feeding Charlie (the baby goat), fishing, boating in the lake, and watching all the humming birds. Would definaly recommend this great home away from home to others.

This was a great weekend! Randy and Becky Harris (Property Owners) were awesome, attentive and made sure our entire family had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. The Bear Ridge lodge has everything... Lake for swimming, fishing, goats, chickens and rabbits that the children enjoyed everyday. Randy made was gracious enough to arrange runs into town, picking up food, groceries etc. By the time we left, we all made a new friend in Randy and Becky.. What a great weekend. Highly recommend a stay at Bear Ridge Lodge!

Are experience was exceptional! Randy and his wife were so helpful with all our questions and very welcoming! They became like part of the family. Randy is hilarious and full of knowledge and stories. They both showed us the farm and let us fed some of the animals, it was really cool and the place is absolutely beautiful!

All I have to say is that this was the PERFECT place for us to take our group of 16 to stay for their senior year trip. Everything about it was exactly as described, and the service and host interaction was very helpful. Randy called multiple times to check and see if we needed anything when he went into town, etc. We didn't feel like a bother at all and they were incredibly accommodating. It was overall so beautiful, peaceful, fun, and amazing!

Very seamless and lovely property. Very close to Amicalola Falls. Paddle boat. Fire pit. Friendly goats, chickens, and bunnies. Lots of room for everyone. Just be sure and check all of the additional fees which are not listed with the daily rate.

This property was beautiful. You have privacy from the owners if you want but Randy and Becky are open to chat with you and have kids come see the animals and make the experience memorable for them. Definitely a bed and breakfast vibe. If it’s rainy or icy, I recommend 4wd because it’s a steep drive in and out. If you get stuck though, Randy will help you get out! Had a great time!

We were looking for a place in the mountains for us, our married children and grandchildren. Bear Ridge was the perfect pick as lots to do on premises and multiple restaurants amd small towns within 45 minutes. It’s secluded but not too remote. The hosts, Randy and Becky, live on premises and were available for any help. They made it a very special experience for our grandkids, 8 thru 11, by including them in feeding and walking the animals. Chickens, turkeys, quail, ducks and walking the goats down to the mailbox. Also, the boys enjoying fishing on the lake. This would be a good choice if that is the type vacation you are looking for.

Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachia mountains, a short distance to the start of the Appalachian trail and within eye sight of Amicalola Falls, Bear Ridge Lodge is an ideal property for groups of 16.
Randy and Becky Harris our host, were outstanding. It was so nice having them on-site and they were very responsive to our questions especially when it came to how things worked. The Lodge was very clean and accommodating for all ages. Becky and Randy were very informative describing to us all the animals including the goats, ducks, chickens and Tom the turkey. This was big hit with our kids and the adults too. The fire pit, fishing and hiking are all there for one’s use.
Honestly, there are not enough accolades for Bear Ridge Lodge and Randy and Becky Harris. Enjoy!

Our family of 16 stayed at the lodge for a week and had such a wonderful time. The lodge is huge and beautiful and the outside with its own pond and loads of little fish, ducks, goats, chickens, hiking trails and fire ring with swing and a beautiful hot tub provided entertainment for everyone. We feel like Randy and Becky are a part of the family. They are wonderful to visit with and really care your visit is perfect. If they went to town they checked to see if we needed anything as stores are a bit of a drive. The view is spectacular and seeing as we were there in October the leaves were turning and falling and you couldn’t ask for anything more beautiful. The pictures of the lodge and property are just what it is. The rooms are spacious just like they show, the kitchen is georgous and had everything you need to cook plus so much more. Also it doesn’t tell you but there is a great laundry room beside the kitchen with another refrigerator that was vital to us with so many people to feed, another microwave and sink besides washer and dryer. If you get a chance to go to this “Little Piece of Heaven” by all means GO! You won’t regret it . It’s perfect in every way.

Randy and Becky were extremely friendly/helpful and showed an abundance of that old Southern Hospitality during our stay. The children loved the animals; especially, feeding the goats, chickens, ducks and of course the walks with Tom The Turkey!
House was extremely spacious and clean. Very close to Amicalola Falls, Ellijay, and Dawsonville so it's very well situated for a base of operation to other areas of interest.
Thanks for the use of your home and all the extras, so we could enjoy our son's wedding.

The grands (ages 9-17 months) had a blast feeding the animals and walking the goats. The older ones all enjoyed fishing, kayaking and paddle boating. Great place for family to stay and plenty of room. The location was close to the falls and Burt’s Farm. Wish we had more time to visit other areas close by.

I have been on cabins before but this one is very unique. If you are going with the kids they will love the animals Randy and Becky have there ☺️☺️, just book it, awesome place.

Decided on this property for my family's first ever big family trip (parents, 6 adult siblings, and the grandkids and spouses), and we couldn't have been happier. Our only regret is not booking more days.
Randy was extremely responsive and helpful in walking us through the cabin and giving us input on things to check out around the area. I've stayed in cabins before without the property manager being anywhere nearby, but we appreciated having them walking distance as we did walk over to borrow some aluminum foil one night which Randy graciously gave us. It felt like having a friendly neighbor. My family does tend to be a little loud during the day, so I was glad to hear the cabin is pretty well sound proofed as we didn't hear all the grandkids making a ruckus outside when inside with the doors closed trying to relax.
The kayak and peddle boat were a huge draw as my family did a lot of fishing while staying. And there were more towels than the 18 of us could use up in our 3 nights there, but I appreciated having access to a washer/dryer in case we did need to do a load.
Definitely a lovely place and again thank Randy for his hospitality!

We had 13 staying this past weekend . . from 8 months to 65! There was plenty of room for all. Randy and Becky are great hosts and are available on the property for any issues. The kitchen was wonderful for preparing meals. The view spectacular for early morning coffee or late night chats! The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay. We had kids 10-17, adults and grandparents. All had fun at Amicalola Falls state park, many activity options. Rental home was clean, peaceful, and stocked with needed supplies. The animals were fun to see. Loved the baby goats. In surrounding forest, we saw deer and mama bear with 2 cubs. Randy was helpful, social, always around if need anything, and wanted to make sure all was great.

Wonderful north Georgia escape
This is an impressive mountain lake property with a view of Amicalola Falls and plenty of space inside and outside. The kitchen is enormous, there's great seating for having a big family dinner, and it felt a sociable environment for the family. The whole property is also very clean. The owners are hospitable and engaging people. We enjoyed our stay here.
