We all loved our stay. It suited our needs perfectly- adults and teens. A wonderful end of summer treat for everyone in the family. The host couldn’t have been more gracious about showing us around, accommodating our needs- making us feel at home and welcome.

We had such a great stay at Waterlily lane! Richard and Peter are great hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had access to all the amenities and water toys. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, huge deck and clean and comfortable home. Our family had a blast and we hope to return next summer! Highly recommend and thanks again Richard and Peter.

House was very pretty, homey. The lake is also beautiful and the yard is lush.

This is a well laid out house and very clean. The dock has all the varieties of boats you could wish for. Both hosts also live in the house (over garage and below the house) so you see them daily -they are very respectful to give you space. Unfortunately one of the beaches on the lake was closed due to water quality but there’s another beach at the other end of the lake that was open and fantastic fun is had when anchoring off the bubbler.
The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating!

Perfect family reunion
Richard and Peter's property was perfect for our family reunion. They even accommodated our family with an extra suite. We were celebrating graduations and birthdays. The floating barge indeed was a highlight of our trip. Our teenagers were delighted with the canoes and paddle boards. From their beautiful garden to their well equip kitchen - don't hesitate. Book this place for your next perfect getaway.

Lovely Lakefront property
Looks exactly as it does in the photos! Charming lakefront property, with barge to tour the lake! Hosts were often on site staying at their units and were happy to help in any way they could. Would definitely stay here again!

Great-ish
Hosts are fantastic, location and to do things unparcelled. My only complaint would be that I was under the impression I had rented a whole home when indeed there were two tenants in the same home broken up into suites. Overall we had a great time and the Barge was a blast. Thank you Richard and Peter.

We travelled to Water Lily for a family holiday wanting to explore the area and spend time outdoors. Water Lily fit the bill as it is in a lovely location, very convenient to amenities and situated on Glen Lake. Richard was very helpful and met us at check in to help make us feel at home. The biggest disappointment was the non functional hot tub, as our family was looking forward to evenings relaxing outdoors. Richard tried to get it fixed, but to no avail.
Beds were very comfortable and the house met all our needs. The house was clean with a lived in feel.
Water Lily would be lovely in the summer when you can take advantage of all the fun things on the property. But, we still had a great time even in snowy February.

Wonderful week at Waterlily
It has been a wonderful and a very relaxing week. We had women-only get-together as a group of 7 and spent each day enjoying the beautiful property, the land and the lake. The house is very cozy and clean with everything in it to make our stay comfortable. We had lunches on a huge deck that overlooks the lake, we used barge to float on a lake, used kayak. Bike trail nearby is really good, and we used bikes that are on a property to ride there. We also did other outdoor activities such as walking on a beach, hikes on a mountain, etc, all within 20-30 minutes from the house. The host was very attentive and helped us with lots of little things such as starting a fire in a firepit, getting a new pot for us, preparing the bikes, etc. We really recommend this property and would love to come back.

The property is in a great location and features a wonderful lake front where many water toys are available. The hosts were both incredibly friendly and helpful. Bedrooms were decent and comfortable. I'd say it's a bit less refined and organized compared to many other places I've stayed before. We also loved the fresh grapes and pears! Our only compliant was that the hot tub was not functional and we were not informed prior to our booking. This was a big deal for us and pretty disappointing as we probably would've booked somewhere else if we had known. This property would be best to book during sunny, hot days to fully enjoy the lake and all it offers.

We had a great one week stay at this property and really enjoyed it. The house and property is spacious and open. By far what we enjoyed the most was the barge/raft to cruise the lake. The kids enjoyed the kayak and paddleboards as well. Having the owners onsite was helpful and wasn't a bother at all, they're really friendly and helpful. We're hoping to come back again, possibly with another family next year.Just a note, if you expect a pristine and modern home/property, this might not be the ideal place for you. If you're looking for a place that you can truly relax and not worry too much about things being worn/used, then you'll love this property. It's clear Langford is booming and we can see why! Lots to do in the area and no crowds like the city. We walked to Langford Lake (only a 10min walk), rode the Galloping Goose, explored Sooke Potholes and walked to Goldstream Falls (highly recommended). If you're there on a Sat evening, we suggest checking out Westshore Speedway for some racing, pretty unique experience and the kids loved it! We also spent a day in Victoria with the kids, checked out the Bug Zoo (great), Beacon Hill Park and the diner, raided some candy/chocolate shops and hoped on a short harbour boat ride. Honestly, you could easily spend 2 weeks in the area and not run out of things to do. Hopefully we're back next year and can enjoy it again!

My family (me, my wife, two kids and one of our daughter's friends) stayed here for five days in August. We had a perfect time at this really wonderful lakeside property. Everything we needed was there - canoe, kayaks, paddleboards, and the awesome party barge. The Tiki bar at the lakeside was a great place to hang out at night, and the home itself was clean and infinitely comfortable. The owners both were super kind, friendly and informative, as well. It was quiet at night, too. Really, just an awesome place for a family vacation. We already booked it again for next year.

A lakefront oasis perfect for families!
An unbeatable location on Glen Lake! Early morning coffee and canoeing on the glass-like lake watching the sunrise was the perfect escape. We loved the old school hot tub and the house was large enough for our extended family. Wonderful owners!

Great spot for families
Our group of seven (kids ages 2, 5 and 7) had a fantastic vacation at this house! The water toys included were phenomenal and we used them every single day. My in-laws especially enjoyed Richard’s antique canoe. It was also great to have bikes to use. Richard and Peter were excellent, friendly hosts.
Some things to note that *may* bother some people: There is no air-conditioning. There are plenty of fans provided, but some of the windows don’t have screens so bugs do get in the house. There were also a ton of fruit flies in the kitchen when we arrived which we were never able to fully get rid of. Our stay was during a very warm week in August, so this would not be a problem all of the time. We have the same issues in our older Seattle home at times so it did not affect our enjoyment of our stay.

Absoulute gem.
We have been renting through VRBO for about 10 years and this is one of my favorite houses ever. This is a house that is loved by it's owners who truly seem to enjoy sharing it with others. This rental feels like a home and invites guest to relax and enjoy. Excellent value for money with all it offers including the lake to swim and play in, cool rope swing, barge (fun and easy to drive, the owner taught our 15 year old to drive it), fire pit with chopped wood available for use, games in the house and by the water, nice kitchen and super spacious house with cozy living areas. We loved the large deck over looking the lake. The grounds around the house are absolutely beautiful with magnolia trees, fruit trees, and huge variety of plants and garden areas. In fact there is so much to do right at the house that you could easily stay right there for a week and never leave. However, there is so much to do in Langford and the surrounding areas that our biggest problem was choosing what to do next from all the options (Sooke Potholes Park, Victoria, bike trails, tons of hiking trails, lots of coastal beaches are just a few examples). Langford is the kind of area you would feel comfortable raising your kids in. Restaurants, grocery stores, movie theater, shopping and more all less than 10 minutes away. Everyone we met was super friendly and welcoming. Especially the owner, Richard. Richard was wonderful to work with. He responded to email quickly and put up with all our questions. He is very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with great recommendations. He was very giving of his time and even played Friesbee Golf with us at a nearby course he helped design and build. You will not find a more wonderful owner. The listing description may sound to good to be true but it is very accurate and we highly recommend.

Wonderful Vacation Rental
This property was ideal for our family vacation. The owner Richard made sure that we had everything we could have ever needed and was close by if we needed assistance. The property itself has breathing taking views and access to all the lake toys you could need. The house was fully stocked and a very close drive into Victoria. We enjoyed every minute here. Serene, quiet, a little piece of heaven tucked away. Thank you for having us Richard 😁

A great place for families
We had a great stay at Water Lily Lane. Richard was fabulous with showing us (and the kids) around and pointing out all the fun things to do on the property. There was lots of space for the kids to sleep and play, and the lake and its toys were fantastic.

Christmas holidays at Waterlily
The house is in a good location in the outer suburbs of Victoria. It would be at its best in the summer months with excellent outdoor space and facilities and the opportunity to mess around in and on the water. We took the barge out one dry day and toured around the lake and also enjoyed the hot tub but unfortunately did not have enough fine weather to take advantage of everything on offer. Waterlily was a good base for our family Christmas get together and the open plan main living area meant no one was shut away in the kitchen missing out on the fun! The kitchen was well equipped which made catering for the five of us easy. Beds were comfortable and two of the rooms had ample storage although the third bedroom was too small for a wardrobe or chest of drawers. The main living area did not have central heating but plug in heaters were provided which did the job. The basement TV room had an efficient wood burning stove and upstairs there was built in heating. If I was being picky or had to come up with some negatives, the house was quite “blokey” and a bit cluttered. However, our host Richard was an absolute star and went all out to make our stay special. He put me in touch with the local butchers to order our turkey, decorated the house for Christmas, gave us loads of advice on skiing at Mount Washington, found us a hotel up there and even lent us some gloves and a ski jacket. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him and we really appreciated all his kindness.

Warm and Welcoming Hosts/Great Location
This is such a beautiful property. Well maintained and comfortable. The spa was so relaxing and the location on the water was so beautiful. But what really made the place so special, was the kindness of the owners, Peter & Richard. They helped us get settled and were a wealth of information. They were patient with my daughter who wanted to tell them her life’s story, and even found a Turkish flag to hang (one of us was from Turkey). They really thought of everything to make our stay memorable.

Peaceful winter paradise
What a lovely place. We had to go to Victoria for the holidays and we had a wonderful time. Quiet and peaceful place right on a lake! It was so nice to come home to after busy days of visiting elderly parents.
And the hot tub was wonderful.

Can't wait to return!!
What a wonderful weekend we had! The home was neat and tidy, airy and beautiful. Most of our time was spent on the deck, in the hot tub, and swimming and floating on the lake. The tiki bar down by the lake provided the perfect backdrop for our impromptu (kid friendly) dance party. And in the quiet evenings after the kiddos were asleep I had the opportunity to curl up on the sofa and read my book while the lake breeze gently blew through the open french doors. Yeah, not too shabby.
We were a small crew but the property provides plenty of space for more friends and family. Great space for a big BBQ and dinner as well.
Our hosts were friendly and helpful but gave us plenty of privacy and space. Peter offered perfect cafe suggestions and gave us a run down on some of the events that were going on while we were in town.
Let's just put it this way, its the kinda place that finds you planning your next visit there while you are packing your towel into your suitcase.
