I had wonderful experience at this relaxing, peaceful and inspiring house.

Hi House is indeed an enchanted tree house with beautiful views from both the wraparound deck and the glass enclosed interior! The bed is extremely comfortable, the bathroom lovely, both with luxurious appointments. The house is well decorated with mid-century furniture and artful touches, using natural elements, abound. (Loved the delicate succulents planted in the imposing driftwood piece.). The tiny kitchen functions extremely well. The only suggestions we have is 1.-either fix the drip from the shower head or provide instructions on how to open the ball valve to ensure that the water comes on ( My handy husband promptly figured it out, but if I were by myself I don’t think I would have.) 2.-provide a little more bar soap for the shower. (The very tiny bit of soap was insufficient for 2 adults for a 3- night stay. We were fine as we just happened to have a bar of Dove soap with us.) However, both of these items are truly insignificant compared to the splendor that is Hi House and I’m sure that a call to our hosts would have resolved both issues. There are many things to do in this beautiful area, including just enjoying the peaceful setting. We would strongly encourage others to spend time in this magical place.

It was a perfect quick anniversary getaway. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the quiet beauty of Hi House and its setting on Pt. Reyes.

We had an amazing time at this place. The place is right-sized for two people and we loved the view of both the ocean and Tomales Bay.

From the moment you enter the property and drive up to the glass tree house, you realize you are in a very special and amazing place. To be completely surrounded by trees, looking out from every angle in the house is awe-inspiring. As others have suggested, the photos do not give it justice. The deck surrounding the home is a nice extension to the outdoors for even more relaxing. The home is nicely appointed with mid century modern furniture. Bathroom is very nice and plenty of personal care items. Kitchen is well stocked and cozy. Weather was amazing and we can’t wait to return.

Loved staying "in the trees" in this high, glass-windowed home.
Shopping is not nearby, so I wish there had been coffee.
I would have been happy to meet the hosts who live next door, and that might have felt more friendly, but that's not a requirement of VRBO and we had enough information to manage on our own.
The property was in excellent condition and very clean.

The house is a very cool 1960's era building. We enjoyed marveling at how it was built, including a nonfunctional elevator from the deck to the ground in front of the other house an old intercom system. Bedding, furniture, dishes all good. The house could use some maintenance - the shower turned off with a valve at the head as it leaked. There was a piece of deck rail missing. We were only given two bath towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths. Usually at rentals, there are at least a few extra towels, though I understand getting laundry into and out must be a pain with the stairs. The house does sit on the same property with another guest house and I presume the owner's house, which is not fully clear in the listing. My husband was sure no one could see us from where we were up high, but I was unconvinced. The house also sits right next to a dairy farm with a cattle guard. It didn't bother me at night, but you do hear a lot of driving over the cattle guard throughout the day and evening. View of the ocean is very peak-a-boo at best.

This is a very special property. The pictures don’t even do it justice. It really is an amazing unique place. The walls are all glass and the trees are all trimmed so that you can see through them to the ocean on one side and tamales bay on the other. The furniture is all fun mid century modern. There are no curtains or anything so if you are a sensitive sleeper like me, make sure to bring your sleep mask. Also, we were only given two bath towels, two wash cloths, one hand, towel, and one kitchen towel. This was really not enough for a three day stay. But we may do. The kitchen is very tiny, but it was adequate for preparing meals with a full stove and refrigerator. All the entertainment options are available. I really enjoyed the unique art objects. The bed was very cozy with lots of different weights of blankets. It was chilly and foggy most of the time we were there, but the heater worked really well. we had a great visit to tamales bay state park right next door. The trail was like a rain forest wonderland with lots of wonderful birds. The wraparound porch was really nice to be able to look at birds or just enjoy the view. Unfortunately,, we found a dead bird on the porch. Really hoping the owners will put some stickers on the windows so the birds know not to fly into the glass. This was a really fun place to stay, and to celebrate our anniversary!

The glass walls let in a beautiful view of the tree tops around making for a beautiful stay and view any time of day. Kitchen is well appointed with utensils. Bedding is very comfortable, and I appreciated the infrared light in the bathroom. Water pressure and duration of hot water could have been better.
What I wish I had know before going: Do not use google maps to find the place, use the written instructions. There are two locations with the same address and google will take you about an hour (round trip) past the house…
Be sure to bring your own coffee/condiments/and other food needs.
Overall a great stay!

Tree-top glass house is exactly as described: a glass house nestling among the trees in the Pt. Reyes area next to Tomales Bay State Park. The house consists of one large well-furnished space consisting of the bedroom, dining and living areas; a small kitchen area, and the bathroom. It is designed for two people. An outside balcony abuts the glass walls surrounding the open living area, and the surrounding vegetation and the height of the structure provide for more than adequate privacy. The furniture is well-designed, comfortable and plentiful for two people. One slight caveat is that access to the house is by an open stair spiral stair case which may be difficult for some people to climb and/or may provide difficulties in carrying heavy luggage. An elevator is attached to the house for those needing assistance, but I don't know how easy it is to use. We would be delighted to stay again when returning to the Pt. Reyes area.

Perfect place to make a home base for excursions in the Inverness/Point Reyes area. Amazing setting up in the trees, and beautiful views as far as you can see, changing as the light does throughout the day. Would stay there forever if I could.

Hi House is an extraordinary glass house located on a ridge with views, on a sunny day, through trees to Tomales Bay and the Pacific coast. We had one sunny day and one foggy, which was lovely, too, ghostly light settled into the Bishop Pines that circle the structure. The house is brilliantly designed, no doubt by an architect, with three complete walls of glass in a partial hexagon shape so that from every location inside the house there are spectacular views.
The furniture is appropriately mid-century modern, simple, with two super comfortable Eames lounge chairs in each glass corner. The kitchen and bath, though small, are perfectly functional. We weren't interested in cooking, but a short drive down the road to Sir Francis Drake takes you to the Saltwater Oyster Depot and several other dining options as well as a well-stocked general store.
The bed has a memory foam mattress, delightfully cushy, if a little soft. Our only complaint was the bedding. The sheets were strangely limp (bamboo?) with layers of blankets and a heavy bedspread. We would have preferred a simple down comforter, lighter and warmer. That said, the central heating is excellent and flexible, easy to use.
Hi House is a dramatic, one-of-a-kind, perfectly maintained and gorgeous property. Absolutely recommend.

The location and setting were perfect for us. Close enough to Pt. Reyes Station and beaches but plenty of privacy and open spaces.

We've known about Hi House for years and have wanted to see what staying there is like. Answer: It's amazing. The interior is nicely decorated and the heater works well (we stayed during a cold/wet spell), but the experience of being in the trees, with fabulous views everywhere, is unlike anything we've ever had before. There was a field of daffodils below the house! The power went out and Jeff kindly drove up to inform us about the extent of the outage and make sure we were okay (we were fine, and the power resumed about an hour later). (Note that when the power goes out so does the water pump, so there's no water.) We didn't have any cell phone service, but we could text, and the internet worked fine. We absolutely plan to return and strongly recommend Hi House.

Glass surrounds the house. There are views of the bay on one side and Point Reyes on the other. We saw deer, squirrels, and hawks right on the property. It’s quiet, relaxing and comfortable.

We loved our stay at Hi House! Beautiful location to watch the weather. Glass walls! Cozy bed and lounge chairs for reading while we waited for the rain to come. But it never did! It was also a perfect access point for many hikes in the national seashore. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

It was a beautiful setting amongst the woods. Like staying in an elegant treehouse with water views in two directions. It had everything we needed. The wild was a bonus.

We’ve been coming to Hi House for years. Perfect getaway for couples or a person who wants to slow down and relax. Perfect location in the park to quickly access amazing homes and beaches. Or, if you prefer, just stay in bed, hang out on the deck or use a lounge chair to watch the trees, sky and birds through the floor to ceiling glass walls. Very private since you’re up above the ground. We’ve already booked our next stay.

Unique and wonderful. Poor to no cell service there so print out the info before you get there. The Tomales Point Trail through an elk reserve and to crashing Pacific waves was fabulous.

Lovely second stay at the Hi House! We had a great time hiking and kayaking. The house has views over the bay and the ocean, it’s incredible to wake up to the sunrise and have dinner by sunset. Kitchen is small but has everything needed (no spices, oil, foil etc so bring those). We watched deer and hawks from the deck, and Tuke elk at our hikes.
