We had a beautiful stay as La Mesa for Memorial Weekend for our son's graduation. The home is stocked with everything you need from pantry sundries to towels for the pool. Very thoughtful and through planning to ensure you don't ever need to leave. Thank you. We had a wonderful time.

Our extended family with 3 adult children and their spouses and our nine grandchildren from 2yrs. to 19 yrs. all loved the home! The game room was a big hit with the children, the pool and spa were fun for all, and the expanse of the home made it feel like we were never on top of each other. The house was well supplied and Scott, the owner, was very responsive to anything we needed while we were there. The kids all said they want to come back again soon!

The pictures of this house don’t do it justice. The amount of space both indoors and outdoors is amazing. The best supplied house we have ever rented. Centrally located with gorgeous views. Already planning to come back. Scott was very kind and responsive. We had no issues at all and highly recommend this house and San Diego in general.

I visited this home with my extended family. The house was incredible, had lots of space and was very comfortable. Scott was very accommodating and very responsive to our needs and we hope to visit once again.

We booked this for our annual golf trip. The house was plenty large enough for 16 adult men. Large spaces gave each of us privacy as needed, but there is also plenty of room to gather without feeling cramped.

We were 8 adults staying at this beautiful Villa. Tons of room, loved the pool and hot tub, gorgeous sunsets. Would come back in a heartbeat!

12 adults stayed for 4 nights. Amazing house with TONS of room. The house is so well stocked with food and supplies in the huge pantry. Professional kitchen with huge fridge. We never wanted to eat out. Scott was very responsive and flexible. Multiple people in.the group talked about coming back with their own families

This home had plenty of room for our family of 18 to spread out - so many places for games and conversation both indoors and outdoors, and an amazing pool and lawn space too! The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with all of the necessities (including high quality toilet paper 😊). The location was convenient for all of the tourist spots we visited. Scott was a helpful, responsive host and we have no complaints at all! We’d gladly stay there again!

We had a large family gathering with adults and kids and this place was incredible for that gathering. The kitchen had every gadget you needed and the house was very clean. Two of our family members were travelling with toddlers and the place was very accommodating for people in our family from 80 years old to two years old. The views and pool area were incredible. The location of the house was great and within 20 minutes of the places we visited for sightseeing. Our host, Scott, was friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommend this place for a family gathering and we hope to book this property again in the future.

The spacious living areas provided ample room for our large group, ensuring that everyone had their own slice of paradise. The pool and surrounding deck were the perfect places to unwind and take in the stunning vistas. Whether we were sipping morning coffee on the patios or enjoying the photo tub while watching the sunset, the view was absolutely mesmerizing. Privacy was a key highlight of our stay. With so much space both indoors and outdoors, we felt like we were in our own private resort. The host had thoughtfully provided all the amenities we could need, making it easy for us to relax and enjoy our time without a worry in the world. The bedrooms were comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring a good night's sleep after long days of fun in the sun. The fully-equipped kitchen made preparing meals a breeze. The host was incredibly accommodating and responsive, ensuring that our stay was as seamless as possible. Their attention to detail and hospitality added an extra layer of comfort. This property and home are amazing! We had a fabulous stay with our family of 16. The home is so spacious and comfortable. We loved the views, the privacy and the outdoor spaces. We appreciated that many bedrooms had their own bathroom. This home is very well stocked with many extras for the bathrooms and kitchen (condiments, spices, shampoo…and much more. We had excellent communication with Scott, the owner. Scott was very responsive to any needs, questions or issues. As noted, there are many stairs both inside and out. When our grandma and great aunt wanted to go down to the pool area, we drove them to the lower driveway which helped avoid many stairs. The neighborhood is beautiful-great walk up to Mt. Helix Park. We highly recommend this VRBO and would stay again if we could!

Photos don't do justice to this amazing property! It was the perfect place to gather our family of 12, with more than enough space, high end furnishings and kitchen ware, and everything you need to comfortably stay and cook for a large family. The sunsets were amazing, the pool and jacuzzi, and the grounds were impeccable! Scott was a wonderful host. We hope to return again one day to this amazing villa! Mahalo, Scott!

My softball team and our families stayed here during a tournament in the area. The location was centrally located to all of our games, so it was perfect for us. We spent most of our time enjoying the pool and outdoor space which was great after long, hot days of playing softball. We had plenty of space for 20 adults and one infant.

We had a great stay in La Mesa. The villa is beautiful (pictures don't do it justice vs. seeing it in person). The pool was our favorite part and great for a large family staying here.

This house was absolutely amazing. It was well stocked with everything you can think of. From disposable cups and plates to charcoal, and hygiene products. It was big enough for everyone to break off into there own groups if wanted to. The back yard was everything I wanted in this trip as we was celebrated my husbands and son’s birthday we spent most of our time there. Definitely will be planning another trip here!

We have a very large family, and everyone was comfortable at this beautiful home. Location is perfect as it is close to everything San Diego has to offer. Would not hesitate to book again if it’s available. Thanks Scott!

Great location and property. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool.

Host: Communicating with Scott was incredibly easy. He was quick to respond to text messages and to VRBO messages. He was very clear in his communication and overall he was a terrific host. Property: We absolutely adored this property. It was spacious, each of our three families had room for privacy. The 4 children in our group had lots of space to play. I can echo what others have said: the dishwashers are picky, and since the property is on a septic system, there were some rules about the garbage disposals. That said, we had absolutely no issues and the rules weren't unreasonable. There are only two items to note that are the reason I put the rating at 4 stars. (1) We knew the property was on a hillside, but we were not prepared for the exact volume of stairs. The stairs are also all different heights and widths. We did have two incidents where someone fell when transitioning from the uniform stairs to the different width/height stairs. I wish the posting had been super clear about the volume of stairs and accessibility for people who have greater difficulty walking. (2) The flies. The property rules include a request that in the event the home needs to be cooled down, to prioritize opening up the windows and doors. We did this every morning as requested. Simply stated: there are no screens on any of the windows and we had daily massive battles with flies. I would love it if the home had screens so that we could have fresh air without allowing the outside in.

We loved our stay at Scott’s incredible hillside home in Mt Helix. Our family of 20 meets every other summer and this is the finest yet most comfortable home we’ve ever stayed in. If we ever repeat a location, this would be it! The house is huge and has many outdoor gathering spaces—we found ourselves returning to the veranda off the dining room over and over. There was firewood to use in the outdoor fireplace there and blankets were thoughtfully provided for the evening chill. The views from there are breathtaking! The pool and grounds are beautifully kept and the climate is so lovely we only used the air in the upstairs bedrooms at night. The pool is very large and there was plenty of furniture and umbrellas for shade, One minor frustration was that because of the septic system the garbage disposal is unusable and dishes must be spotless before being put in the dishwasher. We also had trouble discerning in advance how the house was laid out. We were surprised to find that the entrance to the rec room was either through BR7 or from the outdoors. Also BR6 is across a courtyard and off to itself (which was lovely for we grandparents); however it is a short outdoor walk across the courtyard to get into the house to the bathroom. None of these things would keep us from returning, though! We also found the home to be a good value for our huge group especially considering other homes in the San Diego area. Mt Helix is a one amazing property after another!

The beautiful Villa was great. Our second time and both occasions were memorable.

We were 6 couples traveling for our 40th birthdays and this house did not disappoint! Very well equipped with everything you could need. Lots of towels, beach towels, kitchen accessories, spices, paper plates, napkins, cleaning supplies, cribs, pool toys…you name it. We each had our own room and bathroom which was amazing. The pool and hot area were perfect for laying around. Plenty of space for all of us. BBQ worked great and we cooked a lot of our own food. Many many areas for seating and hanging out. So many that we didn’t even get to enjoy them all! Spots for sun, and shade, indoors and outdoors, plus the games room! Everything was clean and in great working order. Check in was super easy and Scott was very quick with responding. I would highly recommend staying here! Perfect for a large group!

Nicely appointed rooms with a well-stocked kitchen that had spacious refrigerators, counters and dishwashers. Gorgeous pool area, lots of patios, and great views from every room. Be aware that the hillside design has multiple levels and a LOT of stairs.

This home was perfect for our California visit! We traveled with an infant & toddlers and parents & grandparents and there was plenty of space for all of us. It was really nice having all the "extras" for the variety of ages. The check in/out process was very easy and any time we had questions, the owner was very quick in responding. It's a beautiful home and I would highly recommend if traveling to this area!

The house was perfect! It was all that we could ever have expected! Scott was very attentive ! We all loved the pool and hot tub. Weather wasn’t the best but didn’t stop us from having fun!

House and views were amazing. Beds were comfortable. One of the best parts was all the things other guests would leave behind, such as plastic cups, garbage bags, condiments among other things. Scott was an awesome host as well and very responsive.

Thanks to Southwest, only 9 of the expected 13 family members made it to Mt. Heli,. The house was perfect for a large number of people, with a variety of places to gather or have time alone. The views during sunrise and sunset kept us glued to the place at those hours. Looking over La Mesa with the holiday lights was a never-ending pleasure. Scott was responsive and attentive to all questions and concerns.

The home was lovely - we were a large family and had plenty of bedrooms & places to spread out. The owner was immediately responsive to all inquiries. Location is a bit removed but did not take more than 15-20 minutes to get to a lot of activities.

Beautiful property. Four generations of family stayed here for one week. So much room for everyone. Enjoyed the pool area. Also the lawn for playing croquet and taking family photos against the sunset. Lots of intimate spaces but also a huge living room for when everyone wants to be together. Kitchen was very well stocked. Easy to drive to downtown San Diego. Highly recommend this home.

The home is ideal for large Family Reunion...Our Week of Thanksgiving was Fabulous....14 of us from LA, Maryland & Texas....Greats & Grands... 86 to 3 months! Many steps for GG but with everyones help I managed! Weather was perfect for the Pool & the Favorite Hot Tub! View & Sunsets Beautiful!

We had 8 of our remote colleagues join us for 5 days at Scott's place. The house certainly matches the description and photos; beautiful property that is in great condition. Probably the cleanest location we have ever rented, not a speck of dust on any surface, and even the grill was immaculate! Several in our party remarked that the beds and pillows were top quality. Scott was easy to work with, and very responsive.
