“Super host” doesn’t do justice to this host! She puts so many personal touches out every time we stay! Beautiful house! Quiet neighborhood! Indoor pool! Our daughter was in heaven!

Our second time there and our kids absolutely LOVED the pool!! Debbie always does a great job specializing the kids’ bedrooms so they are very excited when they get there to see they look like! They already want to go back!

Thank you for an amazing weekend!! Deborah was so helpful from day one. The little touches placed throughout the house that she personally set up for every family member was really appreciated and elevated the experience for all. We loved every fun moment. Everything was so close to us and getting into the city was easy! We already have started our trip for next year. Thank you again for a great family memory!

We had such a wonderful time at this VRBO! They owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They left little surprises for our children and for us! We would highly recommend this as a place to stay for anyone!

This house is a great place for a family vacation. It is very spacious and had plenty of room for 9 people. The indoor pool is very clean and well-maintained.

We stayed at this location a few weeks back to surprise my dad for his birthday and it was everything...one of the best long weekends of my adult life. Upon arrival, it looked like a Christmas wonderland - and sounded like one too with Christmas music playing! The host is extremely thoughtful and clearly cares about giving each guest an experience...not just a stay. The host had even left happy birthday balloons and items for the kids. The kids just had a ball - the host was willing to accommodate the few extra cousins as well. I had brought a few cots for the cousins to have their own space in the large basement. There were so many fun board games, card games, and other games to play as well - several new ones that I believe will now be family favorites. The pool was so fun for the kiddos (ages 9-15) with so many pool toys. If I had to give a few suggestions - I do wish the pool was able to be warmer as some of the adults felt that it was too cold for their taste, but the host does disclose the temperature it's kept at which I'm sure was accurate. Also, not all of the stover burners were working, but that didn't stop us from cooking meals - just something to keep in mind. Just overall this was a really, really wonderful stay. I love the vibe of the house and the host really goes above and beyond to make it a fun stay. We'll definitely be back and really appreciate the host sharing such a wonderful home! I can't say enough good things about the place.

This was our 3rd year at this fun retro house with pool. Tons of pool toys and the sauna was amazing! So many toys as gifts for our 6 yr old granddaughter and many toys in general for children! Looking forward to next year!

This was our 4th year at the house. The cousins refer to it as the cousin house and look forward each year to our visit. The owners take soooo many extra steps into making the kids welcome with activities and. Fun games to play.

We had a great stay and we all loved the pool. Host was very inviting leaving things for the kids which they thought was awesome. Highly recommend

We had a great time (again!) at this amazing property. The pool is a dream—and the rest of the house laid out so well for being together but with so many options, including kids having room (& awesome toys) to play, while parents can supervise, but hang out with each other nearby. The outdoor space is relaxing and beautiful, and very private—yet the house is close to nearby stores/restaurants. We also appreciate the check-out requirements: very minimal and reasonable, which helps maintain the relaxing experience.

Awesome Owners The thoughtful & gracious owners left fresh flowers & gifts for us. The house was a step back in time.... Our time ! Having our own pool was beyond wonderful. Only left the house once. Would love to come back here again !!

The boys loved it! They had a blast at the pool and there was plenty of space for all. They were especially surprised by the thoughtful snacks and drinks left for them to enjoy!

From the moment you arrive you are greeted with funness. Deborah caters to the kids for sure. She asks all the genders and ages of children coming and spoils them with all kinds of toys, snacks and activities. The kids didn't know what to do first. And not to mention the pool. UNBELIEVABLE! Huge, beautiful and again lots of toys to play with. Had a memorable time being with family here. Thanks so much for everything!

I can’t believe all the thoughtful details that were put into our stay for every single person staying! We were traveling with our 6 year old daughter with autism and her 2 cousins. Deborah asked their ages and what toys they were into and put toys and games, specifically with their preferences in every room! She had cookies waiting for us when we arrived. We forgot a tooth brush for one of the kids and she had laid some out for all 3 kids before we got there! She put waters and juice in the fridge for everyone and the kitchen had all the extras you could possibly need. The entire house was spotless, including the pool (which is beautiful btw)! We will be back soon!

Absolutely wonderful, Family of 7, we were very comfortable and never board. Host went above and beyond preparing for us. They set up age appropriate games and activities or has special small gifts for each child. Very thoughtful and made the kids day. Definitely will book again.

This was our 4th time staying at this wonderful house. The 1st three times we spent at the house were just before Christmas and everything was very beautifully decorated for Christmas. This year, we went in February and sure enough, there were pinks and reds and touches of Valentine’s Day spread around. This house has a beautiful pool (and pool area with viewing booth, stereo and sauna) complete with numerous pool floaties, life vests, toys and games. In addition, Deborah always inquires about the age and genders of the kids who will be coming and then takes the time to ensure that there are special toys and treats for each of them. Also, the house is very well stocked with utensils and cooking supplies. There are crockpots, mixing bowls, measuring cups, cake pans and probably just about every kind of utensil, pot, pan, etc. that one should need including basic spices and cooking needs in the pantry. From the welcome sign and the delightful cookies to greet you in the entry way to the fresh cut flowers in the bedrooms and the special treats for the kiddos, our entire family always finds our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. It is obvious that Deborah has a passion for what she does as she spends considerable time going above and beyond to make sure that her guests have a memorable time at her house. Thank you, Deborah, for everything you do to make this happen!!

This was the perfect place to stay for our family! The host found out the ages our kids beforehand and had all the toys and treats set up for our arrival. The attention to detail was so thoughtful and really made the kids feel special. The indoor pool was great and when our original plans changed, it was a wonderful to have this option. They have lots of pool toys. Again, we recommend this place to anyone but especially if you have kids!

Love staying here. The house is roomy for all 10 of us. 6 adults and 4 kids. We had so much fun enjoying the retro home, the pool and we were close to Hidden Valley Ski Resort.

The owners went way out of their way to be welcoming and responsive! The pool was fantastic!

Our party consisted of 4 families with 7 adults and 6 children ages 2-11. This property was perfect for our vacation and family. The details in toys, and furnishings was fun. The lap pool was a big hit, the sauna and steam shower were refreshing. Every area of the house was used and enjoyed completely. We are trying to make plans to come back again. (Tip: bring shorts to sit in the pool area even if winter. 🤦‍♀️) Thank you to the hostess - outstanding!

Great hosts, had everything ready, plus extra touches. Lots of room, great pool area. Beds were comfortable and house was well heated. Would stay here again.

Lots of great things about this house. Our second time there with our family. The pool is a huge hit. Owner really goes over the top to make it welcoming for our grandkids. Lots of special toys and such. Plenty of space for 10 of us. Small but useful kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms and parking. Do note this is about 35-45 minutes to downtown St Louis. Secondly the beds are not very comfortable. Same mattresses that were there two years ago. Could use an upgrade there. All in all a wonderful place, clean , spacious and plenty of games available.

The host out did there self! My grandkids and my kids where overwhelmed by the care and toys the host put out ,after asking me for their ages. The pool was a great amenity also,the time and care that was put into making the the inflatable toys inviting the kids to jump in. Was awesome. My granddaughter said it best ."I want to stay here forever ". Thank you again for a wonderful weekend.

Booked our stay for October 10-13 -16.-2022 for my mother-in-laws 100th birthday. I was surprised to see the detail which Deborah had prepared for us. Beginning with a happy 100th birthday welcoming sign, lots of birthday crowns, banners and treats. My grandson was the youngest (20) and the eldest were myself and my daughter-in-laws mother who ranged in age from 72-78. we thought the whole retro style was a hoot. The retro colors in the dinnerware, bowls, whisks, even salt and pepper shakers were spot on and elicited numerous comments of period things. Most of all, the property was very family and kid centered with lots of toys, pool things, and "Table Topics" cards to promote conversation around the table vs. everyone concentrating on their phones. It reminded me of my days in "Toast Masters" and "Table Topics" I would highly recommend this property for any family who desires a pleasurable stay in the STL area. Although there are so many things to do in STL it is hard to venture out because this is a property which offers a real family connection,

This is the 2nd year we have taken our kids and grandkids to this lovely home. The owners go over and beyond to make it a memorable event. Our grandkids absolutely love all the toys and treats left all over the house for them. And the adults love spending time here as well! The home, the private back yard, and the indoor pool were enjoyed by all of us. We will definitely come here again next year!!!!

Misled by listing. Feel like this home doesn’t warrant such a high price. Owner extremely nice and easy to work with Plenty of towels for the pool and shower Cons: House isn’t retro, just old and not well maintained. Water damage to ceiling & above dining room window Bathroom soap fixtures crumbling. Have plastic piece on top instead of being replaced Light switches labeled w/handwritten descriptions, some so faded can’t be read Several lights and fans not working Dishwasher has a lot of soap scum/scaling inside Signs in pool area handwritten, curled and faded making them hard to read. Outside door in pool area was left open making pool very chilly Bathroom in pool area lighting didn’t work and had a large dark stain in the tub Smoke detector started beeping from a dying battery that had a 2019 expiration Largest bed was in smallest room. We slept in that bed because bed in the master bedroom has a hard frame around it that’s painful getting in and out of and it’s a smaller bed. Not a 3-prong outlet by the bed. Had to buy extension cord so my husband could plug in CPAP machine. STRONG smell in the house. It’s a musty smell, not a wood smell as the owners have commented Basement is dark and creepy with holes cut out of drywall in ceiling Old chairlift in the basement stairwell Blackstone grill is rusty and caked with grease. No comfy seating anywhere to lounge on. Couch and chair in livingroom are uncomfortable, stained and not a good layout to watch TV. A folding table and chairs awkwardly placed in the livingroom. Only seating in pool area is a booth and table. Only one chair on the tiny deck outside the pool. A lot of stuff everywhere, as if they took anything left from previous guest and left in cabinets. 15-20 bottles of hair care items in cabinets. An abundance of open sugar bags and some expired spices in pantry. Stack of outdated magazines in living room including 2017 IKEA catalog. A lot of clutter and knick knacks. A lot of stuff everywhere! Listing pictures aren't cluttered like this. SO MANY small things could be done to bring this home to a higher level. We are disappointed in the condition of this home after reading all the reviews and seeing the listing pictures. If price had been lower, maybe expectations would have been lower and all these things may not have bothered us as much. Can’t imagine we are the only ones that have felt this way. Seems strange no other reviews would reflect this...

The host was very helpful and nice with any questions I had. The house was so nice with toys in every room. The pool was amazing and like bath water and loaded with pool toys. Definitely want to come back!

Extended family gets to stay and play together each Labor Day weekend. We love what has become known as the “cousin house” for our family. The personal touches are so appreciated!

Beautiful home, and yard, and then the huge highlight of the amazing pool (was as great as we could have ever imagined!) Beds were comfy and the house layout lends itself well to hanging out with adults and kids, and people being together without being crowded. So much fun stuff to do in St. Louis—a very short drive, and awesome to be able to start and end the day in the pool.
