WATERFRONT HOME RIGHT ON THE BEACH
L'autre chambre a 2 lits doubles. La maison a une salle de bain avec une grande douche carrelée personnalisée. Le système d'eau chaude est "à la demande" afin de ne jamais manquer d'eau chaude. La grande salle offre une table à manger avec des sièges pour 8.

We book an annual vacation with our adult children and their spouses every summer and I've wanted to stay in Grand Marais for years after a quick trip to Sable Falls and Dunes years ago. While somewhat isolated, the town offers great restaurants, great coffee (find Stella) and a virtual wonderland of outdoor activities. We searched for agates and Yooperlights, fished for trout, hiked the dunes, and watched nightly sunsets over Superior and moonrises over the harbor. The house is beautiful and comfortable with a private beach on the harbor that our grandson loved. Check-in was super easy and the owner was immediately available when the microwave died. She had a new one delivered within 2 days. The master bed was a bit soft for my liking, but that's a person thing. Others will love it. On demand hot water meant that 7 adults always had a hot shower when they wanted one. We can't wait to return- we're all going through withdrawal! By the way, check Fletchy's Resort across the street for mammoth cinnamon buns that melt in your mouth. Just writing this makes me miss it more.

Beautiful views, close to Lake Superior. Was able to watch the Northern Lights from the beach. . Perfect location for day tripping to Munising, Pictured Rocks, Two Hearted River, Tahquamenon Falls, Crisp Point Lighthouse, Sable Falls and Sable Point Lighthouse . We will be back. Walked downtown Grand Marais for dinner and breakfast.

This home was a perfectly cozy spot for the 6 of us and had amazing view of the water. We loved to see the colorful leaves across the water and to hear the crashing waves from the living room. It was a perfect spot to walk into town as well as to the point of Grand Marais. WIFI connection was not great, but worked enough. Overall, would recommend!

Grand Marais has always been one of my favorite areas to visit in the UP. It has been years since I have been there and very little has changed! The area is quiet, peaceful. The house was perfect!
Will rent again!

Didn't want to leave
I hadn't been to Grand Marais since I was a child and this experience made me want to return much sooner. The house was great, and the view of the bay was fantastic and so relaxing. The town was a 1-2 minute drive and we were able to do many sightseeing adventures that were all within 1-2.5 hrs away. I would highly recommend it.

Great location for visiting the UP!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Grand Marais and this property was perfect for our small group! Plenty of kitchen and bathroom supplies as well as comfortable beds and furniture. The house has plenty of space for a few more than just our group of 3 as well. The location right on the sand and water was very nice, and a short walk to Lake Superior was easy. Grand Marais was very convenient to visiting Pictured Rock National Park, Whitefish Point, Tuqhemenon Falls, Munising and Marquette. We didn't have the best weather for our trip but it didn't stop us from exploring and enjoying the UP! Definitily have to visit Miners Pasties in Munising and Jean & Kay's for pasties in Marquette. Yum!! The UP was such an amazing place to visit and we can't wait to plan a return trip someday. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Loved this cabin!
Beautiful cabin, nice and spacious with great amenities. Lovely deck and sand right off the back deck. Great spot to sit with the bonfire over the bay. Right close to downtown action and a short walk to the lighthouse point for sunset and a sandy beach!

Great getaway
We had amazing weather for our stay at the end of August. Campfire ring was used every night but one. Super convenient to have washer/dryer. The property listed air conditioning, but there was none. It was hot and humid upon arrival and every sunny afternoon, but cooled to low-mid 70s most evenings. The owner was responsive to this, corrected the listing, and offered use of a screen door that was in storage. The patio door and windows were very difficult to open/close, likely due to weathering. We propped one with a stick. There were a LOT of flies coming in through a crack by the front screen door, but plenty of swatters to take care of them. The kitchen had everything we needed and the charcoal grill was a great amenity. Beds and furniture were comfortable. Smart TV and DVD player/movies were awesome for the one rainy day we had. There were plenty of games and puzzles, though we had brought our own. We spent a lot of time by the bay and found plenty of things to do in the area. Coffee bus was fun, GM Tavern had great pizza and fries, did some geocaching, and some hikes and kayaking at Pictured Rocks. Overall, it was a great getaway and we had some memorable experiences in the UP.

A slice of heaven in the UP
This was our second year renting and was just as enjoyable as the first year. We love the proximity to Lake Superior and the Bay. Water all around. The home is lovely and welcoming. Loved the new coffee pot and window shades this year! We hope to return again in the future.

Tremendous Location in Grand Marais.
Great guest home and location!
Members of our family would gladly stay again!
I spent from childhood through the age of 55 vacationing often in Grand Marais. (Camping in the campground for most of that time.) Therefore, that is the lens through which I (we) appreciate Grand Marais. We love the tranquility that is readily found at this property, walking the beach, or literally anywhere in Grand Marais for that matter.
The home is very "guest friendly".
I highly recommend it!

Excellent Get Away
The Boat House was wonderful! Perfect location for a get away. We stayed 3 nights and were able to do day trips to some of the attractions in the U.P. The property itself was well taken care of and had everything we needed. Very quiet surrounding area with beaches within walking distance. Overall, a great experience!

The Boat House
This is generally a great house; It could use a little upkeep on the outside of the house; branches / sticks / debris all over the place. The inside of the house was clean and well maintained / functional for a family of 6. Definitely bring a SUP or Kayak so you can play in the bay. Our four boys, 12, 10 and twin 5 year olds loved playing in the water / having bond fires at night.
The only negative is the proximity to the house to the east...horrible if you want a little privacy or you have a rowdy crowd next door...when we arrived there were four families crammed into the house, but luckily they left the next day. After that we were able to enjoy the quiet seclusion of the bay; listening to the church bells at 9:00 by the fire every evening was a cool add to the experience of the UP.
BTW; hit sable falls; log slide, AU sable light house (bring bug spray), Seaberg pontoon boat rental in Munising (sunken ship, chapel falls, spray falls, beach, minors beach, tree rock etc...; awesome experience net fishing in sable creek. The best part was everything was within an hour of the house so day trips were really easy.
The tavern in town was great; not much at the grocery store so load up before hitting town.
Anyway happy travels and enjoy!!!

Great location if you like quiet and scenic, which we do! House is exactly as described. Lovely interior, very clean, everything in good working order. Enjoyed our stay.

Not clean
The house needs a better house cleaning service as the throw carpets and the bathroom was not clean. The shower needed a good scrubbing and the throw rugs in the bathroom were dirty. In the rooms throughout the house I would suggest removing all the throw rugs (shabby and dirty) and just keep the wood floor clean. Some of the rugs were curled on the corners and a tripping hazard. The oven was filthy and the pots and pans were not safe to use since the handles were rickety. To use the toaster you had to hold down the lever to get it to work. The coffee pot had a film on the inside of the pot. The refrigerator also needed to be cleaned. In addition, there was a lot of limbs and debris in the yard between the house and the rocks along the water. Many large limbs were on the deck.

Quiet and Relaxing
We had a very nice quiet 4 day getaway in this beach house. It's well maintained and has wonderful interior decorating. Very fitting for a Lake Superior beach house. Local food was great and people very friendly. Got lots of sightseeing in even though it snowed (mid October).

Great house! Cute town! Beautiful views from the house. Swimmable beach in town (5 min drive), or 5 min walk. Owner was very helpful! Loved it!

NearPod
Very nice cabin. Had every amenity one would need. However, I am very disappointed with the service. Bad customer communication, false accusations, and excess fees. Diameter of toilet did help the case.

A real gem
The Boat House was wonderful! We stayed with our 4 kids and it was the perfect amount of sleeping space for all of us. The kitchen had all the basic cooking gear, the towels were fluffy and plentiful, the endless hot water was appreciated as there are 6 of us who need to shower in a row. We had some issues with one of our special needs children and Renee was very understanding and accommodating.
One thing I will mention is that the sandy beach has been filled with large boulders - I imagine to prevent erosion - it was not an issue for us, my kids had a blast climbing all over them, but just something to be aware of. There was a sandy part in front of the neighbor's house and they were fine with us using that, and of course miles of sandy beach just across the street on Lake Superior :)
Grand Marais is a magical little town, everyone we encountered there was friendly and caring. Make sure to check out the Shack and the food truck for breakfasts, the Diner for lunches (the owner is an author and you can pick up her books there as well) and the Brewing Company for dinners, drinks and sometimes even live music.
We loved staying in GM, I felt we were close enough to all the Pictured Rocks activities (we did two boat tours and I did a kayak tour, we also hiked a few waterfalls and the Log Slide dunes) while still getting the true vibe of a Lake Superior small town. The Boat House had all the amenities of a house and all the charm of an Up North cabin. Highly recommend :)

The home was quite charming. Perfect for a family get away.
Our family had a great time staying at the boathouse. We enjoyed the lovely home and quiet beach. Everything we needed was at there. We were able to see many of the areas natural wonders and come back to a home cooked meal. Thanks for having us!

Beautiful home away from home.
Such a beautiful, homey, comfortable place to stay and so close to Pictured Rock National Lakeshore! The view from this beach home is idyllic. We had everything we needed and the food in town was good and conveniently close. Thank you for sharing your little piece of UP heaven with us!

Perfect place to stay while in that part of the UP. Beautiful area and so much to see.
We were off season so we did not do much outside at the cabin but it sure was a gorgeous view. The cabin is well stocked so that basic cooking could be done. Communication was good and the codes for the outdoor lock and Wifi worked perfectly . Cabin is spacious and comfortable.

Beautiful/Awesome Layout
We were thrilled upon arrival. Open lay out so we could watch our little one and make dinner at the same time. Lots of space, rooms are awesome, it was truly relaxing. We even had a storm come through and we would have never known, the house is very solid. We will be coming back for sure.

Love the Boathouse!
My husband and I stayed a week at the Boathouse the first of October for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was fantastic! It had everything we needed to feel at home. We loved the sandy beach area out the backdoor and we could see the sunrise every morning. The boathouse is within walking distance from the beach and town. We walked the beach everyday and fished from the pier. We saw the Northern Lights two nights while there. Grand Marais is a quaint little town and very friendly. We loved eating at the Dunes Saloon and The Diner. We enjoyed Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and also visited Whitefish Point while there. We loved seeing the lighthouses and waterfalls. The leaves were changing and it was a beautiful trip. Great place to visit if you love nature, sightseeing, and need to recharge and relax!!! Renee was great to work with. We will definitely stay at Boathouse again the next time we visit the area.

Lovely home in a great location
The Boat House worked well for 2 couples exploring the area. Close enough to town for amenities but in a quiet residential area. Nicely furnished and comfortable beds. Plenty of room to spread out and relax at the end of a full day. Good to have the fully stocked kitchen for meal preparation. Also enjoyed walks to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Renee was immediately available when I had questions.

Housekeeping needs attention - otherwise wonderful property
The property had everything we needed for our stay. The location was beautiful.
My only complaint was the housekeeping - there was trash that was not taken out, objects found in the carpet/under beds, which means they were not vacuumed. The house was is desperate need of dusting and cobweb removal.

Great place! Well built, and great for vacations. Would like to return. Probably should review your housekeeper. Minimal effort. Upstairs living area seems not dusted this season, many cobwebs, many light bulbs burned out, windows and shower glass/shower appeared not cleaned from previous guests. Just a housekeeping issue.
