Ceci est une grande propriété pour observer les baleines passer ou pour lancer votre propre kayak privé. Cette propriété est absolument parfait. Avec sa plage privée, spacieuse cour et la salle multimédia herbeuse vous ne serez pas à court d'activités ici. La cuisine gastronomique est entièrement équipée et jouxte la salle à manger pour que vos invités puissent vous rejoindre tout en préparant un délicieux repas.
La chambre principale englobe l'ensemble du 3ème étage et possède son propre coin salon avec cheminée électrique. La salle de bains principale est ouverte sur la chambre de sorte que vous pouvez encore profiter de la vue imprenable. Les deux autres chambres sont situées à l'étage principal de chaque côté de l'entrée couloir et partagent un bain également situé dans ce couloir. Une des chambres a également un lit de repos confortable.
Vers le côté de l'eau de la maison est une autre zone de détente avec des sièges très confortables et une vue imprenable sur le détroit de Haro et l'île de Vancouver. Au rez-de-chaussée, vous trouverez une cave à vin en cèdre (Bring Your Own Wine) avec une table de dégustation branchée pouvant accueillir deux personnes.
La salle des médias dispose d'une grande télévision à écran plat pour la télévision par satellite ou de regarder un des nombreux Blueray DVD qui sont fournis. House is perfectly situated on a quiet, beautiful road overlooking the water! House is clean, spacious, bright, and was perfect for our trip! Convenient, central location on the island makes everything a short and easy drive! Booking, check-in, and check-out were all simple, with quick and clear communication start to finish. The whole experience was even better than expected!

This house made our vacation so unforgettable. The pictures don't show how amazing or perfect the views are. From the moment you hit the harbor and drive the winding roads to the home, it is like stepping into paradise. When you pull into the property, the view is stunning. The house is clean and very comfortable. We had one rainy and cold day and were so content to stay at the house and have a cozy day inside. It has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The hot tub was super clean and just the right temp. If we ever have the chance to return to San Juan, we would have to stay here or it just wouldn't compare. Do yourself a favor and book this house!!! As a side note, the property management team was spectacular. So friendly and easy to work with. They even helped us with restaurants and suggestions of things to do on the island. Seriously, it was the perfect vacation!

We rented this house along with a 3 other couples for Memorial Day. We booked it for the view, the hot tub, and space to play outdoors and it did not disappoint. The sleeping arrangements were plenty suitable for a group of our size and there were ample spots for afternoon naps. The property was in good condition and quite clean when we arrived. There were plenty of options for running laundry and well-stocked cleaning supplies. We would highly recommend this property and management company. This property is really close to Roche Harbor and the drive between is littered with farm stands, bucolic pastures, and an alpaca farm! We ate lunch at Lime Kiln Cafe and highly recommend the donuts. We are already dreaming about our return!

When you pay a lot of money every night for a vacation rental, you expect there to be decent light blocking in the bedrooms. Otherwise, as soon as the sun rises you're waking up probably earlier than you want to be. Unfortunately this place, the master bedroom had windows without coverings. And even the windows that did have coverings, the coverings were extremely translucent and ineffective at what you expect them to do, block light from coming in. The other bedroom suffered from the same problem, the blinds are useless when they are letting light in. I notify the property but they pretty much just ignored me.
Also, whatever remodel happened to this place was a complete train wreck! You can't even sit down on the toilet in the master bathroom without banging your head on the cupboard behind you

So we stayed here at the end of Sept. for 5 nights. We caught perfect weather and beautiful sunsets. The location on Smugglers Cove is outstanding! All of us kept our eyes on the water continously to spot Orcas, which we did see.Now to the house. The property needs a refresh. The carpets are bunched up in places. Some of the furniture is well worn and the house itself needs some maintenance like paint and some deck boards replaced. Also the electronics need some attention with missing components and a broken DVD player.But, I guess we were paying for location which this property has in spades!

First visit to SJI, purposefully to see orcas - as part of my parents 50th anniversary trip. We saw orcas every day for the 4 days, twice off the deck here!
Plenty of space for all to get comfortable. Kitchen worked well for us cooking most meals at home.
So quiet comfortable and clean. I would recommend a stay here. My only critique is we didn’t find the beds to be to our liking, we’re used to a softer mattress.

We were delighted with the accommodations and responsiveness of the management staff. Everything was ready when we arrived. Finally a rental home that provided a welcoming experience. This home was one of the highlights of our trip. From a long day out on the water it was an oasis waiting for our return. We would rent this home again in a heartbeat!!

This property is breathtaking and in a quiet location. Sitting on the deck, enjoying the view, and listening to nature was amazing. We saw whales breach on multiple occasions. This property is a gem and such a welcomed break from the city!

Absolutely loved our stay. I watched bald eagles every morning at sunrise, seals everyday at low tide, otters at play multiple times a day and even a pod of orcas once- all from the deck. Easy drive to restaurants and parks. The house has everything you need and was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We will be back

We are an active group of 5 who booked this house to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. It did not disappoint! Plenty of space for everyone and then some. The view was fantastic and we enjoyed having the private beach. The house location was a quick drive to Roche Harbor as well as Friday Harbor. We found it to be conveniently located. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at the house with another family and we had a blast. The house is enormous with beautiful grounds, perfect for the kids to run around in. We all enjoyed the private beach and ate all our meals looking at the views. Magical place. Would love to go back some day.

Absolutely beautiful! It was the perfect place for my family.
With the exception of the refrigerator not working properly, it froze everything, and the oil spill clean up barge! Not anyone’s fault except for the captain of the boat that sank in front of the house a week before our arrival.

Great location and view, lack luster home quality
The view is unbeatable and you get a private beach. Home looks tired. Mold/Mildew in bathroom showers, Carpet is bunched up and a few other things here and there. Feels slightly overpriced for the condition of the home.

NEEDS updating: New patio & dining room table, throws for sofa, patio chairs by fire pit and a different color paint inside...too yellow. Love the property and location and space but if the owner would do some updating, it could be so much better. Property Management company was awesome which usually never happens but loved these guys.

This home is fantastic and appropriately named as we saw a pod of orcas go by one afternoon! Such a fantastic place to enjoy the beauty of San Juan Island. There doesn't seem be a spot in the house without an amazing view. Super clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking. I can't recommend this rental highly enough. The owners keep this property in excellent condition.

Although we didn't see whales, we had fun watching the ships go by. We used the hot tub (with a view!) every night. Both Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor were just short drives away. We were there for the the big snowstorm and we couldn't have picked a better spot to just spend family time together.

Two of us spent seven days at Whale Watch Beach Retreat, and couldn't be happier with our choice. Being just two of us, we never really used the bottom level, but the main living level and the upstairs master suite level were great. The location is very private and quiet, yet still convenient for the things you'll want to do on the island. Our experience with San Juan Property Management was also excellent, from the initial reservation, through the pandemic-related cancellation and re-booking,to our actual stay. Would happily recommend this property to anyone looking to stay on San Juan Island.

We had a wonderful family vacation with whale sightings and an eagle that we enjoyed watching. The house was great and dinner on the deck with amazing sunsets was a great way to end our days.
The only negative I can say is the house needs a little updating.

Took our family to San Juan Island for the first time and was not disappointed! The house was clean and very comfortable. The view was inspirational! Had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back! If I might suggest, the outdoor cushions were torn and had seen better days, replacing those would help spruce up the outdoor vibe. Also, at this price point, having shampoo, conditioner and lotions for each bathroom would have been nice. Having stayed at many vacation rentals I’ve come to really appreciate the less I have to pack or purchase on arrival. Otherwise, we did not want to leave and can’t wait to go back!
