We had another great year at Gus and Jill’s. Jill reached out appropriately and responded quickly, the location is perfect, and we can have our dog with us. We love their place.

This house is in a great location in Grand Marais. You can walk to the beach and main street where all the restaurants, shopping, and ice cream shops are. It also is in a quiet neighborhood. The home itself does need some updating, but it was fine for our stay.

The home was very clean and equipt with everything you might need! Great location. Only minutes away from main street. Jill the owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had! Definitely would stay again!

This cozy, small home is conveniently located a block from the West Bay, a couple of blocks from Grand Marais itself, and about four blocks from the main lake. The home is a one-bedroom with a loft and has all of the amenities needed for a one-week stay. The beds were particularly comfortable. The only downside was the lighting. On cloudy days the home would have benefited with a reading light near the sofa, a strong light over the dining room table and a similar light over the sink.

What a fantastic week we had, the place was absolutely perfect! It was a perfect location, a very short walk from the downtown area but also nestled away on a private street under the trees. There was plenty of room and the entire place was well stocked and clean. We would not hesitate to stay there again the next time we are up in Grand Marais!

Nice little house in a lovely quiet neighborhood with peeks of the bay. Easy walking all through town and to the beach. Grand Marais is unbeatable for a respite from the summer heat of the Mid-West. One night we arose and went outside to star watch. The Milky Way, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars were visible. :) Lovely. Met a nice couple from Minneapolis who were spending a few days mooring their sailboat at the village marina. They had sailed from the Apostle Islands to Drummond Island and were returning to port via Isle Royale. A very relaxing time in GM.

Great place to get away from the real world. Yet there are the convinces of home. Place was clean and well maintained. Great location in the middle for our activities of Crisp Light House to Pictured Rocks.

Great place to stay. Located right in town and within walking distance of all restaurants and shops.

We have been renting in Grand Marais for over 30 years. This was a nice place and a good deal. Great location to get to bay or Agate Beach or downtown. Lots of things you need at the house (e.g. can openers, foil, tissue), toys, games, and books. Probably the only thing that bothered us was the incessant church music, not just Sunday and not just bells on the hour (which would even be nice), actual hymns bursting from the church. Nothing the hosts can do anything about and was a small thing overall. We would definitely stay there again. Jill was responsive and pleasant. Loved the deck and being close to town.

Perfect location two blocks from Beautiful Lake Superior. It had every amenity for our stay and is a short walk to Grand Marais, and a manageable drive to hiking and sightseeing.

Excellent kitchen, bedrooms, deck, grill, yard, fire pit!! If you're not on the bay, or tough weather day, this is one of the good places in town to be at. Tucked in and quiet, excellent!!!

VRBO was easy to navigate. I liked being able to communicate with the homeowner. The house felt like home as soon as we arrived. Enjoyed the back deck and the back yard was awesome for our two dogs. Location is great!! Within walking distance to everything yet far enough to not be in the middle of everything. Loved hearing the church bells!!! No where else but Grand Marais! Walks on the beach, spectacular!!! Hubby loved the fishing!

Great location, easy check-in, and a well equipped kitchen made for a great vacation.

This house was a great house in a quiet little town. The house was clean and just as described. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the property owners were very easy to contact with questions. Sharing one bathroom with two teenage girls proved a little bit of a challenge, but that was just my family, otherwise everything was perfect.

Everything you need to have a wonderful vacation is right here in this home. Clean. Comfortable. Good location. Quiet street within walking distance to Lake Superior, downtown shopping, and restaurants. Be sure to check West Bay Diner for dining and desserts!

The kitchen had everything we needed. Washer and dryer were very convenient. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Very comfortable home. It was perfect for our week of exploring back roads and deserted beaches, looking for birds and rocks, and gorgeous fall foliage. We loved Crisp Point Lighthouse and the marsh drive around Seney Wildlife Refuge. The drive through Pictures Rocks was beautiful and sunset on Miner's Beach was wonderful. We watched warblers in the trees from the deck at the house each morning before the day's adventures. We did takeout from the Dunes Saloon twice and had whitefish baskets at the Grand Marais Tavern a couple of times. Overall a perfect week in a lovely spot. Thank you so much, Jill and Gus!

We had a great vacation

This is a very charming rental! Everything was laid out nicely and everything was easy to find. Jill and Gus were very accommodating, even when we ran very late to check in!

We had a wonderful week in Grand Marais and would come back to this property in a heartbeat. It suited us perfectly and really felt like home. The house was well-appointed, comfortable, and all the amenities our family required. Communication with owners was easy and fluid. Good value for the money and the location was perfect. Thanks for a great week—my kids and I made wonderful memories! We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful time in Grand Marais again and liked being close to town and near the church was a plus to hear the church bells. The home had everything we needed for our 1 week stay, including a washer and dryer. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much Jill & Gus!

We loved our stay here and would absolutely stay again! It was perfect for our family. We had a minor issue at check in but it was quickly resolved once we contacted the owner. The home is clean, comfortable and well stocked! We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen and there were plenty of pots, pans, utensils, a crock pot and even some seasonings! It’s in a great location in town which made it easy to walk to the beach or ride bikes around town. We took a few day trips—one to Marquette to Presque Isle Park, and one to Oswalds Bear Ranch. This home was the perfect stay for our family! Thank you!

The owners were prompt in answering all the questions we had. They kept us informed of the things happening in town because of Covid. Loved Grand Marais. Everything we envisioned. A nice peaceful get-away. Don't think twice about renting. The property was fantastic and so are the owners! Very clean. Short walk to town and the beach.

The house was just as advertised .. well equipped and very very clean and well kept. Nice quiet location and very close to everything in Grand Marais. Loved the small town atmosphere and friendly people. Plan a repeat visit.

This rental was exactly what we wanted. A little slice of heaven in one of the most beautiful locations Michigan has to offer. Was peaceful, quiet, and just the right size for my family. One of the best vacations we have had in years. Absolutely recommend!

Great location.

Living room was very cozy and comfortable. Spent a lot of time trying to find light switches. Also, the windows need to be fixed. They were dirty and very difficult to open and close. The grill was dirty as was the inside stove Bathroom was an accident waiting to happen. I higher toilet would have bee nice since you were putting in a new one another were no grab bars making it difficult to get in. I used the dinning room chain and bought some gripping water shoes. Another safety issue were the beautiful rag rugs. They did not have any anti skid pads under them so they had to be put up for safety reasons. No smoke or co2 alarms were seen . Beds were wonderful and comfortable with extra linens provided and there was a substantial supplies of towels. The very best thing was they allowed our dog.
