big house with a great outdoor area for kids to play at. nice and close to the town, but far enough to be quiet. would definitely come stay again!

Very handy location and a well stocked house that had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Lawns werent mowed on arrival but were done during our stay and rubbish bin was delivered day before we checked out. Would stay again as plenty of room for family and the kids to enjoy

A great, spacious house with very comfortable beds and presented very well. Has generous parking and a big section. The house is on a very busy 80km road and the road noise starts from about 6.30am until late evening. Other than that, a great place to stay.

Lots of space for kids, especially for games in the large backyard. A bit far from the beach and town. Clean and spacious house. We missed not having a coffee plunger.

Fantastic home! Comfy beds and large kitchen and lounge area. Close to town and a quick trip to Ohope beach.

The property is tidy and I think the owners are trying to improve the house. The bathroom needs repair as the floor is water damaged from the shower. The property manager was not advised that we were arriving, so when we got there there was used linen from the previous guests in the wash house and the house hadn't been cleaned... it was however still clean and tidy. The property manager apologised, (however it appears it was not her fault). We washed the used linen and cleaned all the surfaces and decided no big deal. The house is located on a busy 80km road and traffic is pretty constant from 7:00am until the evening going back and forth from the Coastlands sub-division. As it's an 80km speed limit, so traffic is going pretty fast... often more like 100km. The location is very handy to 'The Hub' shopping centre which has a cafe, Famers, K-Mart, Bunnings, Rebel Sport, Harvey Normans and a couple of other stores. Whakatane Town Centre is only a 5 - 7 minute drive. Ohope Beach is only around 10 - 12 minute drive. Ohope Beach is great. You can do a 15 minute walk from the West End of Ohope over to the beautiful Otarawairere Bay... definitely worth the walk. There are a couple of other bush walks from Ohope as well. If you want great fish and chips (and burgers) go to Gibbo's on King Street in the Kopeopeo Shopping Centre area... awesome!

While spacious and fit all of us well, it seemed that the owner gave lots of room for flies to be around as it was completely fly-ridden inside the house, probably owing to the pile of garbage they had left in the garage. If you enjoy cleaning, this is the perfect holiday spot for you, as well as shopping for the necessities of a house, as we had to buy extra bedding, dishwash, hand soap and a few other house necessities. That moldy curtain the other reviews mentioned? Still there. I hope you don't stay there in the winter as well, because they don't keep track on whether the gas for the hot water is filled and we ran out of hot water on the 2nd day due to the propane tanks both being empty. Advertised a BBQ, but it was rusted right through and unusable. The toilet seat was a joy to use too, missing a bolt, so it moved when you sat down!

Fantastic location for my Whānau and I 👍 We stayed in this Whānau home for 9 days and it had everything we needed. Lots of space for the kids, excellent kitchen and dining area, comfy beds & an air con in the living room :) The neighbour kindly took away our rubbish which was awesome! Lovely place and handy to town. Unfortunately had some issues with the power, but it was dealt with promptly as best as it could being Easter Sunday. I would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately we were unable to stay at this beautiful place as there was a sudden death in our family. We we’re however, able to reschedule our stay to a later date. So very thankful the owner is very understanding and allowed us to change our dates at the last minute. I would highly recommend this holiday home. Can’t wait for our stay just waiting for the owner to confirm the date.
