It was so great! We really liked the isolated location directly at the beach, all the animals, the really good food they cooked for us, the huts which are designed with love and the complete atmosphere here
You should be aware that the road to the hotel is not in best condition - you need to take a boat, a jeep or motorcycles - for us no problem but it might be for other persons

Awatawaa is a paradise. The most tranquil place we have been too
There is NOTHING to not like. It is a fantastic place to relax and unwind. The food is very good. The place is clean, the cabins are well designed and maintained. The beds are very comfortable.

The views are stunning and the seclusion of the location is lovey. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
The roofs of the terraces and dining areas are in disrepair so when it rains, which it often does, you are relegated to your room. You can’t even be outside on the terrace during rain or you will get soaked. Inside the room there is no electricity and it is only lit by three small candles. It is so dark that you can’t even read a book or play cards, so there is literally nothing to do when it rains. The bathroom also floods when it rains leaving it very dirty and slippery, which is especially dangerous because there are no lights and it is very dark.
Additionally, and they do not tell you this in advance, there is only one option for breakfast, lunch and dinner, meaning there is no menu. Therefore, there is no pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan option. If you are thinking that you will have a good amount of fish and seafood because you are literally surrounded by water, you are wrong. For my mom they served beef and chicken often, we had to ask specifically for fish or seafood. For me the vegetarian options were very limited and it should be noted that the cost of the vegetarian meal (sometimes just salted vegetables and plain rice) is the same as a non-vegetarian meal.
There are four cabins on the property (and a larger house off to the side), but they are only using two of them at the moment and they happen to be the two that are right next to each other and whose terraces face each other. What this means is that you are right on top of each other. During my stay the first two nights a young couple were in the cabin next to us and and played their music loudly (which is super annoying when you are trying to enjoy the peacefulness of the nature) and spoke very loudly, waking us up both nights. On the last night a family of four where there and, to no fault of their own, their crying baby woke my mom and I up at four separate times in the night.

I really enjoyed the view, the kindness of stuff and town people, the sensation of peace, the awesome food...
To be honest I loved everything about Awatawaa. There are 2 points that I would like mention:
1. I took my mother to Awatawaa. She is a 72 years old and needs special help for ramping up/down the little stairs to get in/out to the huts because of a knee issue. I think would be marvelous something that make it easier to similar cases.
2. I think would be a good idea asking about food that we can not eat before arrive to the hotel.

All of it but food prices.
Food is good, but prices are too high. It is difficult to get to the location, but it does not justify such high prices.

Friendly staff, good food, remote location with your own private beach. Cabanas are really nice with your own private outdoor shower. Only a few cabanas so it’s always nice a quiet. Would highly recommend if you want to get away and relax for a few days.
A little out of the way to get there but well worth the extra effort. Could use a few extra signs along the road for the last few Km’s.
