We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. Home was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed! Enjoyed the spectacular views, unique art and beach only 2 minutes away by car! This is a very clean, spacious and relaxing home. Everything there was top notch. I wish I would have gotten the necessities to make a latte with the espresso maker but I didn't want to take the time to do it. The beaches were beckoning me! We did very little cooking but everything was there if we had wanted to cook. We loved going from room to room looking at all of the gorgeous art. It is spectacular! Port Orford is my happy place. I will be back.

Good protection from the harsh coastal winds. Great place to relax and see lots of the local wildlife. Large yard with views of shoreline while being just a minute or two from Pier and town.

Breathtaking. Only a few things that need to be addressed 1) the master bathroom shower had a serious leak, 2) the front door was difficult - it needs to be adjusted in order to function, 3) there were no salad plates and very little in the way of kitchen utensils I.e. scissors that cut, a wine opener that works, etc.

The house is amazing. Quality appliances, OUTSTANDING ART, view of the ocean, clean, updated, quiet. Perfect. Thank you!!

Your property is awesome. Beautiful inside and out. We had a relaxing evening and enjoyed sleeping to the sound of the waves. Also wud like to recommend Redfish restaurant our breakfast was outstanding.

This is our most favorite place we have ever stayed!!! The views and sounds of the ocean were magic, the layout and floor plan flow so well, we didn’t want to leave! So close to town, but feels like absolute seclusion.

We really enjoyed our stay here. House is pretty spacious, especially kitchen, dining, and living room areas. Great view of the shoreline, Battlerock, and the port. We had fun watching through the binoculars provided by the host. A short, maybe 1 min, drive down to parking for the beach. Overall, a nice place for a family getaway.

Chris and Julie have a wonderful home in Port Orford and our party of 4 were very comfortable in the space. The home was sparkling clean and had all the amenities one might need including a well stocked kitchen and a beautiful view of the ocean out back. Chris was really communicative which helped make our stay easy and enjoyable. We definitely hope to be back one day!

You know how pictures sometimes don't do justice? Well, that was the case for Battle Rock House. Mind you, the photos look lovely, but the home is really, really lovely. Lots of space, great furnishings, interesting and eclectic artwork, very clean and well-appointed. It was a long drive for us, but well worth our trip. We met our friends from California and we hope to make it a yearly event!

The house, view and location was perfect for our family gathering. Although not directly on the beach, a gorgeous beach is less then 400 ft away. Our grandchildren found a small sand dollar!

Other than the weather our stay was great. After fishing all day the home was relaxing with great views. TV/internet/WiFi all worked well. Chris the owner was very helpful with anything we needed. We’ll definitely stay there again. Best, Joel

My friends and I had a marvelous time at this home. The home is well maintained, clean and spacious. The art work fills the house with color and some whimsy. We are all very much refreshed and invigorated from this journey.

Battle Rock House was the perfect place to start our tour of the CA & OR coastal areas. The house is wonderful with windows overlooking the coastline. It is on the forested hillside & is very private except for the occasional curious deer. We enjoyed the huge deck and it was hard to make ourselves leave. We were comfortable & felt right at home. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Battle Rock House.

The Hawthornes' Battle Rock House and Red Fish Grill provided us very comfortable and spacious lodging and a very fine dining experience. Our short stay in lovely Port Orford to enjoy sea kayaking and the beaches could not have been more enjoyable!!

Battle Rock house was our last stop after a whirlwind 2 week trip in Oregon with our older kids. It was so welcoming and comfortable! The house itself is beautiful with tons of windows looking out to the ocean. The big deck in the back was a great place to unwind and listen to the waves. We had two great diners at Red Fish as well which is also owned by the homeowners. We look forward to returning to Port Orford - it was one of our favorite spots in Oregon.

The home was exactly what the photos promised....an added bonus was being surrounded by all the art that was created by Chris, Julie and their son. It was private, yet you could walk to town in 5 minutes. I highly recommend this home.

We chose this rental because of the view and by far we were thrilled with our choose. Chris and Julie (the owners) have a beautiful home. From the easy to find location, to the stunning art displayed throughout the house, oh and have I mentioned the VIEW!! The master bed was very comfortable and we loved the walk in shower. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Outstanding home. Very comfy beds. Great view. Fun location for surfing. Road noise can be a small problem if you sleep with windows open; not horrible but noticeable. Good value. Outstanding art work and atmosphere.

What a great vacation rental! It was a beautiful home with great views and loved the location with lots of privacy. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in a comfortable home with a lot of charm and beautiful art work. Your home is magnificent. The location is beautiful. The view to the beach could not be improved. The town of Port Orford impressed us in many ways. The beach, the people, the resident whales. There are many things to do in addition to the beach. We rode our bikes, walked the grounds around the lifeguard museum, and visited the nearby Blanco Lighthouse and Hough House grounds. This included a stop to get fresh honey at Lee's Bees. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful home.

What a wonderful way to relax and unwind from the stressors of everyday life. The Battle Rock House has absolutely everything we could have asked for. From the time we entered the driveway, we knew we were in for something special. The home, which sits in the woods above the port, is absolutely beautifully furnished and overlooks the port and the ocean beyond. A glass of wine and dinner on the deck, and we were set. Our hosts, Chris and Julie, were very accessible,and even had fresh flowers to greet us upon our arrival. Even though we felt like we were out in the country, we were only about one minute from town with its quaint shops, great little restaurants (we liked Griff's at the dock the best) and of course the beach. We look forward to many more visits to Port Orford and the Battle Rock house. Please! Don;t change a thing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our three days at your Redwood Palace, Chris. The house is just gorgeous and the setting is equally gorgeous. Secluded yet right off the road, surrounded by trees with a view of the port. The house is built of redwood and is huge with literally an art gallery for your viewing pleasure. Everything is first class, first cabin and the seclusion and ocean/port view just tops off the experience. We will return as often as possible and thank you kindly for the hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our three day retreat in your art gallery/house.
