When we arrived for our stay they were able to accommodate an early check-in which was much appreciated! The gentleman who greeted us when we arrived was very friendly and helpful. He was also at breakfast the following morning and just had such a lovely & outgoing personality. I would also like to say that the hotel has charm and it was located perfectly for all of our interests. The hotel is nestled in the downtown shopping area and only several blocks from the beach and lighthouse. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay here from all the things to do to the comfy bed. We will be back!

Location & staff
The heat in the room was bad… couldn’t turn it down

They cater to their guests… happy hour, other events to get the guests together & mingle
Rooms were small

Loved everything about this hotel. Staff are so friendly and go out of their way for you. Location is convenient to everything.
Parking might be a challenge for someone who are staying by themselves and wouldn't be able to get dropped off at the front door if you have health issues.
4.3
Loved the historic aspect. Great staff.
Need to be able to reach night staff better

This is our second time staying here. Everything is fabulous!
I wish the happy hour was not just on the weekends.
4.3
Great location, great staff and comfortable quaint room. They set up an amazing happy hour daily and the breakfast is very nice.
It is an old, historic building and does not have central air conditioning. They have to use window units. This is not something the hotel can solve, but some might want to be aware of the window units which are noisy.
4.3
location, historical, good breakfast and nice staff
the bathroom needed better lighting and the water for shower/bath was not very hot

Sam, Megan, atodd and Ruby were all delightful. We felt like family. Breakfast was delicious! Loved the options! Happy hour was a fun treat and we enjoyed eating our meals on the lovely veranda!
4.3
historic hotel with atmosphere at central location
the rooms are small, but it’s okay for a historical place

The outdoor patio was a great place to sit and enjoy wine with friends

Loved the casual vibe of the lobby and the happy hour crowd. Loved the historic, non-cookie cutter building and room.
There are limitations with an old building but we felt the room lacked surfaces. Luggage rack or maybe a bigger table . Barring that, maybe a second chair . Door lock was a bit difficult.

I loved the hospitality- the owner and the hotel manager we outstanding!
unfortunately out of the control of the hotel, I had a bad night of sleep bc the room next door had a horrific snorer and everything I did to cover the sound did not help to reduce or eliminate the sound 😜! Otherwise it was in a perfect location and I loved the room🥰

The hosts were super sweet and helpful. They had happy hour with snacks, which was a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed the location, right near Lake Michigan, with easy walking distance to all the cute shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Love the historical charm of the hotel, it’s beautiful. But even better than the historic charm, was the staff!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, they were fabulous!!!
I have no complaints.

The staff was wonderful! He took really good care of us. The TV wouldn't work but we' were compensated with a bottle of wine. We were also given Complimentary $50 food cards to many of the restaurants downtown. We will definitely stay there again!
Not able to watch TV but I'm pretty sure it was only the room we stayed in and I'm also it's been taken care of already

Very quaint and homey
Room just got very warm and we had to open the window to cool down. Tried the ceiling fan first to see if that would be enough, unfortunately it was not. Outside temp was very cold.

Staff, location, tea and coffee service, evening cocktail hour, quaintness
Noisy outside our window. Late night music, street noise, and people talking.

It was a beautiful set up, and we loved our room!
It was out of season and the price seems steep. I know that South Haven was still kind of busy, but the cost was almost a thousand for two nights. It would be nice if there was designated parking, especially on Saturday the public parking filled up very quickly. Luckily we didn’t have to deal with cold weather or rain on our walk to the hotel.

The location was perfect. The building was very charming. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The radiator / boiler heating system was not working properly. The staff tried to help by relocating our room but to no avail. The temperature was literally 56° in the morning. They provided space heaters and extra blankets which helped. The portable room air conditioning units were still in the windows and this made it very drafty. We ended up stuffing towels all around the units. There were very few electrical outlets for plugging in your phone / electronics and we noticed a room refrigerator with a ground fault plug being powered by an ungrounded extension cord. Our booking.com reservation indicated we would receive breakfast but there was none provided the first day. After we complained we were provided instant oatmeal, bananas, or a breakfast bar and management deducted $50 from our bill. Our price was $247 per night which we felt was pretty high considering all the inconvenience.

The staff was phenomenal and extremely caring. They wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed.
That we had to go home.

We loved how close the property is to everything in South Haven! Shopping, restaurants, the beach…all so close! The hotel has a cute historic charm!
There was a terrible fruit fly infestation! They have a keg in the lobby for customers (which was nice) but totally infested with fruit flys. In our room we didn’t notice many when we checked in, but after returning to our room that evening they were all over the bathroom! When we woke up we were swatting them in bed, and they were still all over the bathroom. I picked a couple out of my wet hair after I showered. We thought spending around $350 a night was not a great value for this issue. Upon checking out we notified the manager at the desk and she said they are aware of the problem. When we told her how bad the fruit flys were she offered to reimburse half of our stay. She must have later decided against it as we were only credited $49.
