Everything was great

The location

The place was dirty, mildew all over the deck floor, railings and furniture. Kitchen overhead light was full of dead bugs, cupboards were so dirty we didn’t want to touch them. The microwave was so old it would hardly pop a bag of popcorn. The lights were burned out inside and over the stove. There was a moldy shower curtain in the bathroom and what looked like black mold on the ceiling in two bathrooms.

The location in The Wilds Resort was nice. I just don't think the property owners are aware of the sub par cleanliness and overall need to deep clean inside and outside, to update bed pillows, maintain the premises because of mold and cockroach problems.

The Vacasa leasing agency is unprofessional and mostly nonresponsive to phone messages and text messages. We still have not heard back from the manager of this property. No map of the area, amenities, beach entrance or pool keys were provided when we picked the keys up. My family was from out of town/country, so this information should have been included, even where the grocery store was located in the town. I ended up calling The Wilds HOA Association to find location of our beach entrance. There was no additional information at the rental house. The online pictures of the rental are deceiving. Furniture is very worn. Outside house needed scrubbing down, handrails had mold embedded in them, cobwebs, hornets nest., window screen laying on back deck. Inside the carpets and LR rugs filthy, stained. We ended up keeping our shoes on. All light switch covers and doors, moldings had to be cleaned, mold in bathrooms, sink and tub grout moldy or missing, encrusted with who knows what. Floor grout in master bedroom bathroom dark with mold. Master bedroom bathroom window had mold along with a busted blind. Bed linens were questionable so we washed the bedding. The pillows upstairs were yellowed so we covered them with plastic trash bags before putting on the pillow cases. The two electric outlets in the downstairs bathrooms did not work for hairdryer. Light under microwave was burnt out, underside of microwave filthy and greasy to touch. Never been cleaned. Oven has hot spots. We opted to only use disposable plates, cups, utensils for our stay because of sanitation. We purchased food to grill only to discover the electric grill was encrusted with grime and food from many previous grills. Also there was no electric outlet on the patio to plug it in. That explains why the kitchen window screen was removed, probably to access an outlet inside. The screened in back patio had a nice table and chairs but was filthy with food and lobster shells. Refund in order.

The location is great--just a short walk to the beach. Great place for walks.

The property is older and has not been updated, but it was clean and comfortable.

Wonderful cottage style house. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. Everything clean and they provided plenty of towels. Only a short walk to beach and pool right across from house. Would definitely stay there again!

No counter space or drawers in kitchen.
