We had a lovely stay at the Lone Star Cabin in Twain Harte. We have been coming up to Twain Harte for 61 years and have stayed at many cabins during this time. With a growing family we now rent or own three cabins in the area. This cabin was great because of its location to the town (we could walk to eat or drink), its lake privileges to the private Twain Harte Lake, its large rooms, living room and back area. The kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was beautifully upgraded and worked well. It accommodated my 94 year old mom because there was hardly any stairs to climb to get into the cabin and it has two downstairs primary rooms with attached bathrooms. The upstairs was great for our young adult children, with plenty of places to sleep and their own kitchenette and TV. All in all one of my favorite cabins so far. Thank you for being such a great host, Jackie!

This has been "our place" since the owners put it on VRBO. We have not only stayed here in the summer, but Thanksgiving many years, and a few times in the early fall.

This house accommodates my large family and young grandkids (ages 4-2), perfectly. The bonus room and large TV accommodates all of us for some fun and games! The location is an easy walk to town and to the lake, and the kitchen and the really large table are great! We love this home.

We had such a good time at Lone Star Lodge! The cabin was very comfortable for our big group of 4 families. The upstairs media room was a perfect for all the kiddos to have a sleepover. The kitchen was well-stocked, table easily accommodated all of us, and location was very close to downtown! There was some snow the first day we got there and the side of the house had a little sled run for the kids, they had so much fun! Jackie was also very easy to communicate with throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place for all your gatherings.

Lone Star was a very nice cabin, we did have a full house. I think the outdoor area was out favorite place to hang out! Kids enjoyed the swings, and we made s’mores in the fire pit. Lots of seating for the whole family to enjoy our meals outside!😊. Another plus is the lake privileges!

The house was clean when we arrived. It accommodates quite a few people and since the most we ever had was 6 it was plenty big for us. Kitchen, dining area, and LR are all open. Big DR table, nice seating areas outdoors, a relaxing front porch, and a hot tub. Convenient to Pinecrest Lake and quite close to Twain Harte Lake. We enjoyed the amenities of the house and convenience to the lakes.

We spent a week here and it was so enjoyable! There were 10 of us- 4 kids ages 2, 7, 7, and 9 and they all had a blast! There were plenty of games and toys for the kiddos. We went when the weather was 102° so even though the house still stayed warm, the AC was a must and such a relief to have! We all had plenty of space and never felt on top of each other. The kitchen is well stocked. We did run out of paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags so I’d bring some if staying for a week- the local store was kind of limited and expensive. There were a few minor things that should definitely be fixed (broken stair rails, loose faucets, wobbly ceiling fan), but definitely won’t keep us from renting this home again next summer! Easily able to walk to downtown Twain Harte for dinner and mini golf which was a major plus! Short drive to the lake and we were able to get in every day despite not having our dates chosen in the lottery. Wish we were still there! Can’t wait for next summer!

Wonderful home shaded under beautiful California Redwoods and Cedars. Walking
distance to a quaint little town highlighted by Eproson Park and its surroundings, 9 hole
golf course, 18 hole Peewee golf course, skate park, bocce ball and playground with
grills to BBQ. Saturday nights offer up free music as well! Tennis and Pickle ball courts
to play. Having Twain Harte Lake access was great. Those children able to pass the swim
test got to swim to the rock and test their abilities then dive off the boards as a
reward! Caught tadpoles in our nets and screamed off the slides, ate at the Snack Shack,
then fished off the damn for trout in the evening. And if that's not enough for you, Pinecrest Lake boat rentals and outdoor movie theater,
Columbia gold panning, Calaveras Big Trees, Moaning Caverns and wine tasting in the towns of
Murphy and Arnold. After a long day, hot tub under the Dogwood trees and
movie night upstairs. Only wish I had rented earlier in June to see those Dogwoods bloom
and beat the summer Yosemite rush just 60 miles away.

We had a blast staying at this cabin. The property was well stocked, clean and spacious for our group of 9. Back yard offered space for hanging out and enjoying the fire pit. Side yard served as a good sled run when it snowed. The owners were very communicative and even arranged for a snow plow when we got an unexpected amount of snow. Location is less than two minutes from a grocery store. The cute town also offered a wide range of activities - Hiking, playground, mini golf, and just 30 minutes to Leland snow play. Lots of cute eating options if you’re not up for cooking. Can’t wait to go back in the summer to enjoy the lake and frisbee golf course!

We stayed in Twain Harte for a snow weekend at Dodge Ridge, and Jackie and Allen’s place was the perfect home away from home. It was fully stocked with pots, and pans, herbs, spices, extra towels, and sheets, extra blankets, an awesome living room and dining room that fit our entire party! Everything was clean and just as described. It was an easy walk to the village and 25 minutes to skiing. Wonderful, cozy stay. Thank you for opening your home!

We were so delighted to see the beautiful holiday decorations when we entered the Lone Star Lodge. The home was absolutely clean and ready for us to enjoy! And enjoy we did! We used the barbeque, the fire pit and the hot tub during our stay. Every little thing we needed was there! We look forward to visiting again in the summer!

We arrived and enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard. We didn’t have the chance to use the Jacuzzi (we all forgot our swimsuits lol). The jacuzzi looked relaxing! We had all the necessities to cook meals. Fully stocked kitchen. Although, I do recommend bringing extra paper towels and TP for your group. There was no snow this year at Xmas but we were able to make the short drive up the hill to Leland Snow Play and Long Barn Lodge for ice skating. Overall, we all had a great time and so did our dog. Thank you for having us! We will be back!!!

We stayed at the Lone Star for 5 days and enjoyed the beautiful cabin and accommodations. 11 people (2 grandparents, their 2 adult children and spouses and 5 grandchildren ages 5-18). The house is very spacious and the dining table seats the group comfortably. The kitchen has everything you need, we cooked every meal together in the house. Jackie was very sweet and sent me pictures of the instantpot and crockpot so I knew the size and didn't have to bring mine from home. The owners were very easy to contact and even had their spa person come out during our trip to reset the tub - which was in sleeper mode from a power outage during a storm before our visit. We drove up to Little Sweeden to go sledding (off hwy 108 before Cold Springs), the kids had a lovely time. We also purchased fire wood and kindling at the TH store for the fire pit at the house. We made smores and had a nice visit around the fire. Their Christmas tree was beautiful and a lovely touch for traveling around the holidays. This cabin has many great features and plenty of seating for your group. I highly recommend the Lone Star and hope to visit again soon. Thank you Jackie & Alan :-)

We stayed at the Lone Star Lodge for a family reunion and it was simply perfect. Extra blankets, ample serving ware, many options for meal preparation, spaces for sub-groups to break away and puzzles! We pulled in on a Thursday and never left the property all weekend. We had everything we needed. Staying there was an absolute joy.

Everything about our stay was perfect! The house was just as listed and a perfect cabin getaway for a winter retreat. We had 10 people and a dog who all slept comfortably. Hot tub and fire pit completed our fantastic experience. Jackie was our main point of contact and very responsive by text ; a storm came through, which she gave us warning on well before the start of our trip. The entire town briefly (2-3 hrs) lost power, but the cabin stayed warm, was well stocked with electric lanterns, and Jackie gave us frequent updates from PG&E (despite the day being her anniversary!). Jackie also went above and beyond as my partner (now fiancé) planned a surprise proposal and she offered many plans (and backup plans) of scenic spots in the area to propose. Needless to say, this was an excellent and memorable trip. Would absolutely rent again.

We love Lone Star Lodge. When we want to spend time in the Stanislaus Forest, it's our favorite home base. All the great recreational activities up Hwy 108 are easy to get to, but we don't have to rough it in a cabin or camp ground -- we can come back, shower up, and walk to a nice dinner in town. Also, Jackie is super helpful and responsive to questions!

We had two families sharing this very cute cabin. It had all the amenities that we needed and a nice big kitchen! We only needed to pack the stroller for the baby…everything else was provided. The space was great…lots of room for everyone with a nice flat backyard where the kids loved to play. Overall, a very good experience. We hope to come back next year.

Everything was great just which the beds were more comfortable. The master queen bed is a futon mattress. One of our couples didn’t stay the second night because the bed was so uncomfortable. Really all the mattresses need to be replaced. Everyone thought the place was really cool just a few things need to be repaired.

Lovely weekend in the woods
Lone Star lodge literally has it all. Large kitchen and communal areas, ample beds and bedding, a hot tub, fire pit, swings, games and more. Plenty of spices, dishes, and pots in the kitchen to fire up shared homemade meals made for a perfect Memorial Day getaway with two other families with kids. You will meet friendly neighborhood deer, and moles. Adults and kids were very happy. Jackie checked in via text to make sure everything was perfect. Will be booking this cabin for future trips.
