excellent location

location location location! Room was over and above what we expected.

It is great place and fantastic view. You will fall sleep to the sound of the ocean. Kitchen, essentials, quite spacious room. There are 6 single rooms, so it is never too crowded. Loved ir!

I'd like to have the door to my room instead of a curtain 😉 but not to worry: you get a locker with a key for your valuables. Also, be aware, it is a very humid place, because of being close to the ocean.

- Being extremely close to the sea - and hearing the waves all the time, - The apartment was very spacious and well equipped (a lot of pots, olive oil, washing machine), - A super tasty (and huge) welcoming box with the wine and food, - A very nice owner that runs a small antique shop in a close by town, - Definitely a good base to explore the north of the island! There are also a couple of bars and restaurants within 10 mins walk.

- Car is rather needed in this location - so it’s good to have it! (not like in Funchal)

The location is great, next to the sea with great view, 2 minutes drive to Sao Vicente, 50 mins from the airport. The staff is very helpful, you pretty much have everything you need. Kitchen, sofa, board games etc. The wifi is great. The price is definitely competitive on the island.

Maybe I wasn't careful enough when making reservations, but the rooms are not exactly rooms as the walls are not attached to the ceiling and there are no doors, just curtains: It means that the rooms are not sound proof at all. Anyone from another room makes even a tiny bit of noise, you hear it. Additionally, it is also not light proof, as when I switch on the light in the living room, I got complains from the woman next door, as the light is too bright so she couldn't sleep. Anyway, as the price for single "room" is so low on booking, I should have expected this, that it is the price for a bed in a larger room rather than a a price of a single independent room, but I somehow overlooked it. This place also smells a bit due to high humidity. The old fan in my room was not working, the owner was really responsive by bringing me a new one, except that the new fan was fully covered with dirt and mud, I did not even want to touch it... I still think this is a great hostel, but I would advice to inform better.

Beautiful surrounding right by the ocean, huge apartment (bigger then the pictures show) well-thought-out details, helpful and nice owner, well-equipped, relaxing environment. It was also ideal with a baby.

I would recommend to have a car if you are staying here as it is a bit outside of the main attractions, however if you have one it is a great, calm base to discover the island.

Excellent location for those who wants to hear sound of the ocean. Clean and comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedroom, large area with sitting and working spaces. A lot of small details and artefacts makes the interior pleasant and informal. Private parking. Good connection to main road network with excellent access to all directions. Warm welcome by the owner, a nice picnic basket with fruit, vegetables and many more ready. Electric heater available (pleasant and usefull during February weather).

It was probably the best hostel I stayed in during my whole lifetime. Tiny as it is, it gives you both a sense of community (if wanted) and privacy. The rooms are single. The kitchen is huge and well equipped; there are usually some fruit and cereal for free, even if not advertised in the hostel description. The owners take care of the visitors and the property itself so nicely that I felt right at home. Last but not least, the sound of the ocean when you wake up and go to bed is just priceless.

There are not any things that I disliked specifically. What I found somewhat disturbing was the fact that you could hear each noise made by others because there were no doors (just cloth curtains) and empty spaces under the ceiling.

Amazing location! Absolutely beautiful! Its on the rocks near the ocean. The hostel is comfortable and clean. Close to Sao Vicente and some trails. Love it!

Amazing location on the coast of Sao Vicente. Everything you could need and more. Well equipped kitchen, homely communal areas, desks in rooms, and really friendly hosts who are there if you need them.

Amazing spot. So close to the seaside. Plenty of room for yourself. Room are separated with curtains no doors. 15 min walk to Sao Vicente. There you have a supermarket and restaurants and pubs. Spotless and lovely decorated place. Thanks!

Beautiful apartment with sound of ocean, really loved details in the apartment, as we were surfing a lot it was nice to enjoy Netflix after a long day... very chill like a true home. :)

The location is amazing, right by the ocean, you can hear the sound of the waves 24/7, even from your room. If you're a surfer, this place is a 5 min walk from one of the friendlier surf breaks in the island, and only 1min away from a surf center where you can rent gear. The scenery around the place is absolutely breathtaking, and the village of Sao Vicente has a supermarket and food places if you need. This place is a gem, I would 100% recommend coming here, I will be definitely coming back

- Wifi was very good - more than 100 mbps! - Kitchen well equipped. - Terrace, where you can practice yoga in the morning and enjoy evenings with company. - Private parking. - Owner is very nice and helpful :)

- Cleaning need to be improved. Once per week without vacuum cleaning and mopping the floors is not enough. - Sometimes smell bad when humidifiers are not empty regularly (for example when nobody is in the hostel for the whole day). Guests don’t know that they suppose to do this, when they are staying in the hostel to feel comfortable there. Stuff is sticky because of the high humidity.

If the dehumidifiers aren't on it can get a little damp, but that's the only thing. Everything else was great

Everything was impeccable. Spacious and very stylish unique apartments just on the beach. The most friendly hosts I have ever had.

. Liked the location on sea, big kitchen, common room. Nice big bathroom with hair dryer & even iron & board supplied. Large room w desk & lots of storage space. Decor is lovely

It's built into a hillside so no windows, which was fine. However wall didn't go up to ceiling so light & sounds next door came into your area. The doors were shower type curtains, not sure why, however they didn't keep out hall light. The bed frame was a flimsy metal so every time you sat or moved in squeaked a lot, that was the most annoying thing.

amazing view, welcome gifts - wine, tradicional sweets, beers, fruits, also very welcoming staff.

- we arrived at 10 p.m - 30 euro for late check in. there is so many options now to make self check in that for me seems ridiculous extra charging for key giving. - smell - smell is terrible. i know that apartment is super close to the ocean, but the smell is not just about humidity. in flat there is soooo many things, monuments, souvenirs, pillows, room screens, sculptures, books - everything is old and dusty and the smell is really terrible. -in the corner of the kitchen we found trap with few lizards, which was weird to see.

The place is very cozy and well equipped. Everything is new. We stayed there for one week and we were welcomed with different drinks, incl. a bottle of wine, water, beer as well as fruits, and local cake. The view from the apartment is excellent, directly at the Atlantic Ocean and mountains. The owner and his brother are very kind and helpful, available anytime. Private parking is available in front of the house.

Celio is a realy caring person and hes putting a lot of effort into this place despite he has already quite an age. The kitchen is very well equiped and the common area is very cosy and big enough to sit there together.

Could be a little more often vacuumed.

This is the best hostel i have ever been in. You have your own room, but also you can meet there great people. It is right next to ocean. Celio is a great host. I highly reccomend!
