We had the most restful time of our lives !! Truly a wonderful cottage to spend our vacation on the Island !! It had Everything we needed to relax and Enjoy our time there .. Beautiful views of St. John and St. Thomas . We Enjoyed nights in the Hot Tub drinking daiquiris looking at the night sky , and mornings having coffee watching the iguanas in the trees below getting sun ! We cannot wait to come back !!

My new husband and I had a wonderful time at the Meritage Cottage! Very private and a beautiful view! The bigger house is pretty close but we didn’t find it overly disturbing. Our favorite thing was to wake up around 4 and sit outside looking at the stars and listening to the waves crash on the beach below. We are already planning our next visit! Abby was also great and super helpful! We loved her!

The property just what we needed, and the view was gorgeous. The only issue we had was the driving. You might want to let visitors know that the drive to the property is quite steep. We would have probably skipped the car rental had we known the taxi service was great and parking space downtown was so limited. Being a couple of flatlanders from Iowa, it took us a couple of days to adjust. Other than that, it was perfect

Property is in a nice secluded location with a larger house on the same driveway. Staying in the cottage we did not hear the neighbors at all and we felt like we had nice privacy at all times.

We absolutely loved staying at this cottage. It was the most perfect romantic getaway for my husband and I. It was very clean the hospitality was great and you can’t beat the views. We had the most perfect sunset views. And having breakfast on the deck counting the iguanas in the tree was our favorite morning activity. We left a piece of our hearts at this cottage in St. John and we plan to book here every year. We have finally found our forever home away from home.

Views were amazing. Cottage cosy for two people but too close to large rental next door. Would explain to guests renting cottage to be prepared for noise and lack of concern for future cottage guests. Would also need to be informed about power outages and lack of water.

The stay was everything we could have wanted on St. John. The location, amenities, and help made the stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Great little cottage with a lovely patio. Easy drive into Cruz Bay. The cottage was stocked with all the essentials (coolers, beach chairs, snorkel). Loved it!

We really enjoyed our time at this perfect little cottage. Property Manager and Owners were fantastic. King bed was comfy, kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals & full size fridge was appreciated. The large private deck has ridiculously beautiful views! Hot Tub was great after full days exploring St Johns trails and beaches. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and had fun playing spot the Iguanas (who hang out in the tree tops below in the AM to warm up). The few bug bites were worth it, would absolutely stay here again.

Our family had a fantastic time staying at Meritage cottage. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and easy to find. Abby the property manager was very personable and made our family feel welcomed. The view is incredible with stunning views of Hart Bay and St. Thomas in the distance. The location is really close to The Dolphin Market, ( near the Westin) if you should need provisions. It is also within 10 minutes to all of the best beaches. We couldn't recommend this property more.

Loved staying here. Close to the Cruz Bay restaurants and shops. Short drive to amazing beaches. Loved that it was secluded. The bugs are no joke though, you will want bug spray whether it’s sitting in the deck or just walking to your car. Beach chairs were a little beat up, but functioned just fine. Abby (the property manager) was very helpful. Chris the owner was great to reach out before the trip and give us tips for travel that were very useful. Would totally return!

Couldn’t be happier with our stay at Meritage! Super clean, comfortable king size bed, all the amenities in the kitchen to cook, beach towels, snorkel equipment, chairs and coolers all available. The pool and hot tub were awesome to relax in the evening with a spectacular view! House is just outside of town and not hard to get around to beaches or restaurants- about 10 minutes. The owner was in town doing some work and he couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. We will be back and staying here for sure!

My Wife and I stayed here at Meritage Cottage, for our 20th Anniversary trip. What an amazing experience. The Cottage was perfect for our getaway, with the amenities that we needed, for our active stay. Plenty of privacy on the deck overlooking Chocolate Hole and 2 other bays, with St. Thomas in the distance, made for amazing sunsets. We enjoyed much of what the island has to offer, from Hiking to secluded beaches, and windy cliffs, snorkeling beautiful reef spots all alone, and exploring the local shoreline by boat and paddleboard. All top notch. The property owner Chris, was super hepful and communicated everything we needed to know up front, and the property manager Abby was an absolute delight. This was our first time on St. John's, and will not be our last!!!

This was far and away the best location, with an amazing view, gentle breezes, morning rainbows, and a hot tub to ease the stress from the day's activities. We are restored! In desperate need of a pair of kitchen scissors, we purchased a pair to leave as a "house warming" gift...The cottage is very nicely appointed with comfortable seating and beautiful interior lighting, and a covered deck for sitting outside in the rain. Oh, and Abby was a most helpful ally when we got lost in the dark! Love this property!

Meritage Cottage was a perfect spot for my wife and I to spend our honeymoon. Everything about the location and listing of the property was spot on and just as beautiful as advertised. The communication with the house and manager was easy and quick. I could not recommend Meritage Cottage highly enough.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. The property was much more than we had hoped for. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the views were amazing. The pool and hot tub were a great way to spend relaxing evenings. Abby was so friendly and helpful. We hope to stay here again one day!

My husband and I just returned from the best vacation we have ever been on and it had everything to do with our rental home !! Well ok the beaches are pretty fantastic too !! The owner Chris was exceptional in every way !! Flexible and generous are the two words that come to mind. This home is far beyond what the pictures show and we will most definitely be coming back. Every little detail is covered for you as a guest you don’t have to think about beach chairs or coolers or even snorkel equipment!! We could not have been happier with our experience in St.John !! My husband and I had a fantastic vacation in St. John's, and loved our home away from home. It had everything we needed and was very comfy. The porch is awesome, and having the grill ready to go was wonderful since we caught a couple fish on our boating trip! We enjoyed being tucked away in the forest with a gorgeous view, while having Cruz Bay a short drive away. We highly recommend staying here, you will be well taken care of by Sinbad! :)

We had a great honeymoon at the cottage!! Sinbad was awesome. He picked us up right from the ferry (even though we arrived at 1130pm) and got us to our car and then to the house and made us feel at home. The cottage is in a wonderful spot (very cozy) and has an amazing view. It was only five minutes from down town so we didn't feel like driving into town for dinner every night was a big deal, but it was far enough away so that we felt like the house was secluded and peaceful. The view from the deck was amazing, we were so happy to come back to a gorgeous sunset spot every evening and to hear the ocean from our deck in the morning. It was also great to get into the hot tub at night and we still had a nice view given the moon light. The amenities were also great, we were able to stream netflix over the wifi, the a/c was a welcome relief from the heat of the day, and we made breakfast almost every morning in the kitchen. It was also really nice to use the beach chairs and cooler provided at the house for the beaches! Overall the cottage was a lovely spot for our honeymoon. We loved St.John and having our own private spot on a beautiful part of the island. We highly recommend the cottage and we hope to be back in the years to come!

We liked the privacy, the view and the 'homey' feel. A few complaints: the refrigerator went out overnight twice, the WiFi didn't work unless you stood near the neighboring house, and the power went out one night. All in all, not a bad place for the price.

When we arrived Sinbad met us at the ferry dock, showed us around town, and told us everything we needed to know about the property and the island. He did a fantastic job and was helpful all week. The cottage itself was slightly smaller than expected, but a perfect size for us as a young, newly married couple The view was simply breathtaking. We marveled at it every morning as we ate breakfast on the deck. Meritage cottage is in a perfect location in relation to the view and the town. We were secluded enough to make it feel like a get-away with stunning sunset, mountain, and ocean views, but still close enough to town to run in whenever we wanted or needed. The hot tub was a nice perk to have there, but it was often simply too hot for us to use. We looked through the movies and only recognized about two or three. I would suggest updating that selection.

When I go on vacation, I want a hassle-free experience & this is what I found with the Chris, Sinbad, & the Meritage Cottage. When I spoke to Chris, I was put at ease that there was an experienced owner that would deal with any issues. Sinbad met us on St. John & gave us a quick tour of the surrounding area. When the water heater broke in the cottage, he quickly dealt with the situation & ensured that our stay was pleasant. As far as the cottage, it was exactly what we wanted. You had plenty of privacy, but were only 5 minutes from town. We never chanced street parking as I was happy to pay $4 per hour at a few of the lots for the peace of mind knowing that my car would not be booted. The view from the cottage was amazing & you are provided with many essentials (towels, soap, paper towels) that many other vacation rentals don't offer. The bedroom is air-conditioned & there are plenty of fans. As far as the island, it was even better than I had hoped. I'm an avid snorkeler & St. John's was a good & mostly better than anything I've seen in the Caribbean. I highly recommend the guides from http://www.tropicalsnorkeling.com/. They just give great in-depth reviews of the best spots. I saw plenty of healthy coral & a lot of interesting topography. Even on a Maho Beach, which is only rated 2 stars in the guide, I saw 5 rays, 5 turtles, a baby lemon shark & a big barracuda on my first swim out. If you like snorkeling, this is the island for you. In sum, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience & I hope we can return next year.

We had a fantastic stay at the Meritage! This was the second part of our honeymoon. Sinbad was awesome, he met us at the ferry terminal, followed us to our rental car, and then took us on a tour of Cruz Bay, telling us the ins and outs. Once at the house, he again gave us the ins and outs of the area. The house was perfect for us. Just enough space, indoor and out, with all the basic things we needed. The deck was great for breakfast and grilling out. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. We also were able to use the main house pool because no one was currently renting there! That was a great bonus! The cottage is in a great location. Very close to all the restaurants, bars, activities of Cruz Bay, but far enough that evenings were quiet and peaceful. St. John was by far our favorite island of our honeymoon. Thank you Chris, your place is great, and Sinbad went above and beyond to make sure we knew everything we needed to know! He was available for any questions we had! Thanks! We hope to be back!

Meritage Cottage is tucked away on a hill above Hart Bay yet minutes from town and great beaches. The views from the deck are spectacular, especially at sunset. The facilities are in good shape. Sinbad was a great help in orienting us to everything and was flexible and supportive through our delayed arrival. Iguanas and geckos joined us for meals on the deck : ) Would highly recommend.
