The pictures don't do this cottage justice. I was expecting something that looked like my Great Aunt's home, but it was in much better condition and beautifully maintained. Beach is beautiful! I understood that there was a dirt path up to the cottage and am fine with it, but it is about 2 stories up and a bit hard to carry things like a heavy cooler. I would still go back though.

The property is well maintained and easily accessible, the beach is across the street, it beautiful clean and crystal clear water.

Simple, rustic cabin with all necessities for a fun beach getaway. Clean, comfortable beds. Easy walk to nice, sandy private beach, and easy walk to Balm Beach public beach and restaurants.

A beautiful weekend at the beach!

The beach, the sunset, the drive, the area, and meeting "Bill" were all the most beautiful experiences.

Area is way too populated. Would have preferred beach front. Tv and cable would have been nice considering the price. Too pricy for what you get.

Location is beautiful. We under stood the listing as rustic and minimal but the Doctors House is run down and seems uncared for. Just because something is rustic it can still be well cared for and maintained. Can not speak to the other buildings on property as they may have retained their charm. We cut our stay short by two days.

We stayed for 3 nights and Willie was more than accommodating. The property itself was just as described; quaint, private beach and a fantastic time. The cottage itself is…a cottage. Not many amenities, but we weren’t there to spend all our time in the room. Their beach is a quick walk across the street and we’re glad we chose the locale. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time (with the other family of renters). If you looked north, the public beach was FILLED with people. Willie was a great host; attentive and always willing to help out. We are looking forward to our trip there next year.

Basic cottage, simple, nothing fancy, needs some fixing but the beach and water are one of the best. Nice clean sand, crystal clean water. Nice place to relax and recharge. :) Any issues Willie will take care of it, bonfire great idea.

The ad said rustic but it ended up being more rustic than we wante. The host was so sweet and accommodating and the location was great. The beach was 😍😍😍

The cabin was exactly how it’s advertised, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Rustic charm, and had all the necessities needed. Willie was quick to reply to our questions and very accommodating. The beach is beautiful, plenty of beach chairs for our use. We went during the week, so we basically had the beach to ourselves! Just a 15 minute walk to Balm Beach for ice cream! We would definitely come back!

My boyfriend, kids and myself stayed here from July 22- July 25. We had the most amazing time and are planning next years trip already! The sunsets over the private beach was absolutely beautiful we went down every night to see it. Even though the power went out the last night we still made the best of it. Willie was on top of everything and checked to see if we needed candles or a flashlight. 100% will be recommending this place to people.

Three of us stayed for a week, and I will definitely return at a future time with various members of my family. The location is brilliant. Nestled in the quiet forest, steps away from the beautiful private beach, a short walk away from the restaurants and small shops of Balm beach, everything that is needed for a cozy vacation is here. The cabin is sufficiently appointed for cooking at home and the large fridge makes stocking up on food easy. The host was on premises and was not only helpful but welcoming. One evening he made a fire on the beach and we spent a delightful evening reminiscent of my childhood vacations. The dunes are beautiful. As I am a big swimmer, the placid water and sandy bottom of the bay have made this location my top favorite for swimming. I look forward to returning with my elder daughter and her children. The location and beach are perfect for small kids. Bringing our own linens was simple and we were very happy with the quality of the mattresses and pillows. Expect rustic. This is a cabin for those who appreciate simplicity.

Amazing location! Friendly hosts! Overall a memorable experience

We were booked in from Monday to Monday, which included the Labour Day weekend. The start of our trip was great, the property was as described, and Stefan and Katya were friendly and responsive. We spent a lot of time on the beach, which we also enjoyed thoroughly.We did anticipate that there would be more noise and heavier traffic in the area on the long weekend, as we used to have a family cottage one beach over at Cawaja, but as the rules for renters included a quiet time between 11pm and 7am, we didn't expect that rule to not apply to guests in the main house onsite and the party to be essentially on our front lawn..A large group of young adults arrived on Friday as guests of the management and I believe more came on Saturday during the day. We did mention on Saturday evening when we needed the propane tank changed on our BBQ that we had been woken up at around 4am by loud guests the night before, and we were told that they would be spoken to. Following that, several hours later on Saturday night, a drunken guest made their way onto our porch, kicked the full recycling bin which woke everyone up again (at 3am) and tried for a few minutes to enter our locked cabin. Someone finally came and got them to take them to wherever they were supposed to be, but not before completely scaring our 2 daughters half to death. Sunday, once everyone was awake, the partying resumed, and we were no longer comfortable on the porch of the property where not 15 feet away people were drinking, smoking and hanging out, and when we went down to the beach they were also gathered en masse down there. We no longer felt like we had a place to relax and enjoy, but rather that we were intruding, despite being paying guests. We made the decision to pack up that afternoon, and came home before we completed our last night there. The property was exactly as described, and we had a great stay outside of the long weekend, however it was disappointing that it ended the way it did.

This was our second stay at the Doctor's House cottage, and it was as lovely as the first. Stefan and Katya are wonderful and kind. Their main concern is the guests, and it shows. The cottage is very cozy and very clean. Love the large window in the bedroom that opens up to an old growth forest. It's the perfect spot to relax when the rain is falling. We got lucky and spotted the supposedly fabled foot long woodpecker. He/she is a beauty. The beach and water are beautiful, exactly as shown. Cheers to the summer of 2020! Thank you Stefan & Katya!!

My family recently stayed in the cabin. The cabin is clean and very bare bones. The owners were very nice. But for us it was ALL about the beach. The water is so clear and beautiful. Even when it was windy we played in the warm waves for hours. We walked up and down the beach. My kids loved the arcade at the Georgian Grill. My daughter become skilled at one of my childhood favourites, Pac-Man. :) The sunsets over the water are breathtaking. We sat and looked out over the water for hours. Just a gorgeous place to spend our vacation. Loved it!

Such character, so rustic, so cute, and what history. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights, and by the second night we booked another weeks stay ;) Stefan and Katya are very welcoming,.everything you want in a host. Stefan went the extra mile to ensure our stay was everything we expected and wanted. It was The cottage was so clean!! We brought all of our own supplies, but the cottage was filled with everything you would need The bedroom had a large window that opened up to a backyard old growth forest. The sounds and smells were very zen. The beach is exactly as shown. Absolutely beautiful. We had our own personal section on the beach, as did the other cottages on site. It was perfect.

Everything went really smooth.

Our weekend at the cabin was great, it was just as described and the beach was perfect! We would certainly consider coming back.

The place and neighborhood is quiet, the beach clean and beautiful. The house inside is very old, also the furniture, beds, bathroom. It should be renovated and it smells old and musty.

The cabin is no-frills and perfect for a quick get-away and equipped with all the basics. If you're looking for privacy, the cabins are a bit closer together than they may appear online. Overall, I had a nice time and the beach across the street is beautiful .

We just got back from our week at Balm beach, we stayed in this cottage and really loved it because it's so private and shaded, tucked away in the trees. It had everything that we needed, we actually bought lawn chairs with us but didn't need them, they were provided both at the cottage and the beach. The private beach is beautiful, most of the time we had it all to ourselves. You can walk into the water easily, all sand bottom, no rocks. The cottage also has a barbecue, which is spotless. The entire grounds are kept immaculate. This was the rustic cottage experience that we were looking for, and I would definitely go back again.

The cabin was cute and was wonderful for what we were looking for. It even had a barbeque with a full propane tank. The property was amazing. In the back yard is the forrest. Loved the private beach access. It was beautiful. Great getaway for anyone wanting to wake up listening to the birds. Beautiful water to swim in. Great family time. Will be going bank in the future:)

The Doctor's Cabin is rustic and simple. We loved the view out the back of the master bedroom and the private beach on Lake Huron. The caretaker was very helpful and friendly.
