Great place for a party of two.
This is my second visit and everything works as listed. The owner is responsive, and at the same time discreet, and respects your privacy.
The pool and grill areas are great and my main reason to come back here.

Like many other people, I should've read the description more carefully. It's not a separate house rather a large part of a house. That being said, Richard is a great host, the property is beautiful and clean, the pictures are accurate. The pool is also great... we stayed three nights in the summer and would do it again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I, along with our dog, spent 3 peaceful days at Richard's beautiful property. Our stay could not have been more perfect. The large and airy room is charming and private, and the secluded pool area was a perfect extra during our stay. Many thanks for all the little details, and for the care which is taken to keep this location a top-level vacation spot.

The cabin was beautiful - even prettier than the pictures. It is small, and intimate, but airy with lots of windows. Very comfortable bed and all amenities were provided. The host was extremely communicative and accommodating with minor requests. We could not immediately access the internet, and he bought us drinks at the restaurant we chose for dinner for the inconvenience. He went above and beyond to ensure all was well and we were comfortable. Highly recommend for an intimate getaway.

We wanted a short getaway in Woodstock NY- We found a cute Chalet with all the amenities! We have a little 7 pound fur baby- she loved it! Host located on site, but private enterance with a great security system-- it was a fully loaded studio apartment! Amazing rustic feel! Hop' Skip and a jump away from Woodstock ! The grounds are beautiful ! We will definitely be back!

A very beautifully appointed log cabin type chalet. Although this place is above a garage attached to the main house, you would never know it. The owner took great pains in keeping this separate from the house and you can clearly appreciate all the work that went into this lovely place. Certainly a space for 2, we stayed for a couple of days to unwind from our hectic schedules. It was so quiet that we now understood the sound of silence. It rained for an entire day of our stay but it didn’t matter as we just remained all cozy inside. The place is literally minutes from Tinker St in Woodstock proper and so it was extremely convenient to be able to walk around and eat and shop and be back to the chalet in no time.
The owner Rich, was very accommodating and provided very helpful information about the area as well as complete directions on how to operate the stereo, television, induction oven, etc. There were even makeup wipes to remove your makeup in the bathroom. While this trip was in the winter there is a beautiful inground pool which I’m sure would be fabulous in the warmer weather.
We really loved the place and had such a restful and relaxing time.

We found the place exactly as billed.Charming, quiet, self contained. It has everything you need! The architecture of the unit is really impressive, high ceilings and windows. The bed is comfortable, and the fireplace is beautiful. It’s really relaxing to be there.
Richard was really helpful with suggestions, we used a lot of his restaurant recs! Would definitely come again!

We had a fantastic stay at this chalet! It is an adorable place- it feels like you’re in a log cabin in the mountains. It has everything you need to stay a couple nights or weeks- a little refrigerator, an induction cooktop, a microwave, a toaster oven- whatever you’re wanting to make you can do it here! The property is beautiful and close to tons of gorgeous hiking trails. Richard provides a super helpful google doc that I referred to a ton during our trip and was extremely responsive to any questions we had or anything we needed. The only downside is we don’t live closer so we can’t come more often- this place is a treat!

The property is named a « chalet ». A chalet is defined as a stand-alone building. This property is the second floor of the main building. Totally misleading with the photos carefully curated to confirm the impression of a stand-alone structure. If my deposit is not promptly returned, I will file a complaint with the NY AG.

Had a great 5 day stay at the Chalet in Woodstock and Richard is a great host. He's in the adjacent building but checked in by text appropriately to see if we needed anything so no privacy issues. The chalet itself is very clean and well appointed and the pics don't really capture how unique and special the architecture is. Most important things for us in travel is the bed and shower. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower is clean with great pressure. The pool and pergola area is even nicer than the pics ..unfortunately weather wasn't great so didn't get to use the way we hoped ... would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area. Woodstock itself has it's charms and was a fun break.

I’d like to say the space is beautiful and pool is amazing! However, upon arrival we realized the chalet is more of a guesthouse and connected to the main home where the owner lives. It was my mistake for not realizing this during booking but the listing doesn’t specifically mention the owner is on-site. Again my mistake for potentially missing that. Regardless, we did end up enjoying our time and the owner is super nice and accommodating. However if you’re truly looking for a private, tenant only property, make note of that.
The property is dog friendly which we appreciated!
We did love the pool, and there are floats there to use!
We also loved the cozy feel of the chalet. I could see it being super cozy in the fall and winter months as well.
One other thing, it was quite buggy with mosquitoes- however the owner is actively treating the property so I imagine it will be better since our departure.
Overall great time in the Catskills. Hope to be back sometime!

Set in a bucolic setting and beautifully landscaped, the Chalet is an ideal combination of an intimate, peaceful and private property coupled with easy access to all that Woodstock and the surrounding area has to offer. The pool is marvelous and well maintained, and the cabin larger and more spacious than it appears in the pictures. Richard is the consummate host, responsive and accessible while respectful of one's privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating get away.

The chalet was perfect for 2 people. It is very cute and the pool/grill area is amazing. The chalet is pretty close to downtown Woodstock as well - about a 10 min drive.

We stayed for couple of days in July. We haven't left the property the entire time as there was no reason to. Coming from NYC, it was all we wanted--tranquil and beautiful with a private pool and a grill. It was 100% as described in the listing. The chalet was clean and spacious, but the best part were the surroundings and the spectacular landscaping. Richard, the host, was a gem as well, responsive AND with sense of humor. Couldn't ask for a better getaway. Can't wait to go back!

Really nice accommodations, very clean and well appointed. Host/owner was great. Pool was wonderful and convenient. A short, easy drive to Woodstock with plenty of great dining options, shopping and essentials. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Chalet. Richard was a great host. We enjoyed great weather. The pool was open, there is a lovely fountain, birds chirping in AM and beautiful gardens…perfect get away spot. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Richard’s. The chalet is as described and very well maintained. Richard is responsive and super easy to communicate with.
The only suggestion we have is to potentially look into switching the mattress as it wasn’t super comfortable for us. It sunk in the middle making for not great sleep. Not a deal breaker by any means.
Would definitely recommend staying at Richard’s and we look forward to be able to visit again!

Not sure where to start! Everything was absolutely amazing! From the beautiful setting, to the immaculate interior. It was al so much better than we expected. The chalet looked lovely in th pohotos, but the reality is SO MUCH more beautiful. Excellent amenities, comfortable bed and well stocked kitchen area. Obviously it was a bit chilly, but we still managed a small time sitting outside enjoying the morning, then strolling around the pool and fire pit. We will definitely be returning here in warmer weather.
An easy drive to the town Woodstock, with top class restaurants also close by (we'd recommend The Red Onion, one of the best meals we've had) and Cucina (an outstanding Italian restaurant)
The only drawback is the lack of Uber, Lyft or reliable cab services. Richard left us a card for Stu's cabs in Woodstock, but he doesn't do nights!
This means if you DO have dinner plans, someone is going to be "designated driver" or just have one glass of wine.
Quite possibly the best place we've ever stayed!

My husband and I spend 5 nights in this beautiful Chalet over New Years weekend. It was the perfect getaway. The property is stunning, super clean. The kitchen was well equipped. So peaceful even thou Richard the owner lives on this property we had complete privacy. The location is excellent, approx 8 mins to Woodstock. We ate at the Red Onion restaurant which is only 4 min drive and Cucina which is approx 7 min drive. Lots of great options for hiking nearby. We hiked everyday. We truly enjoyed this property and will definitely return in the near future.
