THE GOOD: Everything worked fine but the cabin is dated. Good location as far as a base camp. Felt safe for a family. Hot tub is a nice adder.
THE BAD: Need to fix door molding in bath downstairs. Toilet needs to be "re-seated". Need to fix screen door on sliding glass door to porch. Knives need to be sharpened. Dull knives are dangerous. Water temperature is set to an extremely high temp. Small children 6-11 can easily scald themselves. DVD wiring to den room TV is bad and makes watching movies with kids problematic. High pitched humming sound during DVD play. All of these items wouldn't take long fix to allow this to be a higher rating. It's the little things that people notice.

House was so clean. I agree with the other reviews it needs some updating. No much silverware but we made it work. Beds were comfy and if there could be a bathroom upstairs it would be over the top great!!

We are a family of 4 with two kids under 3. We stayed for an extended weekend and this was a perfect place for us. The layout is very open, everything was very clean, and exactly as described. In addition, the power went out briefly and Vacasa was extremely responsive in addressing the outage even though it was an issue in the area and not specific to the property. We would definitely stay again during future trips to the area.

Always a good home for Deep Creek
I've stayed at Life's A Bear several times over the last 13 years and it has always been a good home to rent. The house is dated, but it's solid and the location is great.
The hot tub (same hot tub for 13 years now) and rear deck could use some updating (some boards are very weak), but again the house is solid and the location is great.

Excellent place for a long getaway
This location was just what we needed. Secluded enough but you could still see the highway. Super close to restaurants and breweries. We plan on coming back.

Great spot
The property was very clean and it’s a nice big space. Pretty much all you need.
We had an issue with the internet but property management called and helped. Not enough of a signal for zoom call, oculus or Alexa/firetv once we got it up and running.
The only issues we experienced were very minor, not enough to give any kind of bad review:
The house is not quite as secluded as it seems in the photo (hot tub visible from road / neighbors, windows don’t have curtains and it felt a little like a fishbowl). No movie channels or ability to use our firetv, Alexa, etc.

Comfortably homey
If someone is looking for the Ritz-Carlton they won't find it here HOWEVER if their looking for a cozy - home feeling THIS is it!! We had a wonderful time here - it just felt right The hot tub worked, there were ample TVs and so many rooms for everyone to have a place to go Plus it was close to everything We couldn't have asked for a better place to be!!!! Thank you for letting us rent this home ❤️

Overall this place was ok, but it didn't have ac in the entire house, and the place smelled a bit musty in areas. And the rocking chair that was out front was not in the ground properly so you couldn't use it

Great place! Plenty of room!
We rented this place for a little get a way. The place had everything we needed and plenty of room. Our teens loved the hot tub. Would have been nice to be a little more secluded but over all it was a nice place! Would stay again!

Great deal for the price point!
Was looking for a place at Deep Creek with a hot tub on a time crunch. This place caught my eye due to the price and the hot tub. The place was very clean. There are no leftover spices or anything left behind from previous renters. Definitely bring everything that you could possibly need in terms of coffee, spices, sugars, and oils. There is a market less than a 2 minute drive from the property if you need anything that you forgot. If your going during the warmer months, bring a few fans. There is only an a/c unit in the master bedroom and ceiling fans in the living areas. We wish we would have had extra fans to pull the cool air at night into the house. Plenty of room for 2 families to vacation together, the layout was very thought out for a crowd. I’d recommend this place, it’s a good bang for your buck!

Check in and out process was a breeze. Property looked exactly as listed. Well stocked with dishes. Game selection was great. Hot tub was fabulous. Close to points of interest. My only complaint is that the furniture in the living room could use a good cleaning.

Enjoyed our stay
Nice property and location. Clean, stocked with everything we needed. Loved the hot tub. Only minor complaint is that the dishwasher did not clean the dishes well at all. We ended up having to hand wash everything while the dishwasher made a nice drying rack.

The photos looked exactly like the house! The place felt very homey and I like how it was in a private area as well. The wifi was fast and there was a variety of games to play as well. One thing, is the foosball table did not have a ball so it could not be played. The hot tub was relaxing and enjoyed throughout the whole trip. Very easy to check-in and check-out. It was a nice 3 hour getaway from our home which is in the city. I recommend getting breakfast from Trader’s Coffee! 4.5/5 stay!

Fantastic location and gorgeous property
Everything was wonderful during our stay. Well equipped with cooking gear. Comfy beds and a fantastic hot tub. Very close location to ski fields and nice little community. We will definitely be back.

So much potential, poor management
We've stayed here three times. This property is not fancy and could use an update, but it is practical and overall cozy/comfortable for a family. We love the location and the layout of the cottage. Our family of six can spread out and fit nicely into the space. We have seen a decline, however, in the condition of the property over our stays. Kitchen equipment is unorganized and sparse and important items seem to be missing. Board games, which used to be a terrific collection, are missing pieces and some of the board games we were really looking forward to from our first visit were no longer there! The fuse ball table and woodstove were both broken. This was upsetting because the fuse ball table is one of the things that made us come back! But the worst feature is the customer service. They called us to cancel our trip one hour before check-in! After much drama, we were able to secure our reservation but continued to have poor communication with customer service. We never spoke to anyone local, all reps were from out of state. We left many messages for the local property management office and had no response. After the stress Vacasa put us through, I would be very wary of working with them again on any property.

We absolutely loved the house, our ONLY complaint was the TV remotes didn't work correctly and we had trouble with the gas eat (stove type) but eventually figured them both out
