This was our second time staying at this property as it is excellent, spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Ann is a gracious and commincative host and we will stay here again when visiting SW Ireland.

Wonderful 3 br cottage with a wonderful view of the ocean. Excellent if you want to get away from the city. Lots of sights to see including a castle, seashore, cliffs and just enjoy nature. Ann, our hpst was extremely friendly and helpful and keeps the place immaculate. If you want a big city, Galway is about an hour drive, Limerick, just a little longer trip. Ann stocked the fridge with some treats and even brought over some really fresh bread. Grrat place and i highly recommend it.

The house is centrally located to numerous towns as well as the cliffs of Moher. Bedrooms are comfortable, most amenities provided, super clean, and the VIEW. Wow. Ann is absolutely the sweetest person and goes above and beyond to make sure things go easy. Highly recommend if you’re looking to stay in the heart of Ireland where the people are lovely, food is delicious, and the countryside is stunning.

What can I say... this was by far our best trip to County Clare yet. My family and I have been to Clare many times, and this was by far the best location, and best setup Cottage we've used. Ann is great from a communication prospective, and everything in the cottage is well appointed. The presence of a natural peat fireplace was a real plus, as I enjoy the ambiance tremendously. For the Americans reading this there is a SEPERATE Washer and Dryer, which is a huge plus when coming from the States, and/or traveling with family. The utility costs are incredibly reasonable by EU/Irish Standards, just follow Ann's suggestions around setting the timer for the Heat to come on and off when you're actually going to be at the cottage. My biggest complaint is there wasn't a house near buy we can purchase for our own!! :) For those considering booking, do it, and ENJOY THE STAY.

This was our first home on our trip to Ireland and Ann was an incredibly warm host who went above and beyond including celebrating an engagement in our family! The home was clean, provided everything we needed, had beautiful views and truly felt like "home" for our 3 days. Thank you again, Ann and family, for such a special welcome to Ireland - we'll be back for sure!

The cottage is located outside of Doolin in the quiet countryside with spectacular sunset views of the Atlantic and Aran Islands. The cottage is clean and well maintained by the fabulous owner Ann, who was always available to answer any questions. Our 2 week stay at the cottage with family was a great home base to explore all of County Claire, Doolin, Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Fabulous stay.

We absolutely loved our stay and are already planning a return trip. The house is so wonderfully equipped with anything you may need and the town is just close enough for a bite to eat or a pint. Ann was so friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gentian Cottage. Felt like we were living in Ireland. Beautiful views of the sea, Aran Islands and Burren. Quiet street with cows nearby. Cottage well-furnished and had comfortable beds. Good kitchen.
Owner helpful and nice. Perfect location for exploring the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, and Aran Islands. Didn't want to leave! Would rent this great place again if in the area.

Such a wonderful place to stay for a trip to Doolin and The Cliffs of Moher and the Doolin Cave.
We were greeted with a fresh loaf of Irish bread, some eggs in the fridge and plenty of tea and coffee to get us started.
With 4 King beds and 4 bathrooms, everyone was perfectly comfortable with room to spread out. After a close-by pub evening, came back to a cozy fire, hot tea and some more togetherness.
Ann was an amazing host and is very communicative when needed.
An extremely delightful property, hostess and destination for a long weekend!

This was such an amazing experience to share with my three generation family! Ann was very responsive and met us to introduce the property details. On the last day she even met my kids with an Easter surprise. The house was roomy, cozy, and well stocked. I couldn't have asked for a better quiet vacation in the countryside. 5/5 recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Gentian Cottage! Ann was a most gracious host and helped us in so many ways. We were able to travel to other parts of Ireland and use the cottage as our hub as well as partake in the local charm of Doolin. Would absolutely recommend this wonderful home to everyone.

Ann was wonderful. Ann was actually the only host that met us at the property. We stayed at 3 other places In Ireland and non of the hosts met us. Ann had suggestions for things to do and places to eat. She was a real treat and the accommodations were wonderful. Thanks Ann

There are so many positives about this home it is tough to know where to start.
Roomy, comfortable, bright. Great view and location. Wonderful open hearth.
Dealing with the owners was a breeze. Take the castle tour! Declan is very knowledgeable. Walk to the hotel for a meal and have a pint at the small bar before.
You will not go wrong staying at this property!

We booked this house based on the reviews and the pictures. I must say that everything exceeded expectations, the house is beautiful and well laid out, well stocked and the views were stunning. We sat in the adirondack chairs every evening enjoying a beverage while watching the sun set over the ocean.
A quick drive to Doolin and great pubs, pitch and putt was a great take also.
Ann is a great host and very accomodating.

We were very happy with the home. It was clean and neat. I do think the couch and chair in den need updating but there were blankets we could put on top in order to sit on them. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. We were not there except to sleep but the view and proximity to cliffs were very good.

We three couples simply cannot extend highest enough laurels on Ann...
Her cottage is a GEM (with an incredible view out to the Arans), AND,
she is SUCH A CHARMING INDIVIDUAL. The personal tour of their ancestoral castle is an added bonus.
If you need THREE ENSUITE rooms, a fantastic view, 10 minutes into Doolin, and a wonderful Irish host, THIS IS THE PLACE.

Gentian cottage is in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the nearby beaches, listened to music in Doolin, travelled out to Cliffs of Moher in a boat. The house is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the views from every window are amazing. We also enjoyed walking the country roads around the house and touring Ballinalackan Castle with Ann.

We absolutely loved Gentian Cottage. Ann was wonderful; so friendly and helpful. She made us feel immediately at home. The house is beautiful and spacious. We loved waking up to the views of the open landscape and the water/ Aran islands. Only a short drive to Doolin, pubs, beaches and ferries. We would definitely stay again.

Our group of 7 spent a week at Gentian Cottage and loved it. The home is beautiful, well appointed, and was fully equipped to accommodate our 17 month old. Ann was extremely helpful in securing a baby stroller for us and answering our endless questions. The cottage is a short drive to Doolin and Lisdoonvarna. Views are incredible from every room. If you stay in the area and can complete a strenuous hike, I highly recommend the 5 mile cliff walk led by Pat Sweeney. It was the highlight of our trip and the absolute best views of the cliffs of Moher. We also really enjoyed our day trip to the Aran Islands. The food and live music in the local pubs is superb.
