This home is exactly what we were hoping for when we booked our vacation. Phil was a responsive host and answered questions promptly. We were greeted with flowers and a bottle of wine. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There were plenty of linens and beach towels. The pool was clean and beautiful. We had quiet neighbors. But the highlight is the proximity to the water’s edge, the seashells, and the sunsets. The photos accurately depict the inside and outside of the house. The stairs might be a problem for some guests. The loft bedroom could present a privacy issue for multiple couples. All things considered, this was our idea of a perfect beach vacation and we hope to stay here again.

House was as described with lots of stars; could sleep 8 though 4 of the beds were in lofts with little privacy. In spite of Cockroach in shower and dead rat on back porch, had a nice time with great access to beach.

This place is perfect for a close walk to the beach. The house had everything we needed and more. The area was perfect for our family.

We had a great time. I would rate the house a 5 star, but the pool was dirty. The pool guy came but did not take out the needles, so we cleaned them out. The owner was very helpful. The bedrooms had an open concept that lacked privacy, but we liked talking to each other so easily.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location on the beach. The house was great for our family getaway. It’s unique layout wasn’t an issue for us with young kids. The pool needs some updates, but other than that, we had a great experience!

My husband and I, our adult daughters, and our two pets spent a week at this beach house. The townhome was clean, spacious and well stocked with bath and beach towels. The pool table was a great bonus! But the best amenity is the beautiful beachfront location!

We absolutely loved this home. We have stayed at many homes and condos on the beach but this one was the best by far! private pool and a step or two from the beach. It needs some updating but most of the time was spent outside anyway.

Everything was just as the listing ! Would definitely stay here again ! The views of the beach were absolutely amazing ! we loved that we could walk to the beach in less then 20 steps !

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was a lovely house right on the beach. We loved to watch the beautiful sunset each night. The house was neat, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The bottle of wine and flowers left by the owner was greatly appreciated. The owner was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Overall we had a wonderful week at the beach.

We had a great week staying at the property. Everything was as Phil noted, and we had no issues the entire week. The AC kept it cool in the heat of the day, and at night on all levels of the house. It was nice to have a washer and dryer available as well. He had a great stock of beach towels, chairs, and other items for the beach. I would recommend bringing some umbrellas, the sun was intense! Plenty of shells to find along the beach also! We had a couple days of very calm water, where you could go out in the water to the sandbar, and search for shells also. We spotted dolphins a couple days as well. Caddy’s was a short walk to grab some food, and the grocery is less than a mile away, when we decided to cook. The traffic in the area was very reasonable, much less than what I was expecting during a peak week of the season. We visited Sea Dog Brewing, Caddy’s, Shells, and got carry out from Michael and Vito’s Pizzeria, and Sea Hag’s. We walked the beach every day, listened to the ocean, and generally did a lot of relaxing at the condo. We had a great time!

It was hard to leave that view behind. The house perfectly located on Sunset beach. The beach was not crowded and had amazing weather the whole time. You can walk the beach see all the beautiful shells or walk to caddy's for snack and beverage. The house was clean upon arrival and check in was a breeze, the owner made it super simple. The pool and pool table was a high light for the kids, they used them both for hours on end. The house is dated some compared to other properties we have stayed at in the area but was a none issue. The only thing was awkward about the property is the layout of the bedrooms. We were able to view the house that is the rental next door and the space was better utilized. I would recommend this place to any family who wants the convenience of being right on the beach in a safe neighborhood.

Bedrooms were not what was expected. Two bedrooms you had to go down stairs to use the bathroom. Main level was great but the bedroom level was quite unique

Excellent location with the beach just steps away! Kitchen was adequately stocked with necessary items for cooking meals. We had 8 folks in the residence and the only downside was the sleeping arrangements with lack of privacy for adult guests due to the loft arrangements.

The name Sunset Beach speaks for itself. This property has incredible views from multiple locations in and out of the house, including spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. The house is steps from the beach and has all the amenities needed to make a great beach vacation. We were fortunate enough to have daily dolphin sightings and bird watching. Thanks, Phil, for opening your lovely beach house to us.

Our stay at this beautiful beach front home was not your usual beach stay. I had TMJ surgery in St. Petersburg - turns out the surgeon is the only one in the country who does what he does, and he is amazing! The surgery, pre-op and post-op required a two week stay, and my husband and I were so fortunate stay stay at this lovely home. To say its on the beach - it is right on the beach. I am not sure you can get closer. But, it was the most perfect place to rest, start my recovery and heal. And, my husband was able to work remotely! It was so nice to take walks on the beach and to sit out and take in the wonderful beach air. Our host, Phil, could not have been more accommodating! I was nervous since TS Nicole was headed directly our way the night before and hit the day of my surgery. But, Phil put me at ease, and he was right. There were absolutely no issues!! Thank you Phil. We hope to return again for a real beach vacation!

This house has the most stunning beach view! Sunsets are picture perfect. It’s just a few steps from the beach and has a nice shaded pool for hot afternoons. The house is clearly described as the bedrooms are upstairs and one is a spiral staircase. It was very clean and the beds were great. Kitchen is organized and fully equipped. There are two grills, gas and charcoal! The pool table was good for evening entertainment. The owner was very good at communication. Caddy’s and Ka Tiki are just a 1/2 mile beach walk and great for drinks, food, music! I would stay here again. It was great for our family of 6.

The property was clean, well furnished, and perfectly located with a beach & pool. Loved the view of the water and sunsets. The owner was very responsive to our questions about baby gear, and we were welcomed with flowers and a bottle of wine.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the property with another friend and really enjoyed the rustic beach house vibe. The neighborhood and beach (Sunset Beach) is one of the coolest around St. Pete area in our opinion. The beach is not very crowded and just within walking distance to great bars/restaurants with live music. We would definitely book again, and hope to in the future. Phil is a great host and communication with him was fantastic.

We had the most LOVELY time in this house! We cannot say enough good things. The location was absolutely amazing, I have never stayed in a front row beach home with better views/access to the water. The property owner is amazing to work with. Five stars all around!

We had a great stay and it was exactly what we wanted. Enough room for the family and a very short walk to the beach! Being able to bring a pet was fantastic.

Good communication from owner. Great location. Short walk from caddy’s. We enjoyed the pool table. Only negative was the Pool had a small leak which required us to fill with hose each morning. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The location of this house is perfect - both in terms of the area and the amazing beach front access. The neighborhood is quiet, the beach is not crowded, and we were an easy beach walk away from Caddys which was fun for lunch and some late afternoon drinks. The house is also within an easy drive to Johns Pass, Pass-a-Grill and other area locations. The house was also very well stocked, not just in terms of dishes and general supplies, but beach chairs and toys. It was lovely to not have to buy or rent a beach umbrella and chairs for the week. Phil has plenty available and we were thankful for that! The reason for the lower rating is because of the house layout and the pool. There is honestly NO PRIVACY in any of the bedrooms/sleeping areas. I think I may have read a review indicating that but didn't believe it until we actually say it for ourselves. For a single family, this may be OK. But for two families, it was awkward. The master bedroom (with the king bed) is at the top of the very narrow spiral stairwell which I think would be very hard for older people or young kids. Even a single family deserves a little privacy and there is none to be found. It is honestly a very strange layout and a sad waste of space when you consider how great it could be. The second problem was the pool. It was filthy for the our entire week and the maintenance crew didn't show up until the day before we were leaving. In truth, you don't really need a pool at this location (the gulf water was warm and amazing), but if you book a place expecting a pool, you'd be disappointed for sure. We did email Phil about the pool during our stay and he was responsive, but it didn't change our ability to use it. In the end, Phil did make an offer to help remediate the situation which was appreciated, but I would not book this place just because it has a pool.
