My family of 9 (with two in-laws) stayed here and had an awesome time! This is the perfect location for sunsets and every evening at sunset, a lot of people came to the cliffs across the street to experience the sunsets that were a part of our stay. We loved it!

Overall we enjoyed our stay there. Our grandkids loved the pool and it is a great location, so close to so many things. Some of the rules were a little disappointing, like not being outside after 8pm. It would have been nice to enjoy this wonderful weather on the beautiful deck in the evenings.

Gorgeous sunsets, beautiful pool and plenty of space for our family vacation! While there is not actual beach access from the house, the view from the cliffs makes up for it. Our large family of eight had plenty of room to spread out comfortably. The host was very responsive and we are looking forward to a return visit!!

Our party of 12 had a fantastic week here! The house + guest house was the perfect size for our group, with plenty of room to spread out. We loved the proximity to Ocean Beach, and the views of Sunset Cliffs from the front porch were absolutely amazing. The host was super responsive, and even dropped off brand new chairs for us to use at the beach one morning. Overall, highly recommend!

Amazing!! The house, views, and location are all incredible. The home is set up great for both indoor and outdoor entertaining, and the sunsets are spectacular! The Check-in process was easy and the property manager was friendly and available throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Perfect location and great views. However, the house is definitely in need of maintenance. Walls have marks/ gouges that need attention. Pool fence had a big hole. House smelled musty when we arrived ( as though it had been closed up for a long time) and the smell never completely went away. Shower leaked where caulking needs replacing. Joseph, the property manager responded quickly to any inquiries. Overall the views and location are great but the other issues mentioned are big enough that I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

First, Joseph is a fantastic property manager. Always responsive and helpful. The house was great- plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed the views and fire pit on the front deck and the backyard and pool were great as well. We had family visiting from the midwest and while it did cost extra to have the pool heated, it was well worth it so we could enjoy the pool and spa during the 6 days we stayed at the property. We will go back again, for sure.

We booked this rental due to proximity to Sunset Cliffs where my daughter and fiancé were getting married. There were 3 families and plenty of room for all. The property is amazing with decks in the front and back of the house and the view of the Pacific is spectacular. Kids and adults enjoyed the pool and hot tub. This property has fantastic views and plenty of space. We enjoyed playing in the pool during the day, and sunsets on the front porch with a cocktail. We visited all the San Diego family friendly destinations and this house was the perfect location to access it all. Joseph is a wonderful and attentive host!

Probably the single best feature of this house is the incredible views of the ocean from the house. Also, the house is spacious and the pool and hot tub very nice (although it costs $100 per day to heat). The house is reasonably well furnished and the kitchen is excellent. The property manager, Joseph, is extremely pleasant and responsive. Shortcomings include the fact that two of the bathrooms have no doors separating them from the adjacent bedrooms as well as a heating system that was only fair and we had to use a couple of space heaters. In addition, the guest house where one of the bedrooms is located had a significant water leak which Joseph did get taken care of as promptly as he could arrange. The location of the house is excellent with easy access to the airport and the city attractions.

We were very comfortable and couldn't be happier about the location--the ocean cliff views were amazing. Joseph the property manager was extremely attentive and responsive to any questions. Everything was as listed on the property. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook and tons of beach towels.

Our family lives all over the US, so once a year we all get together for several days. This year was Sunset Cliffs, San Diego.
Comfort, convenience and a casual atmosphere are the things that are very important to our family.
This property was all that - and even more! The house has an beautiful, sleek design and the number of bedrooms (including a fully-equipped guest house) was perfect for us.
Our family loves to cook together and enjoy each other's company while doing so. This home had the best spaces to do both!
The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking (which is sometimes hard to find) and the outdoor kitchen included a wood-fired oven, which was a huge bonus for us!
But most importantly was the above and beyond service from Joseph and his team. We were so well cared for that we felt as though Joseph was part of our family!
And I appreciated that there was both a walk-through at the start and at the finish of our stay.
Anything we needed, Joseph was both quick to respond and to take care of our needs. A major benefit while staying in a home away from home.
Our stay couldn't have been any better!
If we decide to venture back to San Diego, we will go out of our way to secure a property that this team manages!

Perfect house for a gathering of old friends from Alaska to Nebraska! Views cannot be beat and the space gave plenty of spots to connect together (massive front and back decks plus the pool and hot tub) with privacy provided in the 5 bedrooms. House is well stocked if cooking or grilling at home. Location was enough 'away' from the busier parts of town to feel peaceful and yet close enough to be within 10 minutes to most places we wanted to visit. Would certainly recommend it and would return on next trip.

Our family had the most wonderful stay at the Villa Sunset Modern in Sunset Cliffs. The location is prime, and the sunsets, cliffs, and views are magnificent. The outside living areas are enormous and resort-like. The house was very clean, and had everything we needed (including plenty of pool towels). The property manager/host, Joseph, was very friendly, responsive and professional. The property and experience were exactly what we expected based on the prior reviews. We look forward to our next stay!

Memorable and fun!
I am in full agreement with other reviews that the property management is very friendly, professional and responsive when something needed to be addressed. One instance involved a baby seagull that fell from its nest and we were all concerned about its welfare. Joseph called Sea World for us and they were very quick to rescue the little guy, which eased the hearts of the children in our group. This particular location was ideal for our three-generation family, with enough space to afford people privacy when needed, but great for gathering together as well. The ocean views and gorgeous sunsets offset the minor things that could have been better. There is a great deal of street activity because it’s such a perfect spot for early morning surfers, joggers, dog walkers, weddings, etc., all enjoyable to watch from the amazing two-level deck. Our overall experience, was delightful and we are seriously thinking about returning next year.

Family vacay - amazing property and host!
The property is exactly as shown. Our host, Joseph, was awesome. He met us at check-in and helped with our grocery delivery that arrived before we did. Oops. He showed us around and helped us get acquainted with the property and how everything worked. I forgot how to work the pool temp so he quickly came over the next day to help me out. He was very attentive and willing to answer my questions and help with anything we needed. The views are amazing. It is the prime spot on Sunset Cliffs. We saw a wedding or proposal every day. The sunsets are incredible and you can watch from inside the home or the front porch. We sat by the fire pit most nights to enjoy the sunsets. The home was perfect for our large family. Joseph was kind to accommodate all of us. The casita was a bonus. Everything worked well. The appliances are high end and the home is well appointed. Plenty of dishes and pots and pans, etc. You'll need your own spices but we expected that. The home was clean and ready for us to enjoy. The recommendations for local places to eat and shop were perfect. Phil's BBQ was fantastic. The pool was a favorite. We opted to heat it which was perfect because the spa/jacuzzi is attached to the pool. The kids loved being able to swim in and out of the spa. The home gets warm in the evenings because of the large windows. We just opened the doors and let the cool ocean breeze cool us off. There are fans as well if needed. Thanks for hosting us and sharing your beautiful ocean front home with us. Our kids and grandkids are still posting about the fun we had. We hope to return again. It was a perfect vacation.

Amazing location with beautiful view. It was perfect size for our family. Joseph was great, readily available to help. The only issue (for me) not my twenty somethings) was the grill, and fire pit. The two appliances no longer ignited with push start and had to be lit with a lighter. I feel like for $1600/night these should work correctly.

Incredible Week in San Diego
We had a spectacular week in San Diego. Joseph and his team had the property ready for us and were incredibly responsive when we had questions and concerns. Had the best, relaxing vacation ever! Stunning location. Great for running, yoga, surfing, and sunsets. My mother and mother in law both near 90 loved the house, walking the neighborhood and being today. Thankyou so much for the best vacation ever!

Excellent stay at an excellent property. Photos do nit do it justice. Spectacular view and great spaces to enjoy it from. Property has all the comforts of home, as well as some thoughtful hotel-type amenities. in each bathroom. It was a perfect hone-base for our family in town for a wedding. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. Would happily stay again.
