Harbor Country Home with Guest Cottage, Private Pool, Short Walk to Beach!
Unique, la maison de charme dans la belle Pays Harbor (Sawyer), à seulement 80 miles de Chicago. Avec sa résidence principale de la maison et son invité, cette propriété peut accueillir jusqu'à 10 personnes. Situé à quelques pas des plages du lac Michigan; drive-in accès également disponibles sur la plage. Ce terrain boisé d'un acre offre beaucoup d'espace de la vie privée et a son propre étang, foyer et salle à manger extérieure. Belle piscine intégré avec terrasse en bois. Si vous avez des amis qui séjournaient dans la région, nous avons une grande table à manger en plein air près de la piscine qui peut accueillir jusqu'à 16 personnes! Les grands terrains sont parfaits pour se divertir avec de grands jeux comme le volley-ball ou le fer à cheval. Cuisine rénovée en 2017 avec de nouveaux appareils (gamme Blue Star, réfrigérateur Sub Zero, lave-vaisselle Bosch). Great property. Layout is conducive to family time. Property had toys and other baby/toddler/kid activities. Fire pit area is amazing. Pool was clean and fenced off. Really enjoyed our time.

This cottage with the extra house was a great getaway for our family to relax! Pool was amazing for the granddaughters to swim and relax in. We enjoyed the extra space to do a fire pit at night. Loved seeing the deer in the early morning hours. One thing I will say is that the mattresses on all the beds need to be updated and navigating the stairs to the basement for laundry was treacherous! Although, we were thankful for the chance to have laundry in the house.

We enjoyed our long weekend here. Everything was very clean. The pool temperature was great, warm enough to swim in 70 degree weather. We enjoyed the outdoor table and peaceful surroundings. Nice walk to the dunes state park which is a great place to go to the beach. Communication with the owner was excellent.

The property checks a lot of boxes for a family vacation. We were there with our daughter's family including four kids ages 5 and under. Grandma and Grandpa were happy to have our own place in the guest cottage. There was room for all of us at the dining table in the main house, and the private pool was a big attraction. There were also many little conveniences that made it nice - lots of plasticware for the kids, cookware for preparing meals, broom/dustpan for sweeping up the inevitable crumbs, etc. Be sure to look through the little white booklet from the owners that will answer lots of FAQs. There were several nearby options for entertaining the kids, from Warren Dunes beach/park to Captain Mike's bumper boats, a pick-your-own blueberry farm, etc. We walked the kids up the street to the playground in Bethany Beach neighborhood for a quick recess, and no one chased us out although we were told they are protective of their area. We also drove up to St. Joseph for the giant splash pad and great Silver Beach Pizza spot. While there are closer golf courses, we drove an hour north to Ravines, a nice Arnold Palmer course ($44 weekday senior rate), and Mommy and Daddy enjoyed renting a jeep on the dunes even further north. The property itself is a bit like being in the woods - a deer was dining on the plants behind the houses when we arrived. We had a campfire one night (be careful on the stone steps leading down) and the 5-yr-old chased the little tree frogs hopping around. The grounds could use a little pruning and a power washer could be put to good use here and there, but indoors was clean and comfortable. Good communication with the owners. We notified them of a loose screen and jamb on a porch door and they had it fixed before we left. All in all we would consider staying here again.

Wonderful Summer Family Getaway
Our family of 8 (kids in their upper 20’s) had a wonderful experience- the pool, the outdoor dining area, the fire pit were all highlights. The Sonos sounds system was very cool and we loved having music at the pool. Walking distance to the beach and nearby coffee shop- location was great. The house was well appointed for cooking which was important to us as we love to cook. Would definitely stay here again! Hosts were very responsive and great to deal with as well!

Quiet and Private
Family got together after not seeing each other for two years due to the Covid pandemic.
We were pleased with the accommodations. The furnishings were a combination of modern and antiques. Kitchen was well stocked. The pool was delightful temperature, clean and refreshing.
Not far from the beach. Quiet neighborhood. Only 90 minutes from Chicago. Wonderful vacation.

Michigan house near beach
My son, daughter-in-law & baby granddaughter stayed 5 days in this home. Home & grounds were lovely, private & spacious.
We enjoyed the convenience of a pool. We really enjoyed the close semi-private beach. The nearby town was small but had everything we needed- fresh produce, other groceries, a couple of nice restaurants & a few shops. We would happily return.

Wonderful beach getaway!
The house and cottage were a nice fit for our family. The house is more well stocked than other properties we've visited - dishes, pans, pool and beach gear, and a lot of books and toys for the kids in our party. The pool was the feature we booked for and we sure did get a lot of use out of it! We also loved the Sonos music that allowed us to play music in many areas including poolside. We did have one issue/question during our stay and the owner was easy to contact and helped us fix the issue quickly which I really appreciated. Thank you!

Short fall getaway
Had a good experience at this property. We went October 2020 as a break from being at home and to see some fall foliage and enjoy the area. House is in a great location, walkable to Warren Dunes--we walked there twice during our visit. House had everything we needed - big kitchen with everything you need to cook some nice meals, and plenty of spaces indoor and outdoors to gather. Would stay here again.

Great get-away :-)
Short drive to the beach, cozy yet roomy, loved the property, very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the heated pool, the fire pit, playing croquet out back, and a couple of deer sightings. Great WiFi. The grandparents enjoyed being able to stay at the guest cottage and still do social distance visits outside and in the screened in porch right off the kitchen and dining areas. We look forward to staying again.

Just perfect!
Where to begin!?!? We were a bit hesitant to rent a place this summer due to the world's current events, but we are SO glad that we did our research and found this amazing cottage. Everything was as listed and pictured! The pool was the highlight of the visit and my kids spent 4-5 hours a day in the pool! You can't beat Sawyer and the surrounding area - just wonderful. We will definitely be back next summer and highly recommend.

Fabulous place in peaceful Sawyer
My small family and I just spent a glorious week in a charming place with a swimming pool, a fire pit and a guest cottage. We had everything we needed and it was a lot of fun. I would highly recommend it.

We didn't want our stay to end
We were in love with our stay. I visited with my family, who was in town from Nebraska. We all agreed that the photos didn't do the property justice. It was like a wonderful oasis in the woods, surrounded by trees with lovely views and spaces to explore around every corner.
We stayed for five days, loving the pool, the outdoor table, the fire pit, the kitchen, the guest house--basically all of it. We're already talking about going back.

A great week in Michigan!
My family and I had a great week at this property. The house and guest cottage are both very nice, but the crown jewel of this place is the pool and surrounding outdoor area. The pool is large, heated and the table and trellis next to it looks like something from a wedding reception website. Beautiful! The property's location is also very convenient to a lot of breweries, restaurants and shopping. All in all, a wonderful time.

Very well appointed warm and cozy cottage
We went for Christmas as a family of four and were very comfortable there. They had all we needed, high chair, crib, and cups for the kiddos. I love how they’ve decorated the place as well.

Perfect Summer Vacation Spot
This cottage was the perfect spot for our vacation. Everything was beautiful and very family friendly. The pool was lovely and the outdoor dining area was like something out of a magazine. The kitchen was a highlight as well. We would definitely go back again!

Cottage in the Forest
We enjoyed our stay in the "cottage in the forest" (as our granddaughter called it -- sorry to see the neighbors cut down their trees). We had 8 adults and 2 children under 3. It is a quaint cottage with a guest house on a quiet dead-end lane in Sawyer. We loved the screened in porch in the mornings and the pool at anytime, since it was heated. It worked out perfect for our family.
We enjoyed the cooler weather since most of us came from Texas to visit our daughter and her family from Michigan. We enjoyed Warren Dunes State Park, Cherry Beach and even an afternoon at nearby Shuler Dairy Farm was a treat.
Owners were great and available quickly for any questions!

Exactly What We Were Looking For.
These were our first winter vacation outside our home - Christmas 2017.We chose Steve's cottage because he had a fireplace,fully equipped kitchen(we wanted to bake gingerbread cookies),and it was located in the woods.We were surprise that it even had a baking roller because we have forgotten ours,it had everything we needed.Very comfortable mattresses,and a fantastic large bathtub.Thank you Steve for quickly answering our questions and for a wonderful and magical and special white Christmas. We were surprised that so much snow has fallen and we had lots of fun.We climbed the biggest snow covered dune in Warren Dunes and our pictures on social media have a big applause.Hot coco outside in the chill tasted very delicious in this place .I recommend it every season.

Girls trip success at the Harbor Country Cottage!
7 of us stayed at the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. The place is exactly like the photos. The inside was very nice and made you feel like you were at home. Loved the kitchen! Very comfortable living space. Sonos sound system was awesome! The owner was very responsive to questions prior to our stay and during. The cottage was close to the wineries in the area and we also found some pretty good places to eat. The cottage was also close to the main road which was idea. Would definitely stay here again! We would like come back when it is warmer to really enjoy the outside of the property...pool etc. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing outdoor spaces and comfy cabin!
We were a group of 3 families (4 total children) who stayed at this property over an early September weekend. It was a great size for all 10 of us including the separate cabin. The interior spaces were as described and seen in the photos. Rooms were small and not very private but worked as we went to sleep and awoke at similar times. The outside is the true gem here with an incredible pool area. The heater let us enjoy it all weekend despite cool fall weather. The firepit area was also grear. The only thing missing, in my opinion, was a hot tub. It would be an ideal addition off the back porch heading toward the pool. Overall we'd be happy to return and highly recommend this property.
