This property is beautifully maintained, a peaceful oasis off the beaten path! Charlie is so accommodating providing all of the comforts of home. Hot coffee, serene views and a bird sanctuary are just a few of our favorites! A beautiful local winery nearby with Lobster Rolls and gorgeous farm! And stop by Coastal Roasters for scones and coffee on the water! Highly recommend this getaway! We look forward to visiting again!

We had a lovely stay. The view was beautiful, and bed extra comfy! We enjoyed your drive into newport and was nice to get off the beaten path and stay somewhere new. The cutest coffee shop right down the street - Groundswell. Would stay here again!

Charlie was an amazing host-warm muffins and fresh fruit for breakfast- everything was just as advertised. Binoculars and telescope provided for birdwatching and stargazing. Spacious and clean spaces. We’d love to return!!

This property has a large suite on the top floor of a big house overlooking a bird/wildlife sanctuary. We lost count of how many egrets and herons we saw! The suite is very comfortable and felt like having our own apartment, with a bedroom, bathroom, and living/dining area. The proprietor, Charlie, was very friendly and accommodating! The surrounding area is a mix of shore, rural, and residential, and within easy access to beaches and walks. This was the ideal spot for our short getaway, and if we come back to the area, this will be our first call for a reservation!

My friend and I wanted to get away for a relaxing time close to nature and beaches. The suite extremely clean and comfortable with beautiful views. Charle was the ultimate host providing coffee, fresh fruit and breakfast staples every morning and ice when we requested it. Charlie even shipped my expensive shampoo and conditioner that I had left in the shower back to me at his expense! I look forward to my next stay! Debbie from CT

We loved staying in Charlie Sherman’s beautiful accommodation! It was spotless, light, airy and comfortable. The furnishings were lovely, with a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage for our belongings. Sitting on the small deck after a day of bicycling was paradise! My husband and I enjoyed the sunset each night.
Charlie is a perfect host and has thought of every detail! It is so nice to have the continental breakfast including fresh fruit. He had the coffee ready to brew each day, all i had to do was push a button! He responded immediately to all my texts, and answered every question I had. He was warm and welcoming, but he also respected our privacy.
The location is ideal, such a quiet spot but close to restaurants, cafes, and the beach! It is ideal bicycling territory, my husband and I loved the countryside with many farms, beautiful stone walls and sheep! Riding along the ocean was breathtaking!
Thank you Charlie for the exceptional getaway! We loved every second!

We had a very peaceful and relaxing time at this home. The Suite was large and very well kept. We especially enjoyed the balcony and the sunsets. Charlie was a great host and we will definitely come back.

We began and ended every day on the balcony overlooking the estuary…the view is incredible. It is a lovely, quiet spot with easy access to the bustle of Newport. Great restaurants within easy driving distance. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Little Compton. It is a lovely town and the property is on a quiet, dead end street. Our host Charlie went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. There were snacks and fresh water daily as well as breakfast foods. He even made us fresh muffins. The apartment was very clean and beautifully decorated. We hope to go back again

Amazing location & beautiful space
This place is a lucky find. We loved opening the French doors to feel the ocean air & to watch & listen to the birds, with the inlet just beyond. We were a quick drive from other beaches, great food, & nature conservancies.
Charlie was a wonderful host — making sure we had what we needed each day, while also giving us space and privacy. We appreciated the binoculars, local info, snacks, & fresh fruit Charlie provided.
I worked from ‘home’ — plenty of outlets & fast internet.

Absolutely lovely
One of the nicest places we have stayed. Location is great, away from hustle and bustle but easy access to Newport and surrounding area. Nice views from balconey. Charlie was a wonderful host. Highly recommend staying here.

We had a relaxing week at this VRBO. Beautiful views of the slat marsh where snowy egrets, glossy ibis and swans were seen daily. Beautiful Sunsets seen from the private deck. Our host treated us to fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins, excellent coffee to start off the day.

Vacation
The house and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The owner (Charlie) exceeded all expectations in providing everything we need to make our stay an exceptional experience. To setting up the coffee maker to making homemade blueberry muffins and a fruit salad that included fresh strawberries from his garden. It was an experience I would highly recommend and cannot wait to return again.

Spacious and comfortable stay with great views of an estuary. Watch the tides and birds come and go on your balcony. Our host, Charlie,
gave us a continental breakfast every morning and lots of great advice on where to go kayaking in the area.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is. The location was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet farm lands, wonderful shops, easy commute to Newport, winery across the street with wonderful wines. Only a couple miles to Tiverton with great shops and some nice restaurants. Charlie was a wonderful host! We will be back!

Two Thumbs Up
Stealing from Siskel and Ebert, we couldn't have enjoyed our weekend any more. Our aerie on the marsh was immaculate from the get-go. Charlie walked us through, showing us where everything was, and made sure we would feel comfortable contacting him if we had any questions or needed anything. Since they had thought of pretty much everything, though, we didn't really have any requests, and felt like we had complete privacy. The space itself was gorgeous, with such a wonderful view of the marsh and southern Rhode Island coastline that we spent more time than we expected to just observing from the back deck - the wildlife, the sky, the activity on the shore - and felt a deep sense of calm and peace. We would give our highest recommendation to Charlie and Sue's retreat.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is. The location was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet farm lands, wonderful shops, easy commute to Newport, winery across the street with wonderful wines. Only a couple miles to Tiverton with great shops and some nice restaurants.
