Great space and even better views!

We were delighted to find a folder with info in the kitchen readily available with pointers about staying at Casa Capote. We were so private and had a lovely experience. We found everything in order and what we needed was readily available. We enjoyed the outside patio each evening after exploring Marfa. If we come back that way we will choose this vacation home over all others. Thank you Robert,

We all had a fabulous stay here at Robert’s beautiful home. The home was much better than we could have expected even after seeing the pictures. Robert kept in close contact to make sure se had all we needed and the house was very well equipped. I have rented quite few places over the years but this was one of our favorites!

We loved everything about our short stay in Marfa! In fact, we wished we had one more day just to enjoy the house!

We had the terrific opportunity to stay at Robert Spiegel’s home. Let me tell you, the home will not disappoint! .The photos don’t do it justice. We were very pleasantly surprised how nicely decorated and well appointed everything was. Good quality comfortable furniture with TONS of space. The host (Robert) was very responsive and followed up promptly with any question we had. The home is loaded with amenities. Extremely well appointed kitchen. I can honestly say there was not one thing that could have been better. I don’t get the opportunity to say that often … Thank you, Robert! If we ever come back to Marfa, we know who to call! A beautiful property and location to take in a West Texas sunrise and sunset! The home is fully stocked and the beds are all very comfortable! This is a true measure from a family that rents a lot! The home is beautiful and allows you to enjoy the Marfa experience! Get out, walk around, talk to people and experience west Texas State and National Parks. Do everything or do nothing, this property will not disappoint! The owners are also quick to answer questions before our arrival and we had no issues while we stayed at the property. Cheers to a holiday well spent in peace and serenity! We will be back…. Even the teenagers agreed!

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at this house! It's more beautiful than the photos, it's wonderfully stocked with kitchen and bath supplies, and thoughtfully designed. The interior and exterior fireplaces were wonderful for chilly evenings and since it's on the edge of town (which is still within minutes of everything), we enjoyed the silence of the desert. Plus, Robert communicated extremely well and was very accommodating. Thank you, Robert! We'll be back!

My friends and I were here for a girls weekend and it could not have been more perfect. Great space, beautiful and comfortable furnishings and the outdoor area was the best place to end the day and start the day. We will definetly return.

Have stayed in many VRBO’s. This was one of the best. Best stocked kitchen of all of them. Robert was very responsive to questions. Location was not that hard to find. Hope to return someday.

I couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Robert, the owner and host, provided excellent information and communication from start to finish. The home is perched on a hilltop with beautiful 360 degree views, including surrounding fields, hills, mountains and even the iconic Marfa water tower. This spacious ranch has all the comforts of home and more - a sprawling living and dining room with vista windows; a renovated, fully stocked kitchen with all the housewares, appliances, tools, gadgets, spices, and condiments you could possibly need; funky bathrooms which blend original retro tile and updated conveniences; 3 comfortable and quiet bedrooms, a great outdoor entertainment space including a gas grill; strong WiFi…. I could go on and on. Over the years, I’ve stayed at many rental properties , as well as at the Paisano and St George Hotels, and this has been my favorite yet. I only hope it’ll be available the next time I visit. Thanks again, Robert!

This house is perfect for couples vacationing together. Central location in town in a neighborhood on top of a hill. Sunsets and sunrises are easily observed here. The house is very clean and has everything needed to unwind at the end of day with plenty of room to relax indoor and out. Very close to Alpine and Marfa lights can be observed between these 2 cities.

This was the get-away we needed after a year of being stuck at home - this was the ideal house for us as there was room to spread out, amazing views out of all windows, the natural light in the house is #housegoal (best way to put it!), and you're close enough to Porter's if you forgot to pack anything. We're foodies that cook a lot and typically bring a lot of kitchen stuff with us - but we didn't use any of the things we brought (knives, pots, pans). The kitchen exceeded our expectations. Beds were comfy, rooms and bathrooms well equipped. The only complaint we have is that we had to leave. About the house: it's up on a hill overlooking Marfa so you have a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains. This whole area is fantastic for star watching and the house did not disappoint with the comfortable patio. We sat out and watched the stars multiple nights; my husband said it was the most he had seen of the constellation Orion - ever. Lovely time and we hope to return again soon.

Everything was fantastic. It was spotless and well appointed. There was great WiFi for all. Great TVs. Fireplaces indoors and outdoors. Ample seating. There was such unexpected space. We all loved it. And the views are some of the best in Marfa. Sunset is spectacular from the front of the home and you can see the mountains turn purple at sunset from the back. The back yard is great for star gazing. But perhaps our favorite thing of all was the interesting and varied art. It had all the comforts of home. We will most definitely be back. Thank you.

Robert's house is just fantastic. Having rented a lot of houses in Marfa, a common thread is form over function, but not so with Robert's house. This is a well-designed 50s ranch style home with great interior design that is comfortable and livable. Fantastic back yard, great kitchen, and plenty of room to spread out. We will definitely rent Robert's house again.

This is a beautiful home with plenty of room for our group. We enjoyed the amazing view of the sunrise and drinks in the afternoon on the gravel outdoor patio area. We also enjoyed watching the football game in the spacious TV room. It was a great experience! Our only complaint would be one bedroom appeared to have dirty sheets on the bed. And the towels/bath rags could have used a good bleaching. I would just bring my own towels next time. Owner was responsive to all our questions. A lovely home. A lovely weekend. We all agreed we would stay here again!

What a great place to make our home base as we explored Marfa and the Fort Davis area. We spent most of our time in the home in the backyard by the great wood burning fireplace. The beds were comfy and the home is very nicely decorated, great patio furniture and the kitchen is very nicely anointed with everything needed to cook a meal for those times we couldn't find something open. Close car ride to Frama and Marfa Burrito as well as downtown Marfa. We had a fabulous stay.
