This is a gem! Jackie was amazing and super helpful. Her communication was awesome and very personable. She was also able to give local recommendations and great hospitality. Having a freezer at the location helped tremendously get the fish ready for travel. Jackie goes out of her way to help in anyway possible.

Very good location: quiet and out of the way yet minutes from town. Host is extremely easy to communicate with. Check in and out process was very smooth. Accommodations are great with a very nice kitchenand comfy beds. Would definitely stay here again!

Jackie and Jayson could not be more gracious or hospitable hosts! They helped arrange fish processing, offered a cooler, discussed the local eateries/breweries, etc. They are terrific individuals, and I'm confident they will do everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable. As for the accommodations, exactly what 4 grown men on a fishing trip were seeking. Clean, cozy, off the beaten path but less than 5 minutes to town, freezer for fish, fully-stocked kitchen, shower/tub combo, etc. You won't be disappointed!!

Jackie and Jayson went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a wonderful experience. We were contacted prior to our arrival to see if there was anything we needed in particular that they could provide for us, which was extremely thoughtful. The property was very clean and well laid out and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Jackie and Jayson made the stay so nice with their hospitality and were very welcoming. This was the perfect place to stay for our family. Everything was so clean and very comfortable . We had looked at several places in the Kenai Soldotna area and I’m glad we found this one. Owners had very good communication with us though our stay and even had fresh bread sitting on the table for us.

I use VRBO a lot, all over the country. I travel for work more than I care to admit. This trip was a vacation and the last thing I wanted was a headache and Jackie came through with flying colors. Her friendly and helpful communication was perfect, her hospitality (even stocking a few treats in the room according to our preferences) was unrivaled in my experience. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, there was virtually no noise (which is nice when you're waking up at 3am to catch the tide for some salmon fishing and you come back at 2pm and you need a nap!). We even utilized Jackie's son Anderson for all of our fish processing needs. We brought him 18 silver salmon and 8 Halibut and he did an awesome job for a fair price. The only complaint I heard from our group was regarding shower pressure. I am not that picky so I didn't really care, but one of the guys in our group would have preferred a stronger shower. Aside from that, I would absolutely recommend Jackie as a host and we will definitely be back!

This basement studio was lovely and immaculate. The furnishings and appliances were excellent quality. Our hostess could not have been more helpful. We loved our stay and would return here.

Jackie & Jayson were wonderful hosts who provided us a clean comfy home base while we traveled the Kenai peninsula for 2 weeks. They went out of their way to make sure we had all we needed and were always available for questions regarding their beautiful part of Alaska. The location was perfect, we couldnt have picked a better spot! So peaceful and quiet! We walked into the apartment and were immediately impressed. It was extremely clean, and gorgeous! There were dishes in the cupboard, food in the fridge and pantry, books and movies on the shelves...it was like a home away from home. If you need a place to stay in soldotna, stay here, you will love I! I've never been to a nicer, or more comfortable, hotel! Thanks for everything Jackie!

It was such a beautiful place to stay and relax.

Exceptional hospitality from Jackie and Jayson along with this super private and comfortable condo in the woods. We had excellent beds and a well equipped kitchen w a really quality gas stove which was fun since we cooked on our trip. J and J provided some really helpful tips on fun places to visit and hike and also on local restaurants. Highly recommend the Russian River hike as we saw the salmon jumping up the falls. Saw lots of great art and fishing! Really a great home away and we will stay there again when we get back to Soldotna.

Jackie, Jason, and Anderson Are top notch hosts how can offer a wealth of knowledge to your stay. They all went above and beyond for our party and really made our stay memerable. Great location and amenities. Can't go wrong staying here. Plus Anderson is the man when it comes to fish processing and freezing. 5 stars all the way

The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the stove, oven, grill, washer and dryer. Jackie even had laundry soap and dryer sheets. They gave us advise on fishing locations, restaurants and even numbers to call to get fish counts. We caught fish and her son packaged it for us for a nominal fee. His name was Anderson and he did a better job packaging it than professionals. The property is a bit off the beaten track and was quiet as a result. It is just a few minutes from Town. I would highly recommend staying in the apartment. Thanks Jackie. I hope we get a chance to stay again!

We stayed here for 2 nights in early June and loved every minute of it. Jackie and Jayson were on vacation during our stay so we didn't get to meet them, but communication was great - we had everything we needed and more. The apartment is sparkling clean and super comfortable. We enjoyed grilling the salmon they left for us in the freezer. This is the place to stay if you are going to be in the Soldotna area. I love to photograph wildlife and when we left, there was a moose in the yard posing for me. What a perfect ending to our stay.

We stayed at Jackie’s place for the weekend while visiting Soldotna for my wife’s birthday. The place was immaculate and just the perfect spot to get away from the noisy city. The bed was very comfortable, the place was quiet and it has everything we needed. Jackie was an incredible host. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway weekend!! Private, and cozy! Property was exactly as depicted by Jackie, all the amenities of home in a secluded, safe, and beautifully scenic property minutes from Soldotna. Communication with Jackie was flawless, from the drive south from Anchorage to the parking area of our studio and all the details in between, we were well informed and amply prepared with Jackie's vast knowledge and support. If visiting Soldotna, you simply can not go wrong with booking your stay here. Our only disappointment was not having more time in Soldotna to experience all is has to offer. We enjoyed our stay so much with Jackie we are counting down the days to our next visit in March 2018.

The Bear Paw Studio is very comfortable, well appointed, and in a quiet but convenient location just outside of town. Jackie and Jayson could not be better hosts, very friendly and very helpful!

This might look like a FAKE review...But it is REAL as I have photos to prove it, Haha! :) I am overall a picky perfectionist, terrible light sleeper and hotel-front-desk-worst-nightmare. I researched and planned months ahead for our trips but I always feel very uneasy and scared with any place I booked, it feels like gambling... Well, Jackie and Jayson really blew us away with their genuine, out-of-this-world kindness and generosity. Before the trip, Jackie answered my questions via email in no time at all and provided us with detailed direction to the house and sightseeing information. And when we arrived late at night, they gave us such a warm welcome that you would think we were their long-lost family! The studio was surrounded with trees and the inside bright,clean and spacious with a gourmet kitchen of top-notch appliances and all the professional-grade pots and pans. The pantry was well-stocked and even the refrigerator got good condiments for cooking. We felt right at home the first night and I had no problem relaxing and sleeping the whole 3 nights -which was pretty much a miracle itself! Jackie and Jayson even took time out of their busy weekend to bring us to the Kenai river and teach my son the right fishing technique. You cannot find a better place, a better host family on this planet or even this universe, I am telling you! What a fun time we had and we couldn't be happier or more grateful! We came to Alaska two years in a row as we like the scenery and friendliness of people so much. And now we consider this lovely place to be - if Jackie and Jayson don't mind me saying, our second home in Alaska! Thank you very much Jackie and Jayson! We miss you and we will definitely come back for a visit very soon!

We were in Soldotna for a three day swim meet and knew our boys would need to get lots of rest to perform well! This place was perfect. It is "off the beaten path" but so close to town. Jackie was very accommodating from our first inquiry and even allowed a very late check out when the meet ran much later than expected. We felt right at home and appreciated the great hospitality. We will come back if in the area again! Thanks Jackie!

The studio was easy to find and located in a secluded area just outside of Soldotna. We were close enough to town for supplies but was also able to enjoy the quietness of the woods. The studio was new, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Jackie was gracious and generous. We hope to stay here again and recommend it to others.

Our family of 4 stayed in the studio for three nights. We traveled back and forth to Homer for fishing. Jackie and family were extremely accommodating. Jackie checked in via text frequently and provided great insight as we traveled around the area. They packaged our fish and provided freezer space. We had everything we needed. I would for sure stay again. Highly recommend.

My family of four stayed in jackie's adorable studio one night. It is furnished very nicely (and recently) and has a full kitchen that made cooking easy. I love the bear rug on the wall! Jackie and her family could not have been nicer or more helpful. When another of our hotels fell through she bent over backward to help us. She even helped us filet and vacuum seal the salmon we caught. I plan to return the next time I come to Alaska. You won't be disappointed!
